Facebook Share Products - facebook

Good day,
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/changelog/breaking-changes#login-4-24
According to the above post, the publish_actions permission is deprecated, and that one should use the Sharing products to enable an app to post to facebook.
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing
The sharing products above allow one to share a video, or a picture, or a link to the facebook feed. However, I just want to post text. I don't think there's any documentation on how to do that.
Is it not allowed?
Kind regards,
Jon

No, it's not allowed anymore by the FB share products.

Providing users with a way to detag their Facebook photos

I run a social membership club and my website users can log into my site with each having their own profile page.
On each of my user's profile pages, I want to display a list of photos which have been tagged with that user on Facebook. I know this part is possible.
The bit I am struggling with is giving each of my users the ability to 'untag' themselves in each photo of them that is displayed in the list. The 'untagging' should happen directly from my site. Is this possible and how could I go about doing this?
Hope someone can help/has ideas?
Unfortunately, there's no facbeook API that allows removal of photo tags at this time of writing.
Its not documented and I haven't tested this but I'd chance issuing a DELTE request to
/PHOTO_ID/tags/USER_ID
Worth a shot through the graph explorer anyway.

Facebook SDK iPhone, friends list

I have one question.
I want to share photos from my application via facebook.
There is no problem to share it on my wall, but is there any possibility to share it on friend's wall ?
Something like click share button, log in, choose friends and share it on their wall ?
I have been searching application in appstore which can do that, but i found nothing.
You can post to a user's friend's feed using the Graph API, assuming the user granted you the relevant (publish_stream) permissions.
POST /[friend]/feed
message=hello&picture=http://...
I should stress strongly that users consider this very spammy behavior for apps, and it is not generally recommended.

Sharing links posted to a wall via an app

I've created an app which enables business to post links to their Facebook wall as the business (have proper business auth tokens, etc.).
However the links posted via the app do not have a share link, only comments and like. When a link is posted through the Facebook UI to the business wall it does contain a share link along with comments and like.
What am I missing to enable the link posted via my app to have a share link?
I am currently issuing a POST request to the following URL to create the posts:
https://graph.facebook.com/[profileId]/feed?message=[message]&link=[link]&...
this is a reported bug and have not been fixed yet. have a look (http://developers.facebook.com/bugs/307556529334653)
I think you will need publish_stream permission for that and publish what they write. IMO Facebooks makes difference between feed and stream. Just my thoughts :)
that's the standard procedure when you have a user post via app. I don't think there's a way to have users post as themselves, as far as links are concerned. What you can do is have them post a status update and that one will be seen as posted by the user (no app information).
There's no other procedure I am aware of that can do that. I hope this helps

Facebook - refer a friend

I'd like to enquire with the Facebook heads on here about how best to do the following:
I'd like to run a promotion from my Facebook business page that encourages users to recommend a friend in order to gain access to enter a competition. Obviously being in the Facebook environment it would be preferred to encourage Facebookers to refer friend's on their profile. Anybody know if there's an app out there (I've searched and not found) that does this? Does the Facebook API allow access to select specific friend(s) to notify on Facebook?
Thanks for your help & suggestions.
Yes, you need to have read_friendlists as an added permission to your facebook app.
From there I think you can do a FB.api() kind of call to get that information

I think the requests dialog does what you were looking for?

Facebook Photo Contest App Against FB's TOS?

What would be possible/best practice for a Photo Contest app?
Saving photos to a database and refreshing the contents with an "infinite session"? Exporting photos to my site getting written consent from my user?
I've gathered that it won't be possible to present users with a number of photos to vote on because the permissions for user's photos will often not allow just anyone (the public) to view them.
I've looked at SnapIt! Photo Contest on Facebook and it appears they are successful with what I'm trying to do. Are they breaking the Facebook TOS?
http://apps.facebook.com/snapitphoto
I'm new to Facebook development and want to be sure it is possible to do what I want before I become very invested. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks
You will need to get a facebook account representative to approve any competitions or sweepstakes. They may be able to guide you as to what you can and can't do.
If you upload a photo to SnapIt, then the photo is entirely under the control of SnapIt, and it shouldn't violate any of the Facebook rules that I am aware of.
But to be honest, you might want to check with a lawyer on that first, as I can't give true legal advice.
