I want to build apk release on Flutter, I already follow and implemented this link: https://flutter.dev/docs/deployment/android for pro-guards, key, etc.
But when I run "flutter build apk". I get the error.

Can someone help me?
You need to migrate your project to AndroidX. Check this guideline to migrate to AndroidX.

Why I am getting this error. Anyone please help me.
Thanks
This is because some of your dependencies that you are using in your project doesn't support null-safety or Your project itself doesn't support null-safety but using dependencies that supports null-safety. To get rid of this problem you can try upgrading the dependency that is causing the error and if there's no update available for that plugin that run your project using below command :
To Run
flutter run --no-sound-null-safety
To Build
flutter build apk --release --no-sound-null-safety
This error comes when your project or package is not supported on null safety
when you are trying to run the project its gives you an error which you see in your picture
if you want to run without null safety use this command
flutter run --no-sound-null-safety
when you hit this command on your project it should be run if you face any error kindly comment
Press Run
Edit Configurations
Add Additional Run args
--no-sound-null-safety
I just ran into this. I tried to build for Windows and got the null-safety error but the output did not say which packages were the problem, it just showed several paths to Visual Studio.
I then tried to build for Chrome and it did list the packages that did not support null-safety. Hope this helps.
in my case i just type the major version avalaible for the dependency and it works!
from
shared_preferences:
to
shared_preferences: ^2.0.16
With the flutter pub update command, it threw me a reference to the shared_preferences dependency and after investigated options I saw this solution and applied it and it worked fine
I've been trying to build an apk for my app but its failing and I don't understand why
this is what is shwoing
i tried to build using this command that was given to me in comments
flutter build apk --no-tree-shake-icons
but its showing me this new error now
Try add this when build your apk --no-tree-shake-icons
Generally, for errors that seem odd like this, running flutter clean then flutter pub get in the terminal helps.
My flutter application is using a plugin that has been discontinued. The app runs well in an emulator but android studio gives out the message 'java uses or overrides a deprecated API' when I try to build an apk. I don't want to go through the hassle of finding a different plugin now and change the code everywhere. Is there a way to build the apk on android studio without having to update dependencies?
ps. I'm creating this app purely for coding practice.
i had same problem and these follow steps solved my problem:
flutter clean
flutter pub get
flutter build apk --release --split-per-abi
if there is a deprecated api, it will recompile with -Xlint
i just setup my android studio and vs code and flutter SDK installed but any time i try running the project i get this Gradle error, i cant figure out what the problem is please help me out.
After running the flutter doctor everything seems to be okay.
the problem might be caused by many factors so lets try some solutions
after each one rebuild your app if the error message changed or the problem solved please keep us informed
run these commands one by one
flutter channel stable
flutter upgrade --force
flutter pub cache repair
cd your app folder
flutter clean
edit app/build.gradle in your host app such as it includes the local repo
like in here
repositories {
maven {
url 'https://storage.googleapis.com/download.flutter.io'
}
}
use VPN and rebuild your app
I wanted to run a background process in flutter.I used the code in https://pub.dev/packages/workmanager#-example-tab- and added the dependency required in pubspec.yaml file.
But I am getting "The built failed likely due to AndroidX incompatibilities in a plugin".The detail of the which I am sharing in the screenshot below(2 images):
I tried checking my gradle.properties file as suggested in some posts.But useAndroidX,enableJetifier were set "true".The details of gradle.properties is below:
android.useAndroidX=true
android.enableJetifier=true
This is my flutter doctor -v details:
The flutter build --verbose
I recently got this error, while using cloud_firestore plugin.
Since, Starting from Flutter v1.12.13, new projects created with flutter use AndroidX by default, therefore that didn't solve my problem.
After several times doing Pub get with any versions of plugin,
I figured all you have to do is:
• Go to android/app/build.gradle of your Flutter project, and
• Set minSdkVersion 21
Now, on running flutter build apk, the error should go away.
you just need to migrate to AndroidX maybe
