I have pay button on my website. I want to send receipt to customer email about the details of the product that they just bought, i.e. product dimensions, product history, product manual. How to do?
Thanks.
If your button does not use an API to capture, then use webhooks or IPN to receive the notification on your webserver, and send the email from there.

I'm building Invoicing system.
My client wants to send PayPal invoices without loggin to PayPal account.
I managed to make CreateInvoice() and CreateAndSendInvoice() functions to work (thanks to #Andrew Angell again!!!).
But now I need to "pay" the order. How do I act as a buyer, and pay the invoice?
There was no actually email sent to my box. I do see related record in 'notifications': "You've received an invoice XXX from YYY". But how, how do I "pay" it?
If you login to http://sandbox.paypal.com using the email address of the account that you sent the invoice to you'll see the invoice in the history just like a regular receiver would. You can pay it directly from there.
I have website with "PayPal buy now" button.
How do I automatically get the customers which to make a payment?
I need to get the price, email and product name
You can use Instant Payment Notification to receive real-time POST notifications of all transaction data that hits your PayPal account. This will allow you to automate tasks like updating a database, sending email notifications, hitting 3rd party web services, etc.
I am creating a simple online paypal commerce and I have some doubts
on how sending data to seller and buyer when order payment is done. The
scenario looks like this:
Each product (legal documents) has a different form because in order to
deliver the product buyer need to specify different information for each
item. Studying Paypal documentation I have learnt that I can add hidden
fields and send them with transaction when I click the Buy Button or Add
To Cart.
When the payment is done:
buyer will receive the confirmation of payment (ok sent by paypal)
seller will receive all necessary information to fill the documents
for each product in one email.
I have noticed using sandbox that buyyer can add note for seller with payment
but unfortunatlly the textarea allow only a limitated text.
Please let me know if I understand correctly. When the payment is done Paypal
send back all data (IPN) to paypal script (including all information sent via
using the form). In that case I should be able to check if the transaction was
completed and if so doing the parser of the reply and send data via email using
PHP to seller. Is it correct?
Does anyone can show me a simple example?
Thanks a lot.
When transaction is complete (subscription, one time web form payment, express checkout or something else ) , Paypal sends authorization query to your IPN script (link to which is defined in your Paypal profile)
The IPN values are described here
https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/ebook/subscriptions/Appx-ipn_subscription_variables.html
or here

Im using Website Payments Standard so users can pay for a rating to be shown on their profile. Im also using IPN to check if the payment went through. How do I relate the two? When I get an IPN request to my listener, how do I know which user and rating it relates to?
If users are initiating payment through a buy it now or shopping cart button embedded in your site, you can set some sort of text box where the user enters their user name. this info will be sent with the Ipn. This is set up on the pay pal sure where you create the buttons.
Another method would be get their actual name from the ipn. Check the documentation for a list of variables that are sent with the ipn, there are a lot of possibilities.
There is a request money by email feature on paypal - (where you can put email of some person and he can send you money)
Does it have an API ? (So I want to request money by email from my application)
So the answer is - no such API
It looks like you can send invoices (request money) by email with the Invoicing Service API
You can create your own personal PayPal.Me/name link (it's open to both personal and business use) and it will be associated with your PayPal account.
Whenever you need to collect money from anyone, just send them your PayPal.Me link via email (or chat, SMS...).
Your payer clicks the link, enters the amount, and that's it. The money is in your PayPal account in seconds (you'll pay the standard PayPal fee for a business account).
To request a specific amount just add it to the end of your link. For example, use
PayPal.Me/name/25
to request 25 USD. You can request a specific currency by adding the currency code to the amount, e.g.
PayPal.Me/name/25EUR
IT has that facility. you have to generate url. its mentioned at
https://www.x.com/developers/community/blogs/ppmtschad/creating-hyperlink-instead-paypal-button
First method is to use the Invoice API to generate the request and have paypal send out the email.
See https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/Merchant/bizui/IntegrationDirect-outside
Second method is to use the buy now buttons. First create the product in the paypal account, then create a buy now button for it. It'll give an option for Email. You can then send that link out whenever you want.
See https://www.x.com/developers/community/blogs/ppmtschad/creating-hyperlink-instead-paypal-button and
Third option is the rarely advertised custom cart URL. I don't have anything that details this however the following sample link can get you started.
https://secure.paypal.com/xclick/business=EMAIL%40DOMAIN.COM&item_name=Cart_Invoice_Custom_Name&amount=123.45&return=www.yourwebsite.com¤cy_code=EUR
Remember to properly URL encode things. All the variables for dynamic buttons that I've tried work fine. Details of those are at https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_pdn_xclick_techview_outside
