Regarding paypal REST API - rest

I am experienced with REST API development, but a newb to paypal's apis. A client asked me to add payments to a web game I am working on for him, the transaction will be done on a webpage, and my plan is to have a script put the item in a DB for later use.
Which Paypal API would I want to use for in game credits? there is just so many on their screen.

I'd recommend getting started with the basic client-side integration:

PayPal Payments REST API on ColdFusion

Has anyone implemented PayPal REST API on ColdFusion?
I would like to see some approaches, since there is no SDK or anything that could make the life of a CF developer easier with PayPal REST API.
Essentially, what I need is some starting point to help me implement Authorize, Capture, Refund and Void through ColdFusion.

How can i implement payment through payment with two receivers?

Working on Android Application which provides platform for users to sell and buy their used products. Below is the scenario of payment screen when User(buy) want to bought an item.
How can i do this payment with paypal adaptive payment. I found something Parallel payment api but in this api doing parallel payment form owner's account need same thing with dynamic customer account.Every thing needed in PHP to develop web service will be used in android application.
Thanks.
Adaptive Payments, specifically the Pay API. That is how you would do the split payment as either parallel or chained.
From mobile apps I typically build the web services on a server, so you can still write everything in PHP and just pass data to and from PayPal back to the app through the PHP service. Then you make simple serice requests to your own PHP script and have it just return a basic JSON response or whatever you want to work with in the mobile app.
There may be more direct ways to get it done, but that's what I've always done and it works well. Allows you to use your web server for more detailed logging, too.

REST API vs Classic APIs

I am working with PayPal integration for the first time and am confused regarding the two solutions. I need to accept direct payments. User enters credit card information and I use PayPal as the processor. I would also at a later point after release like to add PayPal Express Checkout for convenience. I have PayPal Payments Pro, which assigned me a Payflow account. Which documentation should I follow to accomplish both? There are so many assorted PDFs, many of which are over 100 pages, and I don't have a clear idea where I should start.
I would greatly appreciate a quick separation of services (XMLPay? DoDirectPayment?)
I am using C# / ASP.NET and already have the core and rest api libraries installed in my project via NuGet. I also have an app created and an ID+Secret pair to use.
I have called PayPal but the phone team does not have the proficiency to answer these questions and simply refers me to the documentation site. Hopefully a developer who has been down this road can steer me in the right direction. Thanks!
I would suggest the REST Apis, they support both direct credit card and express checkout depending on which funding instrument (CC vs PayPal) you pass in the pay request.
There is also a C# SDK provided to get you started, all info available at: https://developer.paypal.com/webapps/developer/docs/api/
For anyone running into this post in their search for more PayPal integration information (as I did), the C# REST API wrappers (provided by PayPal) are very useful, and they include full sample projects showing you how to perform most common tasks.

Integrate Paypal Here with Openbravo POS

How can I integrate Paypal Here with Openbravo POS?
The workflow I'm looking for is:
Cashier selects card payment on Openbravo POS
Bill is automatically transferred to Paypal Here
Customer completes payment on Paypal Here
Confirmation is automatically transferred to Openbravo POS
I see there is an API for integrating iOS applications with Paypal Here, so this is certainly possible. It would be quite complicated to write an iOS application to do this; perhaps there's a simpler way?
I have now implemented my own system to do this. It consists of:
OpenBravoPOS scripting and a Java class to upload transaction details and wait for a response
A web application that receives the transaction details
A mobile web page that uses the Sideloader API to pass transaction details into Paypal Here
A callback on the web app that receives the transaction ID
This is working fine in a real shop. If you're interested in this solution, see my website.
To develop a fully-integrated solution, the PayPal Here SDKs for iOS and Android are now available on the PayPal Developer site:
https://developer.paypal.com/webapps/developer/docs/integration/mobile/pph-sdk-overview/
There is also a version for Windows 8.1+ in Beta, available upon request. You can email DL-PayPal-Here-SDK#ebay.com for help with any of these.

PayPal MassPay API - How does it work exactly?

I have gone through the Paypal website, looked at their dozens of FAQS and documents, and still don't have a great idea as to how to integrate the Paypal Masspay API. I was hoping I'd have better luck on here :).
I have an app that gives users prizes, with an oracle SQL database that populates whenever a user redeems a prize.
Would I need to download the SDK onto my app, include the PayPal IPN, and call the MassPay API each time a user redeems a prize?
I have attempted to contact Paypal multiple times to no avail.
Not sure which aspect of your question is most problematic for you. I assume that you've looked at the concept diagram at
https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/mass-payments
where the Excel worksheet is roughly analogous to a table's (or query's) worth of payees.
You would normally provide scripting code on your server/website that would submit that payee/amount list through the MassPay API calls against the PayPal website. If you only have one or two payees at a time, this is not the usual way to make a payment to your users (one-offs are generally Adaptive Payments API). It's not a downloadable app, though.
So is your app something the users download and interact with your site? If so, the correct place to put the code that faces PayPal (and actually transfers money around) is on your site's server. Not on the handset.
I finally reached a capable support member of the PayPal Team. The answer I got:
No SDK needed. All I need to do is set up an API call from my server to their server each time I want to reference a payment.
