How can I get the exact picture name from word.Document.Shape.Name method. I tried that but it is not getting the exact name. I tried like
objWord.Document.getItem(activeWord).Shape.getItem(index).Name
But it won't get the exact name. Is there any other method to return the Logo name in a document?. Should InlineShape serve the above functionality?.
Please suggest how can I retrieve the Logo name inside a Word document. I'm using Word 2016.
The behavior you report - losing the Shape.Name when copying/pasting between documents - is to be expected. Since this is a Shape, use the Shape.AlternativeText property to store the information currently in the Shape.Name. That will come across intact.

I have been trying to rewrite some logic to use IText7 that I had previously working with ITextSharp (5.x) but ran into a roadblock. GetTranslatedFieldName no longer existed so I did a quick search and found it in SignatureUtilities but the result doesn't match the actual field name. I assumed that maybe I was misusing it so I dug around a bit more and found FindFieldName on the AcroForm but it returns the same incorrect field name.
Is this a bug or am I still misusing these methods? Is there a native way to Retrieve the full field name from a partial name in IText7?
For reference this is what my full field name looks like
someFormX[0].Page1[0].FieldX[0]
And this is what the field name being returned by GetTranslatedFieldName and FindFieldName looks like
someFormX[0].FieldX[0]
I'm calling a REST API with a SharePoint Designer workflow on SharePoint online. I'm setting the column name with a variable, and when i put the variable into my URL to call it it says "Column [name] does not exist".
Annoying part is when I call just /items? I can see the column in the result, but if I try select it or filter by it I get 'does not exist'. I have alot of these columns similarly named, and I get the error for all of them.
I am using the internal name, I have tried adding "OData_" to the front. I've tried typing the url manually in the browser and entering values (incase the variable was causing issues) but I get the same error, column does not exist. but i can see it them I call all items. :(
so I have quite a few columns with naming convention "[Q#] Score [#]" eg "Q4 Score 2". The internal name that's clearly appearing in the full items results is "Q4_x0020_Score_x0020_2".

I expect to be able to select that column (and the dozens like it) but none work. I've searched all similar problems on the forum and they've usually got a spelling mistake or forgot the ODATA_ but i cant seem to get the problem. Please help.
It seemed to be working intermittently.... So it was in fact just a naming error...... Half of the columns were [Q#]_x0020_Score_x0020_[#] and half were [Q#]_x0020_score_x0020_[#]. The word "Score" was capitalized on some and not others. I Didn't realize the HTTP Calls were case sensitive. Now I have added a bunch of if statements to handle the different variations haha. Judging by the naming convention you are on an older version of SharePoint. The x0020 is the value for a space. Ideally when you first create the column you would name it without the spacing. For example UserInformation. Then come in and edit the name after the fact and call it User Information. If you click on the title name and look at the URL, you will see what the actual name of the column is at the end of the URL. It is case sensitive because you can have a column named score and Score which is ultimately why it wasn't working.

So I need to create a report of what odbc-dsns are on computers.
The first hurdle I'm trying to do is get the csv to output correctly on MINE. Then I figure I'll just deploy a runonce group policy with the script set to append.
The problem is that get-odbcdns returns an object. That object has:
Name: the friendly name of the odbc
Attribute : {Description}
I just want to be able to formatlist with the VALUE of the {Description} value inside the Attribute property. I can't figure out how to do that.
Whenever I go | fl name, attribute
it returns 1sl-den-db01 and {description} I would like for it to actually parse out description from Attribute. No idea how. Thoughts?
I need to add a few fields to a Word 2010 DOTX template which are to be populated automatically with custom content at "run time" when the document is opened in a C# program using Word Interop services. I don't see any way to assign a unique name to "Ask" or "Fill-In" fields when adding them to the template via the QuickParts ribbon-menu option.
When I iterate the document.Fields collection in the C# program, I must know which field I'm referencing, so it can be assigned the correct value.
It seems things have changed between previous versions of Word and Word 2010. So, if you answer please make sure your answer applies to 2010. Don't assume that what used to work in previous versions works in 2010. Much appreciated, since I rarely work with Word and feel like a dolt when trying to figure out the ribbon menuing in 2010.
You are correct in that fields don't necessarily have a built-in way to uniquely distinguish themselves from other field instances (other than its index in the Fields collection). However, you can use the Field.Type property to test for wdFieldAsk or wdFieldFillIn . If this is not narrow enough to ID then you will need to parse your own unique identifier from the Field.Code. For example, you can construct your FILLIN field as:

when you iterate through your document.Fields collection just have a test for the identifier being in the string. EDIT: example:

Another alternative - seek your specific field with a Find.Text for "^d MYIDENTIFIER" (where ^d is expression for 'field code')

I'm using a plugin and want to perform an action based on the records statuscode value. I've seen online that you can use entity.FormattedValues["statuscode"] to get values from option sets but when try it I get an error saying "The given key was not present in the dictionary".
I know this can happen when the plugin cant find the change for the field you're looking for, but i've already checked that this does exist using entity.Contains("statuscode") and it passes by that fine but still hits this error.
Can anyone help me figure out why its failing?

I've not seen the entity.FormattedValues before.
I usually use the entity.Attributes, e.g. entity.Attributes["statuscode"].

Crm wraps many of the values in objects which hold additional information, in this case statuscode uses the OptionSetValue, so to get the value you need to:
((OptionSetValue)entity.Attributes["statuscode"]).Value
This will return a number, as this is the underlying value in Crm.
If you open up the customisation options in Crm, you will usually (some system fields are locked down) be able to see the label and value for each option.
If you need the label, you could either do some hardcoding based on the information in Crm.
Or you could retrieve it from the metadata services as described here.
To avoid your error, you need to check the collection you wish to use (rather than the Attributes collection):

However although the SDK fails to confirm this, I suspect that FormattedValues are only ever present for numeric or currency attributes. (Part-speculation on my part though).

For example you have an optionset with display names as 1, 2, 3,
The above statement do not recognize these values because those are integers. If You have seen the exact defintion of formatted values in the below link

you will find this statement is valid for only string display values. If you try to use this statement with Integer values it will throw key not found in dictionary exception.
So try to avoid this statement for retrieving integer display name optionset in your code.

When you are talking about Option set, you have value and label. What this will give you is the label. '?' will make sure that the null value is never passed.
