Solaris MQ accessing Message Hub in Bluemix via secure gateway - ibm-cloud

I'm testing to bridge messages from WMQ in Solaris to Message Hub - Bluemix and vice versa using Secure Gateway.
Since secure gateway client is not available for Solaris , what is the option for using secure gateway client in Solaris ?

#Vignesh, you are correct. The Secure Gateway team does not support Secure Gateway on Solaris. Unfortunately, you are on your own here.
If you are desperate to get this working you can unpack the .deb or .rpm packages and see if you can replicate the installation yourself, but translated for Solaris.
I would warn that I think this may also not be feasible as it looks like the application run time for Secure Gateway, NodeJS, may or may not be supported on Solaris.
Your best bet would be to run on Ubuntu, or RHEL if possible.

Is it possible to install server software while I just have a hosting

I'm new to web back-end and about to deploy a website(with both backend and frontend). As far as I know, If you own a server, you can install whatever software you want. But how about when you have a free hosting, is it possible for you to install softwares like Tomcat, Mysql, etc yourself.
Ps: as far as I know, hosting is a folder inside a server, so in my opinion, you'll depend on the server which contains the hosting. Still I get confused.
I highly appreciate you all for spending time read this post.
Hosting is just deploying your applications and then serve them to the internet. If you are using free hosting, I suppose that they must be managed service which mean you cannot do anything except the functions the hosting provider provide. In my opinion, it is better to get your own vps if you want to control your server fully. You can just install software you want in ubuntu or other supported os, and then serve your port to public. If you would like to try, you can use some cheap vps provider first like Contabo VPS.

Leshan connect to server and cloud

I have the task of implementing iot device management using Eclipse Leshan. I have difficulty understanding how Eclipse Leshan works in connecting IOT sensors with servers and cloud. Is it true if I declare that Eclipse Leshan does not require a gateway like Eclipse Kura to connect into server and cloud?
Does anyone know where the complete documentation about Eclipse Leshan is? it would be very helpful if there were examples of programs in implementing the eclipse leshan.
Thank you
Eclipse Leshan is a library for implementing applications that use the LWM2M protocol to manage devices. As such, your application can use Leshan's Java API in order to interact with devices that also support LWM2M.
LWM2M does not per se mandate a transport protocol. However, the spec is written assuming that CoAP over UDP is used for that purpose. In fact, the LW in LWM2M stands for Lightweight and as such, using CoAP as the transport protocol makes a lot of sense for managing constrained devices.
Eclipse Leshan itself does not connect to a server or cloud but instead is usually part of an application that is hosted on a server (on the cloud). However, you need to implement that application yourself because Leshan, as indicated above, is just a library. The devices then interact with your LWM2M enabled application. Because CoAP/UDP uses standard IP, this interaction can occur over public internet infrastructure if desirable in your use case, i.e. no gateway is necessarily needed. You can, however, also connect your devices to a local gateway, e.g. Kura, and then connect the gateway to your LWM2M server in the cloud instead. It really depends on your use case and the capabilities of the devices.

OS Supporting Bluemix

If I were to setup IBM Bluemix local, what are the operating systems that can support the Bluemix software?
Been trying to look for answers in the internet but always end up frustrated because I can't find any answer. Even Bluemix site did not mention what is the OS requirement in setting up Bluemix.
Bluemix Local is not a software product that you can install in your own operating system. It runs in your environment but it is still a subscription.
The Bluemix Local install is only performed by IBM and it is an automated deployment of many virtual servers. It is also a managed offering, meaning that you don't have access to the operating system on those virtual machines. All the maintenance tasks are executed by IBM through a secure connection and a mechanism called Relay.
I guess you probably saw this link before, but the infrastructure requirements are described here: https://console.ng.bluemix.net/docs/local/index.html#localinfra
I think you may need Bluemix Support team to help you build the Bluemix local environment, Bluemix local is a cloud platform as a service that need to build on your infrastructure as a service.

Is it a good idea to use WAMP server as a web server?

I have bought a VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) that Windows Server 2008 is installed on it. I needed to use server because I have developed a C# console application that can read data by TCP socket and write them in the MySQL database.
Now I need to start a website on this server. I think WAMP server is so easy for me.
Maybe in future a lot of people visit my website.
Is it a good idea to use WAMP server as a web server?
In principal there is nothing wrong with using WAMPServer as a LIVE webserver.
However, not the out of the box version.
Out of the box WAMPServer and XAMPP for that matter expect to be used as a single seat developer tool and while that is great for a click and go solution to get a developer up and running on Apache/MySQL and PHP in a few minutes it is not secure enough to be considered as a LIVE web facing webserver.
Now if you have the knowledge and experience to create an user account on Windows Server that has access to only what Apache needs to do its work, and can get Apache to run in that account instead of its default account (which has way to many privilages for a live server) and are prepared to explore all the Apache security features/modules that would be required for a web facing server then it is possible. However this is not a trivial task, and any mistakes or ommissions will leave your server open to the simplest of hacks.
In short, unless you really know what you are doing with Windows Server and Apache, you would be far better to pay for a professionally configured and managed web server environment.

Install wowza Media server on my webserver

i was installed wowza media server on my local pc (Ubuntu 13.04). and i was streamed correctly. but now i want to install wowza media server on my web server (linux). please tell any one how to install this media server on my hosting webserver and how to streaming there
Installing Wowza Media Server on your web server will be very similar to what you have already done on your local PC. If you plan to do HTTP adaptive streaming (Apple HLS, Adobe HDS, Microsoft Smooth Streaming, or MPEG DASH) from Wowza, then you just need to make sure that you do not run into a port 80 conflict with your web server. You would do this by either specifying a different HTTP port for Wowza (e.g., port 8080), or better yet, by using a separate IP address on the Web server for Wowza and then still using port 80 for both the web server and Wowza to ensure your content flows across most firewalls.
If you need more detailed help, just send email to support#wowza.com. Someone usually replies within a day.

There is a script that installs the Wowza automatically. It works well for Centos OS, I don't know about Ubuntu support. Check this tutorial in this link!, it may help you. At least, it worked for me.
Check out this link. It guides you through the basic setup process. I recommend you install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS which is going to be supported till 2017. Also install open-ssh server, Apache2 web server, MySQL web server and PHP.
