The most typical reason is that you have debugging messages printed in the response from the server. Open your Web Developer Tools and inspect the request in Network tab. Check that the response from the server is valid JSON.

Sending Facebook message as specific page

I've facebook account and a fan page defined within this account.
I'm using XMPP to send private messages using the following Java code
http://yauritux.wordpress.com/2011/09/24/facebook-chat-with-smack-xmpp-api/
I can easily send and receive messages using my user id and password.
However when I try to use my page user ID I'm getting the following error:
SASL authentication PLAIN failed: not-authorized (stack below).
I tried to use pidgin but I'm getting the same error.
Let me know if you've a solution or direction on how to send a message as a page and not as a user.
Thank you in advance,
Moshe

Pages can only "reply" to user messages, and i am not sure if it even works with XMPP. Keep in mind that the Chat API is deprecated btw: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/chat/
Meaning, after April 2015 it will not work anymore, not even with users.
For Page conversations, there is a specific API endpoint to reply to messages: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/reference/v2.2/conversation/messages

Facebook "pre-filling" policy unclear with regards to empty message and the link parameter

I'm trying to get publish_actions permissions approved for an iPhone app and been denied twice. The first time was because, as the policy says not to, we were populating the message parameter automatically when posting to the user's wall using the graph api. So we removed the message field entirely and kept only the link parameter.
The app was rejected again with the same message so I figured I'd try to get a definitive answer here before I get three strikes on app submission.
Both the 2.3 platform policy video and written policy explicitly say do not pre-fill the message parameter but say nothing about the link parameter. Beyond simply not pre-filling any of the message parameter must we also provide a way for the user to enter a message? If so that is not clear in the policy.
Graph Api Publish Documentation:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/reference/v2.1/user/feed#publish
"Pre-fill" Video: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/review/prefill
I was rejected three times with the same response - which was you can not pre-populate the message field. But with the second and third submission, I was not pre-populating the message field. Of course I was expecting the Facebook reviewer to operate the application according to my instructions to see this. They don't, and the refusal was because they could not tell from my submission that this was the case. The response they give is not hand typed, but a stamped response given when they click "REFUSE!".
The solution is not only to get the application to behave according to policy, but to provide clear pictures with the step by step instructions of how your application shows the user the post, allows for the user to input a message, and the finished post on his time line.

Error: The application has already been subscribed to by another user for this company

I am locally testing an app that integrates with Quickbooks IPP. I had connected to a demo account provided by Quickbooks developer program when I signed up but it didn't have enough data so I created my own demo account with a copy of a bunch of good data. I then cleared out the tokens and stuff in my app stored from the other demo account so I could start over. The problem is, now when I try to connect my app to this new qb account (using a different login to Quickbooks), I just keep getting this error:
Oops! An error has occurred.
Please close this window and try again.
Error Code: invalid_database
Message: The application has already been subscribed to by another user for this company
I don't see how anyone could have connected to this local app before, but just in case, I went to the "Manage My Apps" screen and the only thing I see there is "QuickBooks Online".
It is probably not related, but I'm also getting a javascript error message after clicking "Authorize" in the Intuit popup.
Line: 3
Error: Unexpected call to method or property access.
When I attempt to debug the javascript it is code in jQuery but seems to stem from the "notifyDoubleClickOfSalesActivity" function in the "Intuit.DFA.min.js" file.
What can I do at this point? I know my code is good because I was able to connect the first time.
Go to you developer account and disconnect all connected connections. This should clear up the issue.
If not, please submit a support ticket through appcenter.intuit.com.
If you already have a valid access token/connection for a particular company, another user from the same company cannot again authorize access. That is the error you see. If you go into your account on appcenter you can disconnect that IA connection, so you are able to re-create it with another user. Your code can also call the disconnect API to disconnect it, and lastly you can login as the end user and go to your account and disconnect the app.

Integrating Facebook Credits results in "The application you are using is not responding."

I've been trying to integrate Facebook Credit purchases into my app, but any call to the pay dialog results in the error message "The application you are using is not responding." To eliminate any application specific problems, I've downloaded the Credits API Example and am just trying to get that to work -- it results in the same error message.
I've been trying for a couple of days to pinpoint this error message, but with no luck. Here's what I know so far:
Clicking the "Pay with Facebook" button results in error code 1383008, but there's no error_message being displayed.
I'm running Apache 2.2 on Windows 7. As far as I can tell, Apache is configured to allow requests from any source.
The canvas page is configured to point at http://localhost:8080/facebook.../ while the callback page is configured to point at http://localhost:8080/facebook.../callback.php. However, I have verified that the callback page is not being accessed.
I'm not sure how to verify whether or not Facebook is receiving my data correctly or if it's passing anything back. Any help in this regard would also be appreciated!
Credits attempts to make a callback to a web accessible url (or IP). If Facebook's spider cannot fetch the information from the callback script, then it will continue to return errors, since Facebook expects you to send information like the cost, name, image, custom parameters in order to process the payment.
Have a look at the creating a callback section of the docs:
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/creditsapi/
Adding to Fancis' answer, what you can do is setup a hole in your firewall and connect it to a dynamic dns service such as http://dyn.com/. Then you will be able to test your credits code.
