How to disable the whole browser inclusion in karma unit tests for ionic?
I followed the default tutorial and in keeps opening a browser. Do not need that. Terminal report is enough.
The watch functionality seems to not be working. It restarts when I save a file but does not reload the content.

I am making a testing scenarios using Ogurets framework which is cucumber + gherking combination.
The tests are for Flutter application written in Dart language.
I recently figured out that test driver does not execute actual app. For example in my case:
I have and app where is a Login feature. After navigating to Logout and clicking on it, app does not return the login screen(it does back-end work though), but when I execute actual app through main.dart file and not using Ogurets configuration everything works as expected.
So I was wondering,
Is there any possible way to execute actual app during testing scenario? Lets say It can execute release version of the app.
Not sure if it makes sense.
Thx for possible tips
So when Ogurets runs, it will execute a command to "flutter run" your application, and using the standard mechanism for Flutter Driver, it will create a tcp link between your running application and the Ogurets code. But to do this, you have to have the extra Flutter Driver code enabled in your application, so it is not possible to run your "actual app", otherwise this TCP link will not form.
Over this TCP link standard Flutter Driver commands are executed and you can also execute extra commands. So your actual app is being executed as if you are running it using "flutter run" - and you can even run it on a real device this way, but it can never be your released application as it will not have this extra TCP link code.
If you are having trouble understanding why your application is operating like this, the documentation for Ogurets Flutter does indicate how you can run and debug the two sides of the application, so you can be running your Flutter App in debug mode and then run your tests, have it connect and automate the app and then debug why it isn't coming back to your login page. This is what I would recommend you do.
I understand service-worker runs as a separate thread parallel to the main thread.
I have an android app that runs Webview. My app is in react and i use workbox strategies for caching.
Service worker updates everytime I do a new build. However the source file of service-worker.js is not available in the chrome dev tools for me to debug.
Any idea how i can get the file there so that i can put breakpoints and debug ?
PS: just few days before i could get the file for debugging the dev tools. I am not sure what has changed. I havent changed any settings the the browser.
I'm having the exact same problem with the same symptoms and timeframe. I tried everything I can think of and can no longer get remote debugging of a service worker running in an Android WebView to work.
Like you I am sure it was working in mid-February and stopped working in the last few weeks.
I submitted a bug to Google which you can find here.
I think we can only hope it will be fixed in an upcoming release of Chrome.
You can inspect your extension's service worker but it's tricky, I don't know why Chrome doesn't show the service worker in the default chrome extension devtools.
here is how you can do it:
open chrome://serviceworker-internals/?devtools
find your extension there, there is a textarea that shows console logs, every console log will show the extension path in chrome e.g.
Console: {"lineNumber":688,"message":"[crx-helper] connection error","message_level":3,"sourceIdentifier":3,"sourceURL":"chrome-extension://aobpjedackhiamobjolncblfckdgfjbk/background.bundle.js"}
get that sourceUrl chrome-extension://aobpjedackhiamobjolncblfckdgfjbk/background.bundle.js yours will have a different id, which you can also see in chrome://extensions
paste that path in a new tab and open devtools (screenshot).
I just created a draft app using ionic and wanted to see it on the browser using
ionic serve
but ran into an issue:
it kept failing to open the browser and I had to open Firefox manually. so I was curious if there is a way around this? managing permissions and stuff.. or I have to live with it!
Thanks for your insights
ionic serve don't know which browser to run, so, add a default browser.
ionic serve -f firefox
I have created my first Ionic app using CLI, so I did:
ionic start my-project --v2 blank
I run ionic serve command inside the project's folder, and I can see the brand new project in the browser. I did some changes in the project and run ionic serve again, perfectly fine.
I created another project with CLI:
ionic start second-project --v2 blank
Then, I run ionic serve from inside the second project's folder and the first one is actually loaded, not the second one.
What did I miss?
I didn't try to clear the browser history but I remembered that I did play around with Service Workers in my first app, it was a PWA.
So I ran ionic serve then opened Chrome's Developer Tools and found out that it was still there, so I Unregistered the service worker and deleted it under the Cache Storage section.
Stopped and ran ionic serve again and it loads the right app now.
This is how I solved this issue.
Chrome was still using the cache from that previous app. I ran ionic serve it loaded my wrong app, then I opened the Developer Tools, and under Applications tab, Service Workers option, it was there.
I clicked the 'Unregister' option, then under 'Cache Storage' section I deleted the registered previous application's cache with the right click option. This solved my problem.
I want to package and launch my BlackBerry Hello World application for WebWorks. For developement, I am using the Ripple emulator. The Ripple simulator says:
The build and deploy services are not currently running, would you like to start them?
After pressing the button Start Services nothing happens and no errors are in the error console.and i also did below steps as i have searched and get this result:
There are two reasons this might be happening. The first is that Chrome is preventing this from happening.
Open the Tools --> Extensions screen in Chrome
Enable 'Developer Mode' checkbox if it isn't already
Are you running Chrome in Incognito mode? If so enable the 'Allow in Incognito' checkbox
The other options is that nodejs is being blocked. If you're on windows, I'd suggest making sure that all user permissisons are enabled to allow you to run Chrome in a way that it can launch external processes.
And After doing all when ever i refresh page it says
The build and deploy services are currently running at localhost:9910. and after loading that page this message not visible but
The build and deploy services are not currently running, would you like to start them? message still there! please explain what's wrong here?
Thanks
This issue is solved by removing Ripple extension version 0.9.15 and installing version 0.9.16 (latest as of this posting), and restarting Chrome. When you click the 'Start Services' button, the console should appear displaying a build service start up message.

Install the latest beta and it should work!
