I have created a workflow by following this guide https://userhelp.silverstripe.org/en/3.1/optional_features/setting_up_advancedworkflow/setting-up-workflows/
However when I add $Context.AbsoluteEditLink to the notification email content field the url doesn't appear (nothing is shown) in the resulting email. I have checked elsewhere but cant find any answer.

The customer in Netsuite gets an email with the generated invoice attached as a pdf. The requirement is to change the body of the email. I am unable to locate the template that has this info to modify. Please advise.
The current body of the email is:
"Please open the attached file to view your Invoice.
To view the attachment, you first need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don't have it yet, visit Adobe's Web site http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html to download it."
`Customize-->Transaction Forms-->Whichever invoice form you're using`.
Under this form you should be able to choose which email template to send.
To find this email template,
Customize-->Transaction form PDF/HTML layouts
Under this menu you should be able to select and customize the email template however you want. Make sure the template you edit corresponds to the template that is showing on the form.
You may need to or have the desire to enable advanced/PDF/HTML templates, which allows you to edit and customize forms in a much more robust fasion using HTML/XML/CSS, Freemarker, and BFO. (See suiteanswers: 48703)
I know the original post is several years old, but I too found myself searching for answers recently in stackoverflow so I thought I would post the answer to this questioon.
Use the global search bar to type in Email Template. You can customize from there. I've attached a screenshot that replaces the generic message
"Please open the attached file to view your Invoice.
To view the attachment, you first need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don't have it yet, visit Adobe's Web site http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html to download it."
It has been awhile since I found and got this email template to work, so it is possible there may be another section where you have to set the preference to use this customized email template.
I have a Workflow in CRM 2016 on premise that sends an email to a customer when an order is created. The email contains a URL link to external website used for scheduling. The problem is that the hyperlink in the email doesn't fill the parameters we are using from the CRM entities.
I tried several ways to do this. the first way was using the Insert Hyperlink when creating the email through the workflow. this creates the following tags:
<hyperlink><name>Pro Services Online Scheduling Portal</name><value>https://secure.website.com/ProServices?name={Ship To Contact(Order (Order))}&email={Email(Ship To Account (Account))}&OrderID={Order ID(Order (Order))}&Company={Customer(Order (Order))}&skip=0</value></hyperlink>
This correctly adds the hyperlink into the email but the actual link looks exactly as it does in value tag without the CRM values.
I tried just adding the link as plain text like so:
https://secure.website.com/ProServices?name={Ship To Contact(Order (Order))}&email={Email(Ship To Account (Account))}&OrderID={Order ID(Order (Order))}&Company={Customer(Order (Order))}&skip=0
This displays the correct URL with the correct CRM values like: https://secure.website.com/ProServices?name=JonDoe&email=jdoe#email.com&OrderID=ORD-123456&Company=FakeCompany&skip=0
However, the URL itself is still missing the values so if the customer clicks on the link, the incorrect parameters will be sent. It does work if the customer were to copy and paste the link text instead of clicking the URL but most customers would rather click the link.
I even tried used an HTML anchor tag but that also didnt work.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Any help would be appreciated.
Here's some blog posts that helped but still looking for answers.
http://dotnetskills-reenapatel.blogspot.com/2014/02/how-to-form-dynamic-hyperlink-url-for.html
http://www.magnetismsolutions.com/blog/paulnieuwelaar/2012/06/25/dynamic_clickable_email_hyperlink_dynamics_crm_2011_workflow
If you want to use hyperlink then you have to do something similiar to what CRM does for field Record URL(Dynamic).
You can create a new field on the entity say 'EntityName Hyperlink'. Then use plugins to set this value to the desired link on create event.
You can then use this field to create your hyperlink. We do something similair for our case entity we have field Case Hyperlink which i set on create event.
Then we insert it on outgoing emails like this
<hyperlink><name>Hyperlink</name><value>{Case Hyperlink(Case)}</value></hyperlink>
We ended up creating a custom workflow activity to add the hyperlink using SparkleXRM
in my website there is a form that allows the users to submit their email. When the user clicks submit, the email is pushed to the Data Layer. I have tested this by checking the data layer values using console:
email: "abc#gmail.com"
I have also set a Google Tag Manager variable called email, and I have created a trigger as shown below:
Now I set my tag to fire when this trigger is true. But my tag does not fire. I don't understand why. Can someone please explain why this may not be working?
This was not working because my website is a single page app and that's why Custom Event Triggers need to be replaced by History Change Triggers
BACKGROUND:
Sitefinity CMS for my specific problem, but could be general too.
I have an email message which has an unsubscribe link in it like this:
To Unsubscribe: Click or copy paste the following link in your browser.
https://www.domain.com/unsubscribe?mailingList={|MailingList.Title|}&SubscriptionEmail={|Subscriber.Email|}
{|MailingList.Title|} and {|Subscriber.Email|} are sitefinity CMS subscriber fields. When I send out an email these two fields resolve to their respective values. Hence, the URL I get in an email is as following for example.
https://www.domain.com/unsubscribe?mailingList=mymailingList&subscriptionEmail=abc#xyz.com
The user can click on it and unsubscribe from the mailing list.
My Problem:
If the mailing list name has a space in it, the link that appears on the email is broken at the first occurance of the space(link the link shown below breaks immediately =my) and hence clicking it is like clicking a invalid URL.
https://www.domain.com/unsubscribe?mailingList=my mailing List&subscriptionEmail=abc#xyz.com
I dont understand why the space in the URL doesnt resolve to a %20.
My Trial:
I changed the order of the querystrings to see if it works(mailinglist was the last string originally, I put it in the middle)
I am fine if the URL does not get resolved into a link at all, just forcing the users to copy paste the entire URL. But, I was not able to do it as well.
I have read in microsoft forums that OUTLOOK resolves the spacing issue, when the URL is surrounded by < and > like this :
URL here:
But the URL doesnt even show up in the email just like it is not showing up here above this line.
Tested on OUTLOOK, GMAIL, YAHOOMAIL, MICROSOFT MAIL. The link is broken in all email clients.
Any suggestions on what is the best solution for this?
Newbie to sharepoint but this thing didnt work for me as expected.
I am trying to have a sharepoint form:
1)Where accounts fills in section (presses submit, email sent to IT to fill in their section)
2) IT gets email, go fill in their section(press submit, email to MD to approve /reject)
3) MD approves/rejects
4) data saves
I have the form working, and using views am able to go between forms.
Issue is how
1)email alert to groups
2)half filled forms, given to other groups
Thanks
To Solve your first problem :
You can create an event reciver which will fire when an item is created in the list as well as when an existing item is changed in the list Or you can also create a workflow for this too.
There is an approval workflow OOTB which may be helpful for you too, but i am not sure about that.
For the Second question :
Whenever you open the existing item again, infopath form will automatically manage the data entered in the form and displays it as filled data.
Hope this helps.
