I've developed a macOS app written with Swift. For testing I archived then Distribute for AppStore and export it. The exported folder includes MyApp.pkg file then I zipped .pkg file and send it to testers. But when app is installed and they try to open it there is an error with The application can't be opened.
In my current development laptop, it works but in testers not working. I try to execute it with
chmod +x "/MyApp.app/Contents/MacOS/MyApp" but there is no response.
How can I solve the problem for working it in testers laptops.
Thanks in advance!
An app archived and then distributed for the App Store cannot be sent directly to testers. It must be downloaded from the App Store. A pkg file is useless to individuals. You need to distribute for people! Send them an app, not a pkg.

How do I generate IPA file for my ionic app without using Mac? Is it even possible?
Currently, I just need the generated IPA file; I don't need to deploy the app to the App Store.
I've looked around and these are what I got:
Use Ionic package - unfortunately, all links to Ionic package that I got are all dead. So can I assume this service is dead?
Use https://build.phonegap.com/ . I know Ionic is based on Phonegap, but does this service actually supports compiling Ionic codes without needing me to modify anything? And even if it can, I read that it needs some sort of certificates to compile to IPA. Is there any way I can get the certificate without a Mac?
Use MacInCloud.com. If the options above aren't available, I plan to purchase the pay-as-you-go plan. My question is, do this thing allows me to compile to IPA without me needing any other stuff? Like certificates or whatsoever.
I’m using Ionic Pro (https://ionicframework.com/appflow) to build an IPA and diawi.com to send the app to my clients for testing. To publish app in Apple App Store, I’m using MacInCloud.
I understand Swift is a new language and I also understand what Beta means but still it is possible and necessary to test deploy newly creates apps on the phone without updating it to iOS8.
However when I tried to use the TestFlight service, as I have done in the past (I know Apple has acquired the company), all works great until TestFlight tries to install the app on the phone. At that time one receives an error message ..."cannot be installed at this time" ...
Does anybody have an idea how I can make TestFlight work or have a viable alternative so I can test my app on the phone of somebody remote.
Any insight is highly appreciated.
Export the IPA as you normally would, making sure that you use your AdHoc provisioning profile for the release (in the build settings).
Then here's the workaround to get it to work with testflight.
Open a terminal and go to the directory where the IPA lives
ditto -xk myapp.ipa /tmp/myapp
ditto -ck --norsrc /tmp/myapp ./myapp-after.ipa
rm -rf /tmp/myapp
Upload myapp-after.ipa as your TestFlight build.
I've developed a program named FMiner, it's a web scraping software base on PySide(webkit). I moved it to Mac OS X with Py2App, and made it to a dmg file with the script like this:
os.system(r'macdeployqt fminer.app’)
os.system(r'hdiutil create fminer-mac-' +gdata.VERSION + r'.dmg -volname "fminer" -fs HFS+ -srcfolder "dist"')
It work fine, when people download and install it.
But how to submit it to app store? I just found this link: Is it possible to deploy a Python application on the Mac App Store?, but it's outdate. And I'm not family with xcode, I need the details of steps.
I wrote a comprehensive article explaining how to build and submit a Python app to the Mac App Store. It includes source code and build scripts for a barebones example app that I have successfully submitted.
Submitting a Python App to the Mac App Store
I am working on an iPhone application for a customer. After the development will be finished the application will be on the Apple Store, but meanwhile during its development, on a regular basis the customer wants to see and install the application on his own phone to check the current status of the development.
-I went to the provisioning portal registered my customer's device udid and added to my application's provisioning profile.
-I downloaded the provisioning profile and installed it.
-I then built the ipa and sent it to my customer.
SHouldn't this be enough?
The customer is experimenting a sync error. He can import the ipa inside itunes but at the end of the sync he receive this error alert on his iphone.I tested this ipa file on two other iphones and is working (both registered and one is ios 5.1 and the other 5.0.1)..Where should I check for misconfigurations?
I'm running the latest xcode version 4.3.1
Make sure you build with the distribution provision. I use a new Xcode build configuration for this (called Ad Hoc) and I make sure my archive build uses this new build configuration. The customer will need a copy of this distribution provision (which he double clicks), and you send him the ipa file. He drags this into his iTunes library and he is then able to install the app to his device.
Sometimes the provisioning profile needs to be installed on the device separately. I encountered this problem once with my team member who had Windows.
Just send your customer the profile and ask to install it on the device.
You may need iPhone Configuration Utility to install the profile on the device.
how can I deploy my prototype app in order to test it on my iphone? obviously it isn't at the stage where it can go on the app store but I;d like to play about with it for testing..
Do I HAVE to enrol in the developer program?
You need to be enrolled in the Apple Developer Program to receive a certificate you can use to sign your apps to be installed on your iDevice.
In short, yes. But you knew that.
Although we as a developer don't suggest illegal installation, but some developers may find it is actually easier with the dark method:
Install you iPhone or iPad with "Installous" and "iFile",
with iFile, you can open a wifi port for any computer in the same wifi network to access the machine from there browser and upload file to the machines (without using iTune), so you can put your *.ipa file in the machine.
In order to manually install the ipa file, you may want to use the Installous, so what someone will do is to put the ipa to the [root]/mobile/Documents/Installous/Downloads, then when you open up Installous, go to Downloads, you will see your ipa and be able to install it!
Hope this hope.
