Eclipse IDE - Python - eclipse

Is there a way to change the color of the comments in python code edito? I would like to make them more bright so that I can see them. At the moment they are greyish

I assume you are using PyDev for Eclipse. If not, you should probably install it, as it comes in quite handy.
Goto Preferences->PyDev->Editor. There you can adjust the colors.
Edit: This is what it looks like with PyDev: 6.5.0.

How to get rid of this white background color on all variables in Padre Perl IDE

Padre is always my favourite IDE for Perl. I downloaded from here:
http://code.google.com/p/dwimperl/downloads/detail?name=dwimperl-5.14.2.1-v7-32bit.exe&can=2&q=
I have one small problem. There is white block (like background color) around all variables, as shown in the attached image. This is on a XP machine. Most of other machines are not like this. How can I get rid of it?
http://tinypic.com/r/316x1ug/8
Wiki: Padre syntax highlighting
Follow this link. Go to the menu options, look for a backgroundcolor: entry. Then remove it and make it the correct color you want.
Otherwise create your own YML file for highlighting.
I would be more specific IF I could actually install padre, but this should get you in the right direction.

Eclipse Juno graphical bug?

I've been looking on Google for a solution to this, but I don't even know which words should I use to find it...
Anyway, my problem is that Eclipse looks like this in Linux Mint 14 x64:
http://i.stack.imgur.com/BBfyg.png
I'm using Eclipse downloaded from their webpage, not from the repositories.
I've tried resetting the perspective, deleting both the eclipse and workspace folders but it keeps looking like this.
Any ideas?
EDIT
I finally managed to get rid of it. It looks like it had something to do with GTK. I changed the appearance to Classic in Preferences and it solved it.
Going to Window > Preferences > General > Appearance and changing the theme to Classic seems to solve the problem.
Changing the Eclipse Preferences from GTK to Classic did not work for me. Only the background of some Eclipse components get displayed in gray then which makes the visual corruptions less visible.
Yet it helped to change the GTK theme in Linux Mint from "Mint-X" to "Adwaita", which also looks ok. So this could be a workaround.
Update: This is a bit bug/issue/missing feature in the Mint-X theme which can easily be fixed manually. See http://dentrassi.de/2013/04/23/fixing-the-mint-x-theme-for-eclipseswt/

Change annotation background colors in eclipse?

So in eclipse whenever there is an error it's underlined in red, and when you hover over it is displays an annotation with tips on how to fix the error. On my Windows OS it is correct and the background is a tanish color but on Ubuntu the background is black and I want it tanish like Windows. I know there is an annotation area under Preferences > General > Editors > Text Editors > Annotations, but I don't see a section to change background colors. Please help.
Oddly, colors and fonts are very poorly implemented in Eclipse. Quite a number of things are either extremely difficult to figure out or impossible. Looks like this one is impossible to modify. Perhaps there's an OS way to make those changes?
That said, I found an Eclipse plugin, Annotions Ruler Background. It looks like it should do the trick, but was designed for Indigo (3.7) and doesn't seem to work on Juno (4.2). Sigh.
You can install it from the usual way in Eclipse (help->eclipse marketplace->search, etc.). Their website is here.
If you're still on Indigo, give it a try.
I find this page, it works. http://ubuntu-user-tricks.blogspot.tw/2012/09/3-things-to-do-after-installing-eclipse.html
It change the theme tooltip background color, and foreground color if need.
You can install tool gnome-color-chooser or modify the configure directly (default at /usr/share/themes/Ambiance/gtk-2.0/gtkrc). If After you modify the theme configure, you need reload theme to use new config.

Issue with editor highlighting in Eclipse

I have an issue after switching to running Ubuntu when developing instead of Windows.
When I ran Eclipse in Windows, I could find the software market thing and get good and easy-to-use color themes from there to install. Since I couldn't find anything of this on my Ubuntu version, I decided to edit it all manually.
Here is my issue: I was able to adjust the color of the 'mark occurrences'-function that highlights all the all the places where a code piece occurs, but my program does something else to the place where variables are first declared. I took a simple screen shot that displays the problem:
http://www.freeimagehosting.net/19e90
When I disable 'mark occurrences', the super-bright highlighting on variable declarations do not go away, so it's not part of the same setting. I also can't find where I change the color of this, because it's quite annoying not to be able to read what's written due to the coloring of that highlight.
Do you know how I can disable this extra-marking of declarations? Or at least change the color of it? I can't find anything when googling it, but maybe I'm just searching for the wrong things.
Thanks in advance and sorry for this very long post!
I would recommend installing a new version of Eclipse on Ubuntu.
I'm developing on Kubuntu and have no issues. Make sure you delete all previous settings before reinstalling. Default settings should have them enabled.

Zenburn for Netbeans

Is there a Zenburn theme for Netbeans?
You can try Aloha color theme for Netbeans. It's similar to Zenburn.
UPDATE: for NetBeans 6.9 - zenburn color scheme
I had set one up manually for it, just like I did with a bunch of other editors/IDEs. Then eventually I just gave up and started using gvim for everything. Things are much easier now.
In all seriousness, when I was trying to do it for Netbeans, there seemed to be some limitations as to what you could change in the colors/syntax-highlighting. Though I don't recall specific examples offhand, there were a few things I couldn't get quite right, and it used to bother me.
If you want a color reference though, I have one on my wiki, for when I used to set up Zenburn in random editors, feel free to use it: http://wiki.steam-punk.net/zenburn
Oh how I wish there was, however it is possible to change the colors manually.
