I am a beginer in mongoDB and learning Mongodb atlas.
In MongoDB Atlas, Under database access created username and password ( password is system generated and has no special character)
Under Network access added a public ip address (allow access from anywhere)
Under database deployment loaded sample database.
Now I wanted to see my cluster data, so wanted to connect it to vs code or MongoDB Compass. I clicked connect, selected connect using mongo db compass, copied the string.
now i opened Mongodb compass, and under New connection i.e connect to a MongoDB deployment, i entered my URL
mongodb+srv://gourav_singh:7gamf8UkL8B6MET#cluster0.9dmds.mongodb.net/test
clicked Connect
But i got error as : Unable to connect: connect ECONNREFUSED 3.6.85.199:27017
How I can fix it, Looking for kind help. Thanks in advance
I try to connect with MongoDB Compass via ssh tunnel.
It worked before but now when I do it, it always connects to my local MongoDB instance instead of my remote one. Please have a look at the pictures below which show my settings. pretty sure it was also before like this but somehow now it connect to the wrong DB. When I connect manually via ssh (using exactly those credentials) I can see that the data is different.
What am I missing here?
connection
connection2
Via shell, I can directly connect to mongo database with this string
mongo --ssl host1,host2:port/MyDataBase...
And I land directly on the MyDataBase.
Is there a similar way to do it in Compass? I get connected to whole server and I can see all the other databases. I just want to connect to MyDataBase.
I am using the lattest version of Compass, so it may differ from your current version.
It is important the you are in the network of the server, or use a VPN connection, otherwise, it does not work.
Step 1
Step 2
Please, let me know if that works!
I’m trying to connect Pentaho PDI (CE) to mongoDB hosted by Atlas, but getting an error, complaining about the host name I believe.
All examples on the internet is for connecting pentaho with mongodb with host = localhost; somehow when I pass the Atlas hostname it doesn’t seem to resolve.
Anyone been able to connect pentaho to a mongodb atlas cluster that could help me please?
Oh, I’m able to connect via compass and via command line.
Any idea on what I may be doing wrong?
Thank you!
Since last week I can not access my mongoDb collections on Compose.io using any mongo client. Client log says it is connected to DB but when I want to list collections or view document says "Collection not found!". I till can connect with terminal and do there whatever I need.
Initially I thought it is a problem with my MacOS machine, but then I tried to connect from other computers and using different clients ( Mongo-Express, MongoHub ) still no luck.
Wondering if I'm experiencing this problem alone or other compose.io clients also do ?
Tried to grant readWrite role to my mongo user as advised here (MongoDB - admin user not authorized), this does not help either.
Contacted compose.io support, but they swear that did change anything.
Any advise appreciated.
Thank you.
I was trying to connect to slave node which fails with { [MongoError: not master and slaveOk=false] name: 'MongoError' }
. Connecting with MongoClient to primary node solves the problem.
