End points in Flask Admin using different fields than ID - flask-admin

I've got an Order object where the edit screen for an Order object with ID of 5 looks something like this: /admin/order/edit/?id=8&url=%2Fadmin%2Forder%2F
If I've got a field on the Order object called invoice, is there a way to use a URL end point for the edit screen using the invoice field?

Generally, using column_extra_row_actions you can create an action that accepts row_id (Order.ID in your case) as parameter, and you can specify a function that will get the 'invoice'.
Alternatively, you can add an extra column to the view that does not exist in your database, and fill it with an appropriate link.
from flask import Markup
class MyModelView(ModelView):
....
column_list = ['edit link'] + the_rest_of_columns_you_display
column_formatters = {'edit link': lambda v, c, m, n: Markup('''
<a href='/admin/order/edit/?invoice=%d'>Edit</a>
''' % m.invoice }
Additionally, you need to override the edit_view function so it will accept whatever parameters you need, and the respective template.

Adding user defined keywords or Test Attribute

I would like to add custom attributes (or Keywords) to a test which I can access during pytest_runtest_logreport.
What I have been doing currently is to set a marker like this
#pytest.mark.TESTID(98157) for tests and then use this in pytest_runtest_logreport as report.keywords['TESTID'] which returns a tuple of length 1 having value 98157. So far so good.
But when I tried to add another marker with defect ID like this #pytest.mark.JIRA("MyJIRA-124") this report.keywords['JIRA'] this gives me integer 1.
So my question is can we not create parameterized marker with string parameters
AND
If that is the could be the probable workaround for me.
Unfortunately "report" will not have this vaules in default implmentation as it's only a dict with 1 as values for each key (source code)
I think that the easiest workaround would be to change how the "report" is constructed using pytest_runtest_makereport hook. It could be as simple as this:
from _pytest.runner import pytest_runtest_makereport as _makereport
def pytest_runtest_makereport(item, call):
report = _makereport(item, call)
report.keywords = dict(item.keywords)
return report
Then in pytest_runtest_logreport, under report.keyword['JIRA'] you will find MarkInfo object

Passing arguments to Access Forms created with 'New'

I have a form called 'detail' which shows a detailed view of a selected record. The record is selected from a different form called 'search'. Because I want to be able to open multiple instances of 'detail', each showing details of a different record, I used the following code:
Public detailCollection As New Collection
Function openDetail(patID As Integer, pName As String)
'Purpose: Open an independent instance of form
Dim frm As Form
Debug.Print "ID: " & patID
'Open a new instance, show it, and set a caption.
Set frm = New Form_detail
frm.Visible = True
frm.Caption = pName
detailCollection.Add Item:=frm, Key:=CStr(frm.Hwnd)
Set frm = Nothing
End Function
PatID is the Primary Key of the record I wish to show in this new instance of 'detail.' The debug print line prints out the correct PatID, so i have it available. How do I pass it to this new instance of the form?
I tried to set the OpenArgs of the new form, but I get an error stating that OpenArgs is read only. After researching, OpenArgs can only be set by DoCmd (which won't work, because then I don't get independent instances of the form). I can find no documentation on the allowable parameters when creating a Form object. Apparently, Microsoft doesn't consider a Constructor to be a Method, at least according to the docs. How should I handle this? (plz don't tell me to set it to an invisible text box or something) Thanks guys, you guys are the best on the net at answering these questions for me. I love you all!
Source Code for the multi-instance form taken from: http://allenbrowne.com/ser-35.html
Inside your Form_detail, create a custom property.
Private mItemId As Long
Property Let ItemID(value as Long)
mItemId = value
' some code to re query Me
End Property
Property Get ItemId() As Long
ItemId = mItemId
End Property
Then, in the code that creates the form, you can do this.
Set frm = New Form_detail
frm.ItemId = patId
frm.Visible = True
frm.Caption = pName
This will allow you to pass an ID to the new form instance, and ensure it gets requeried before making it visible. No need to load all of the results every time if you're always opening the form by Newing it. You let the property load the data instead of the traditional Form_Load event.
This works because Access Form modules are nothing more than glorified classes. Hope this helps.
You could try applying a filter:
frm.Filter = "[ID] = " & patID
frm.FilterOn = True
The Record Source of the Detail form will need to be set to the table to which the ID belongs.
UPDATE
As you requested, here is the code to set the RecordSource:
frm.RecordSource = "select * from TableName where [ID] = " & patID
This is probably cleaner than using a filter given that a user can remove the filter (depending on the type of form).

simple where clause SSRS 2005 parameter not working

this should be a simple thing but I've spent hours to no avail. Basically, I need to look up a salesrep # in a SQL database using the user's Window's user id. The format of the user id is
"Norstar\kjones" and I need the "kjones" portion of it.
using the split function, I am able to pull just the 'kjones' part out:
split(User!UserID,"\").GetValue(1)
I've created a parameter called SlsmnNum and created a dataset to be used to look up the salesrep # using the user id (the slsm_num field is a varchar, not an integer):
select slsm_num from Salesman_Msid where slsm_msid = ''' + split(User!UserID,"\").GetValue(1) + '''
However, I get no results. How can I get the select to work?
alternatively, I tried the following:
in parameter SlsmnNum, I set the default to an expression using:
split(User!UserID,"\").GetValue(1) and this returns 'kjones', as expected.
I created a SECOND parameter (which is positioned BELOW the SlsmnNum parameter), SlsmnNum2, that has a default (and an available) value using a query, which is a dataset containing the following select statement:
select slsm_num from Salesman_Msid where slsm_msid = (#SlsmnNum)
When I run the query on the Data tab, when I type in 'kjones' into the parameter box, it returns '1366', the salesrep # I'm expecting.
But, when I Preview the report, all I get in SlsmnNum2 box is Select a Value and nothing is there (it should return '1366').
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Try your first approach with Query Text as
="select slsm_num from Salesman_Msid where slsm_msid = '" & split(User!UserID,"\").GetValue(1) & "'"

Query criteria: from public variable or from form

After a few hours searching, I couldn't find any solution to this little problem I'm having.
I have a query that retrieves one of its criteria from a form. I have referenced correctly the value on the form from the query, and it works, but what I wanted to do is a bit more complicated: when the form is closed, I want to launch the query with a "default value".
I tried to do it in 2 different ways:
a) Defining an "IIf" at the query criteria: I would need a function that checks if the form from which I retrieve the values is open.
b) Defining public variables with a default value, which would be changed from the form: I don't know where/when to initialize the value of the variable.
Does anyone have a better idea on how to do this?
TL;DR: Query gets criteria from form when it's open. If form is closed, query uses default value. HELP!
You can create a VBA function in a module to do this :
Function MyCriterion() As Long
MyCriterion = 1234 ' default value
If CurrentProject.AllForms("MyForm").IsLoaded Then
MyCriterion = Forms("MyForm").MyControl.Value
End If
End Function

Extjs Form Action Submit - Custom override?

Looking at the source code of Action.Submit, I'm trying to figure out where ext is appending the form's fields to the parameters.
Instead of sending each field as a separate parameter, I want to send something like:
formObj:{field1:value, field2:value}
Currently, each of those values are simply added to the parameter list along with any custom/baseParams.
Where are these formfields being added so that I can change this behaviour?
Thanks.
I'm not sure what your override needs to look like, but you'll probably want to look at Ext.Ajax.request() (in Core / Connection.js). When posting a form, the fields get serialized there, in this code block:
if(form = Ext.getDom(o.form)){
url = url || form.action;
serForm = Ext.lib.Ajax.serializeForm(form);
p = p ? (p + '&' + serForm) : serForm;
}
If you really want to track the process of creating parameter list, you can refer to Ext.form.Action.getParams.
You should also consider Ext.form.BasicForm.getValues as it returns exactly the result you want, the only problem is that you'll need to send it manually, e.g. using Ext.Ajax.request.
