I am creating a Yii2 project. But instead of writing the logics in the controller I am trying to call APIs from the controller as described here:
yii2-call-api-method-from-backend-controllers
Can I pass input parameters to the called API ? If so pls mention how to.
Thanks in advance
To add get parameters during api call, try:
$res = Yii::$app->runAction('api/user/get_call',['a'=>'sth','b' => 'sth_else']);
To add post parameters is a bit trickier. You have to set body parameters before call:
Yii::$app->request->setBodyParams(['a' => 'sth', 'b' => 'sth_else']);
$res = Yii::$app->runAction('api/user/post_call');

I can set a GET method in Slim to get data from my database but my problem is the POST method, i don't know how to use it correctly. I do some code like:
$app->post('/login',function() use ($app){
$inputs = json_decode($app->request()->getBody());
$result = json_encode($inputs);
return $result;
});
I wanna make a login function by POST method but this is just an example I want to show the data that have been sent in the body by json. I used Advanced Rest Client to test but the result is always "null".
I'm new to Rest and Slim Framework too. Thanks for any helpful idea !
using return doesn't do anything in terms of viewing the output within that route callback function. use print, print_r, echo, $app->response->setBody('Foo'), or $app->response->write('Foo')
in terms of the post, did you try using $data = $app->request()->post() to get your data?
I'm trying to create a custom http method in RESTful API. I was reading the documentation and it is said that you can do it buy adding a simple action in controller and then for example conifg your route with child routes with action => action_name but in the code I have spotted addHttpMethodHandler() method in Zend\Mvc\Controller\AbstractRestfulController.php so in controller construct method I have added:
$add = function () {
return new JsonModel(array(
'id' => 2222,
));
};
$this->addHttpMethodHandler('someAction', $add);
var_dump($this->customHttpMethodsMap);
With the var_dump I can see that this new function is added but I just wonder how can I call it or maybe I'm missing the point.
Regards,
I actually wrote a blog post on this because I had so much trouble too.
The problem is that in addition to calling addHttpMethodHandler within the abstract restful controller, you also need to make sure that the Zend Request class knows that your http method exists.
Here is a link to a better explanation: http://richardbrock1.wordpress.com/2013/03/23/custom-http-methods-in-zf2/
I don´t know how to securely pass a parameter via form with Cake.
The method I use now is as follows:
$this->Form->create('Post', array('label' => '', 'action' => '', 'url' => 'inseratAngenommen/'.$postId));
In the controller there stands:
function inseratAngenommen($id = null, $bs = null){
//stuff
}
The poblem is that the user can modify the output number of $postId in the browser:
action="/cakephp/posts/inseratAngenommen/149"
For that case I want to pass the parameter invisible in the HTML. Is that possible?
I thought of a method like the Form->PostLink provides. I couldn´t find anything.
Thanks in advance.
It is not possible to send an parameter securely over a website as the data is sent by the user.
Use the validation methods of cakephp to make sure the data is correct.
1] method one: add obscurity: hide the $id into a posted field by:
$this->Form->hidden('id');
$this->Form-field('id'); // even this one will do as cake hides ids by default
2] method two: keep the id on the server for instance in a session
$this->Session->write('current-edited-post-id', $id); // upon form display
$id = $this->Session->read('current-edited-post-id'); // upon form submission
but be warned thou, that method 2 doesn't behave well, if the user opens multiple tabs and operates one session from both of them :(
I am a beginner and I am creating some forms to be posted into MySQL using Zend, and I am in the process of debugging but I don't really know how to debug anything using Zend. I want to submit the form and see if my custom forms are concatenating the data properly before it goes into MySQL, so I want to catch the post data to see a few things. How can I do this?
The Default route for zend framework application looks like the following
http://www.name.tld/$controller/$action/$param1/$value1/.../$paramX/$valueX
So all $_GET-Parameters simply get contenated onto the url in the above manner /param/value
Let's say you are within IndexController and indexAction() in here you call a form. Now there's possible two things happening:
You do not define a Form-Action, then you will send the form back to IndexController:indexAction()
You define a Form action via $form->setAction('/index/process') in that case you would end up at IndexController:processAction()
The way to access the Params is already defined above. Whereas $this->_getParam() equals $this->getRequest()->getParam() and $this->_getAllParams() equals $this->getRequest->getParams()
The right way yo check data of Zend Stuff is using Zend_Debug as #vascowhite has pointed out. If you want to see the final Query-String (in case you're manually building queries), then you can simply put in the insert variable into Zend_Debug::dump()
you can use $this->_getAllParams();.
For example: var_dump($this->_getAllParams()); die; will output all the parameters ZF received and halt the execution of the script. To be used in your receiving Action.
Also, $this->_getParam("param name"); will get a specific parameter from the request.
The easiest way to check variables in Zend Framework is to use Zend_Debug::dump($variable); so you can do this:-
Zend_Debug::dump($_POST);
Zend framework is built on the top of the PHP . so you can use var_dump($_POST) to check the post variables.
ZF has provided its own functions to get all the post variables.. Zend_Debug::dump($this->getRequest()->getPost())
or specifically for one variable.. you can use Zend_Debug::dump($this->getRequest()->getPost($key))
You can check post data by using zend
$request->isPost()
and for retrieving post data
$request->getPost()
For example
if ($request->isPost()) {
$postData = $request->getPost();
Zend_Debug::dump($postData );
}
I've built a REST Server and now I want to rapidly test it from a Perl Client, using REST::Client module.
It works fine if I perform GET Request (explicitly setting parameters in the URL) but I can't figure out how to set those params in POST Requests.
This is how my code looks like:
#!/usr/bin/perl
use strict;
use warnings;
use REST::Client;
my $client = REST::Client->new();
my $request_url = 'http://myHost:6633/my_operation';
$client->POST($request_url);
print $client->responseContent();
I've tried with something similar to:
$client->addHeader ('my_param' , 'my value');
But it's clearly wrong since I don't want to set an HTTP predefined Header but a request parameter.
Thank you!
It quite straight forward. However, you need to know what kind of content the server expects. That will typically either be XML or JSON.
F.ex. this works with a server that can understand the JSON in the second parameter, if you tell it what it is in the header in the third parameter.
$client->POST('http://localhost:3000/user/0/', '{ "name": "phluks" }', { "Content-type" => 'application/json'});
The REST module accepts a body content parameter, but I found to make it work with a string of parameters, you need to set a proper content type.
So the following code works for me:
$params = $client->buildQuery([username => $args{username},
password => $args{password}]);
$ret = $client->POST('api/rest/0.001/login', substr($params, 1),
{'Content-type' => 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded'});
I've not used the REST module, but looking at the POST function, it accepts a body content parameter, try creating a string of the parameters and send that within the function
$client->POST($request_url, "my_param=my+value");
print $client->responseContent();
