MAMP PRO won't shut down - mamp

After a recent update to macOS 10.13, one of the problems I face is MAMP PRO will not shut down. I can stop/start servers, but upon shutting down, it hangs indefinitely. Can anyone point me in the right direction? This is such a pain.

I had the same issue but just saw that a version 4.2.1 have been released. Now it's working for me.

VS Code Window not responding Mac OS 10.14.6

I get an error popup "The window is not responding" at startup.
Asks to close, wait or reopen. Nothing seems to happen after, just the same windows pops up.
This started after I rebooted the computer after first install. I was able to write some practice files but now it wont go past this window.
Ive tried uninstalling using Appcleaner, deleting everything, clean OS install as well.

PostgreSQL installation fails with macOS Monterey 12.4

I'm using MacOS Monterey 12.4 Intel chip, and trying Postgresql installation from
https://www.enterprisedb.com/downloads/postgres-postgresql-downloads I think every version for Maos.
every installation attempt turned out the same, the program crashed as soon as it wanted to choose a password, while entering any character.
can anyone help me to install?
I am having the same issue on a 2020 M1 Macbook on MacOS Monterey 12.2.1 when I try to install 14.3. I get all the way to the Provide password for database superuser. Then once entering a password the program crashes. I'll probably end up using the postgresapp version until this is fixed. The latest version of the app (14.3) is universal so it should work with the m1s (if anyone else has this problem with m1). That is the best solution I've got so far.
Edit: You may want to try installing with Homebrew as well. https://formulae.brew.sh/formula/postgresql#default. I'm going to try this later.

XAMPP VM not responding with OSX big sur beta 3

I just downloaded the MacOS Big Sur Beta 3. The problem is when I'm trying to open XAMPP, you can see the application jumping on the dock but it stops right away without doing any action. Is it possible to access my files without running the XAMPP VM?
Same thing happens to me… Until it gets fixed, you can use the console interface:
sudo /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/ctlscript.sh start

Mac OS Sierra install failure: The file couldn't be opened

While trying to perform a clean installation of MacOS Sierra on a Macbook Pro 2012 (8Gb ram, 250 SSD Crucial Driver and i5 processor) through the boot install option (cmd + r) from the web (Internet install, an this is needed as I just installed the new SSD) the operation always gets stuck at 2 minutes before finishing.
Left it the whole night and in the morning saw the message in the image of this post.
Booted in the new AFP2 filesystem format for the drive as required in the Sierra version. Created the partition and erased the disk without any problem.
Seems the installer is fail fast but not very descriptive, any help would be appreciated otherwise that Mac will likely be a deluxe "cup holder" :(
Thanks a million
sierra boot install failure picture
Solved it myself in the end, for anybody stuck on this in the future.
And the only way I found out to do it is to install the OS that came with the Macbook Pro (2010 Mountain Lion in my case) and then update but from the installed system rather than the boot repair util.
Restart the Macbook and right after you hear the sound hold the option key until you see the spinning globe icon.
Input the WiFi credentials to access the repair util (this is the original util that came with your mac not the one updated that only bounds to install High Sierra OS)
Now install your default OS.
After this, inside the default OS, go to app store and download the High Sierra installer and install from there. Installation seemed to go fine.
Loads of effort but at least does the trick,
Hope it helps.

MAMP MySQL stop working after updating mac High Sierra 10.13.2

I updated my mac and MAMP stopped working, or my MySQL Server wont start:
I tried to delete the ib_logfileN:s
since that allways worked for me before, but it doesn't work this time.. Any idea what might solve this?
Thanks
Uninstall my latest version of MAMP and re-install a older version (3.5.2) worked for me.
