How to get specific user all versions of an object through dql? - version-control

I want to get all versions of documents from dm_document
code I have written is
SELECT object_name, r_version_label FROM dm_sysobject where ( r_modifier='kishoren') and (r_object_id in (select r_object_id from dm_sysobject where any r_version_label>='1.0'))
it is giving only current version labels
but I want out put like

select r_object_id,i_chronicle_id,r_version_label from dm_sysobject(all) where i_chronicle_id='090008868006d5be' and owner_name='swathi'
This will give required output as above

Select Data using date between operator and two unconnected tables

I am tryin to resolve this situation. The following piece of code works ok .
SELECT FISCAL_START, DESCRIPTION,
CASE WHEN FISCAL_START BETWEEN DATE'2014-03-31' AND DATE'2014-09-29' THEN DESCRIPTION
ELSE 'Test Failed'
END
FROM GL_PERIOD
what I am trying to achieve is as follows instead of the hard coded dates of 2014-03-31 and 2014-09-29..need to replace those with column names FISCAL_START and FISCAL_END dates from an unconnected view call WORK.
Psuedo code is as follow s...
Show Description from GL_PERIOD where ENTER_DATE (which is in WORK view) is between FISCAL_START and FISCAL_END. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I think you need this, I just continue your query to add the missing piece:
Here is sqlfiddle that will show you live example: fiddle example
SELECT "FisStart", "Descripton",
CASE WHEN "Entry_Date"
BETWEEN "FisStart"
AND "FisEnd"
THEN "Descripton"
ELSE 'Test Failed'
END
FROM GL_PERIOD
INNER JOIN WORK USING USING ("SrNo")

Multiple Search in SSRS when using only a part of the field

I Have created a stored procedure:
#DeviceID nvarchar(20) =''
WITH EXECUTE AS CALLER
AS
SELECT
amd.BRANDID,
amd.DEVICEID
FROM AMDEVICETABLE amd
where
left(amd.Deviceid,len(#DeviceID)) in (#DeviceID)
The length of amd.Deviceid is about 15 characters
In Visual Studio I create a parameter #DeviceID and when I am entering e.g ABCDE ( the first 5 characters from Deviceid) everything is working perfect.
the problem is that I want to put multiple values like
jhmcl*, jhmgd*.
So I created my own little version of your report and I believe the problem is your LEN() function. I'm surprised it doesn't return an error because it errors out in Report Builder for SQL Server 2014(simple version of SSRS). I would test what your LEN(#DeviceID) is returning. I would bet it's not returning the correct value. Instead you might try this to cover every possible pattern. I don't know how it will work performance wise.
SELECT DeviceID
FROM YourTable
WHERE LEN(DeviceID,1) IN (#DeviceID)
OR LEN(DeviceID,2) IN (#DeviceID)
OR LEN(DeviceID,3) IN (#DeviceID)
..
OR LEN(DeviceID,15),IN(#DeviceID)

command level parameters in crystal reports

I have a report having 2 parameters carton and location.
Suppose if I didn't gave any value among those then it should give all values.
So created 2 command level parameters. Its showing all values whenever I didnt gave any values in parameters.
But even If I gave some value in either carton or location but still its showing all values.
Please suggest what is the problem
SELECT
crt.carton_no, crtd.part_no, SUM(crtd.quantity) AS quantity,
crtd.barcode, crtd.item_description
, crt.put_away_location AS putAway
FROM
carton crt, carton_details crtd
WHERE
crt.carton_id = crtd.carton_id
AND crt.status = 'N' AND
( crt.carton_no like '{?cartonno}' or '{?cartonno}' like '%' ) and (crt.put_away_location LIKE '{?location}' or '{?location}' like '%')
GROUP BY
crt.carton_no, crtd.carton_id, crtd.part_no
ORDER BY
crt.put_away_location, crt.carton_no
I guess your query is always taking true ignoring or condition... try using Case
where
CASE WHEN {?cartonno} Like ""
THEN
'{?cartonno}' like '%'
ELSE
crt.carton_no like '{?cartonno}'
END
Note: I don't know which database you are using above is just an example of SQL... you can change it as required and use similarly for other parameter in where clause

simple where clause SSRS 2005 parameter not working

this should be a simple thing but I've spent hours to no avail. Basically, I need to look up a salesrep # in a SQL database using the user's Window's user id. The format of the user id is
"Norstar\kjones" and I need the "kjones" portion of it.
using the split function, I am able to pull just the 'kjones' part out:
split(User!UserID,"\").GetValue(1)
I've created a parameter called SlsmnNum and created a dataset to be used to look up the salesrep # using the user id (the slsm_num field is a varchar, not an integer):
select slsm_num from Salesman_Msid where slsm_msid = ''' + split(User!UserID,"\").GetValue(1) + '''
However, I get no results. How can I get the select to work?
alternatively, I tried the following:
in parameter SlsmnNum, I set the default to an expression using:
split(User!UserID,"\").GetValue(1) and this returns 'kjones', as expected.
I created a SECOND parameter (which is positioned BELOW the SlsmnNum parameter), SlsmnNum2, that has a default (and an available) value using a query, which is a dataset containing the following select statement:
select slsm_num from Salesman_Msid where slsm_msid = (#SlsmnNum)
When I run the query on the Data tab, when I type in 'kjones' into the parameter box, it returns '1366', the salesrep # I'm expecting.
But, when I Preview the report, all I get in SlsmnNum2 box is Select a Value and nothing is there (it should return '1366').
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Try your first approach with Query Text as
="select slsm_num from Salesman_Msid where slsm_msid = '" & split(User!UserID,"\").GetValue(1) & "'"

How can I display count of imagefield images in views?

I want to display the number of images uploaded to an imagefield, in a views field or views tpl.php. How can I do this? My imagefield is called boatimages. I tried this but it comes out as 0, not the correct number: < ? php print count($fields->field_boatimages) ?>
Ack. I do not think count() works like that.
Why not just do this using Views? Take a look at Arguments > Settings and you'll see 'display record count' which seems like all you would need for this.
My suggestion is install the devel module and use the function dpm to print the variable if you wanna know the structure (print_r() may work too). If count isn't working it's because, you are probably using it with the wrong data.
OR, you could just query the database for the field. I'm gonna provide you instructions for drupal 7 but drupal 6 should be similar.
Check the table field_data_field_boatimages. See how there's a list of your images related with a single entity_id
Then execute this query
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM `field_data_field_boatimages` WHERE entity_id = ###
Where ### is the entity_id you want to know. You can get it by looking for arg(1) if arg(0) == node in your page.
Now you just have to use php power to print thar result
$query = SELECT COUNT(*) FROM `field_data_field_boatimages` WHERE entity_id = :eid
$result = db_query($query, array(':eid', $nid))->fetchField();
echo $result;
Drupal 6 would be very similar. Just a little difference in the table names and the query syntax. For example using db_result instead of fetchField()
Anyway good luck!
