Is IBM a supported provider for Terraform? - ibm-cloud

Can anyone tell me what if there are any plans to add IBM Object storage to the list of providers for Terraform?
https://www.terraform.io/docs/providers/
Per these posts, people are using it on IBM.
IBM does have a couple of docs referring to Terraform, but it does not appear to have gone through IBM's AIT certification process.

Service Fabric .NET Framework services and ApplicationInsights.config endpoints for Azure gov

I have a service fabric application that hosts api’s with app insights enabled. The api services are .Net framework 4.8 webapi projects and they are native fabric stateless and stateful services. I don’t use the app insights service fabric specific packages, but do have the standard app insights for webapi packages. I have always been in Azure commercial and logs have worked just fine there.
Now that we are in azure gov, the only way to point a .Net Framework app to the gov app insights endpoints is by modifying the ApplicationInsights.config file.
So I’ve modified the file as per msdn, verified it is deployed with the fabric deploy package and its there next to the rest of the dlls on the vms. Yet my services still won’t log to azure gov app insight instances. Nothing is coming through. We set the instrumentation key programmatically, not in applicationinsights.config, could that be an issue? I noticed some of the msdn examples showed instrumentationkey being included in the config file, but would think that is optional.
Had anyone had experience pointing .net 4.8 fabric services to gov app insights?
When using a government cloud, you need to use a connection string instead of an instrumentation key.
Important
Sovereign clouds, such as Azure Government, require the use of the
Application Insights connection string
(APPLICATIONINSIGHTS_CONNECTION_STRING) instead of the instrumentation
key. To learn more, see the APPLICATIONINSIGHTS_CONNECTION_STRING
reference.
More info here and here.
This ended up being an issue with my gov configuration file. The MSDN document wasn't very clear on where the new config sections go. It made it look like they are all nested under the top level node of the config file. Turns out the TelementyChannel override has to go inside the default TelemenySinks node. I contacted microsoft on github about clarifying this in their docs.

Unable to add a service to IBM Watson Studio

I cannot create a project in IBM Watson Studio for an online course (sponsored by IBM by the way). I keep getting this error:
"You can only have one instance of a Lite plan per service. To create a new instance, either delete your existing Lite plan instance or select a paid plan".
I am performing the following steps:
1.Watson Studio
2.Create (Lite Plan Option)
3.Get Started
4.Create Project
5.Create Empty Project
6.Select Storage Service --> Here I get the error message
I need to create a Jupyter Notebook in IBM Watson Studio in order to complete the course.
I've deleted the Watson instance and started from scratch several times. I have also created a new account and tried the solutions posted on this forum for similar cases, without success.
Thank you in advance for your help
Looks like you have Lite account on IBM Cloud and here's the limitation with the account type
You can provision one instance of any service in the IBM Cloud catalog
that has a Lite plan.
You can check What's available with your Lite account of IBM Cloud here.
You may have to delete the other service provisioned under Lite plan before creating the Cloud Object Storage service or you can choose the Standard plan of Cloud Object storage service.
To check the Lite services which you already created in your account, navigate to Resource list. You may have to delete

Is IBM Cloud available in China?

I plan to use IBM Cloud to deploy an application from Shanghai.
Is there any limitation for IBM Cloud in China? Can anyone confirm whether the platform is available without a VPN?
IBM Cloud will totally work in China and it will work without VPN as well. The only thing probably need to noted is the closest IAAS data center is located in Japan. hope this help

How to integrate Watson IOT service to Hyperledger Fabric?

Due to IBM doesn't provide free plan for IBM Blockchain anymore, I come up with with solution to integrate Watson IOT to Hyperledger Fabric instead of IBM Blockchain.
I found this document, it say that Watson IoT Platform blockchain integration supports connecting to both IBM Blockchain fabrics and Hyperledger fabrics
(in section Config Blockchain IBM environment)
But I can not find any guideline.
Anyone can help?
I have several related comments:
1) The page you linked to shows an early version of the IoT Contract Platform that I authored. I have not been funded to port it to Hyperledger v1 so it must be considered deprecated at this time. Instead, I suggest that you get comfortable with the Hyperledger Composer, which provides a huge development environment and a powerful data modelling language.
https://hyperledger.github.io/composer/introduction/introduction.html
2) Which leads me to IBM's free container service. If you want to get started with IBM Blockchain on Bluemix, you can create a free kubernetes cluster using the instructions found here.
https://ibm-blockchain.github.io/
The "create_all" script gives you a working fabric on a lite cluster (as in free) with hyperledger composer running (with playground) and with a copy of the example02 ubiquitous sample Go chaincode running on the same channel.
https://github.com/IBM-Blockchain/ibm-container-service
EDIT: As for the iot connection, you can use node-red to create iot apps that will catch your events on a topic and then forward them to the blockchain. This is for experimentation of course, but you will get the idea how an application must be written.
If you want to follow my "partial state as event" pattern in composer contracts, you can look at the deep-merge npm project and mimick that code while we wait for the node based chaincode that is coming in Fabric 1.1, at which time I hope that we can import it as normal in our business network js files.
Using deep-merge requires that you create your own transactions for create, replace, update and delete in your smart contracts, but these are straightforward. The bonus is that it is also easy then to emit custom events defining what happened to listening applications.
I think you will like these two technologies together.
Instead of using the IBM Blockchain, you should create your own Blockchain. You should use the Hyperledger Fabric for that. You have the documentacion about it here. I suggest you to start reading from the Building Your First Network chapter.
Then, you should integrate your Blockchain with the Watson IoT.

How to develop bluemix CAM

Is there any github source where IBM Cloud automation manager source code is there? Can I extend CAM's functionalities? Or should I extend terraform's capabilties instead?
IBM Cloud Automation Manager running on ICP platform has the ability to deploy bluemix templates built in. Use the "IBM Cloud" connection type to build your connection data, and then you can use the already included.
For details on the connection see https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SS2L37_2.1.0.1/cam_creating_ibm_cloud_connection.html
For details on what the IBM Cloud terraform provider can do check it's github here:
