I was reading through this website https://experience.sap.com/fiori-design-web/label/ and saw this:
So I was like "Sweet let's try it out!" and added required="true" to my label:
<Label required="true" text="E-Mail"/>
and this is what I got:
How do I bring the asterisk to the left side?
I'm using v1.81.0
The asterisk used to be on the left side but the new Fiori design guideline requires it to be on the right side which is implemented in UI5 since 1.73. Here is the related commit: https://github.com/SAP/openui5/commit/11544b855407af6f1025e8a855dc46701648779d.
The new design for sap.m.Label requires the asterisk
to be in the right side of the label.
The picture in the guideline page is outdated.
As the latest version of UI5 targets the latest Fiori design guidelines, I'd discourage from using any custom CSS which often leads to inconsistent UI and higher maintenance costs.
We faced a similar dilemma in one of our recent projects. We had no choice but to override the standard css. It is not suggested to override the standard CSS but it sure can be taken into account as a last resort.
As we wanted this property to be enabled for all the labels in the project we did override the standard CSS. You can also provide a custom class and override. Below is the css to remove the "*" from the right and place it on the left of the text.
.sapMLabelRequired:before {
content: "*";
color: #c14646;
font-family: "72", "72full", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 1rem;
font-weight: bold;
position: relative;
vertical-align: middle;
line-height: 0;
}
.sapMLabel.sapMLabelRequired .sapMLabelColonAndRequired:after {
content: "" !important;
}

I have seen a few questions and also searched the internet. It sounds like the answer to this question should be simple.
Here is my contact form:
http://www.publictalksoftware.co.uk/contact-form/
I am using the Contact Form 7 plugin.
My issue relates to the Submit button. I have used "Additional CSS":
.wpcf7 input[type="submit"]
{
font-weight: normal;
background: #eeeeee!important;
color:black;
}
But the result is like this:
But that is not right. It should be like this:
Why is this happening?
I have added more CSS to size the botton and add rounded corners. Also hover effect. But my colours are still not being honored.
First, create a id for the Submit button then provide the CSS for that id:
input#id
{
font-weight: normal;
background: #eeeeee!important;
color:black;
}
I'm having trouble finding which file to change the css in Moodle tool. In pagia the "view profile", the data is cut by "..." I would vizualisar throughout.
Follow the link to the image:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ewzdf4mj4vwfmcc/sesi.JPG
Right click on it and press the INSPECT BUTTON in Chrome. You will see a panel that says wich file is the one been used.
In moodle, There is chance to come mostly css from selected theme.
If the css is not coming from selected theme then it may from standard theme or from particular module.
The css is put into one large file for performance. To switch this off, add this line to config.php
$CFG->themedesignermode = true;
Remove the line or set it to false after you have finished because it will make the site verrrry slow...
http://docs.moodle.org/dev/Creating_a_theme#Theme_designer_mode
Refresh the profile page and now you can use inspect element in Chrome, it should show the original css file.
It seems to be this file /theme/canvas/style/core.css
Around lines 288 to 296 (In Moodle 2.5.4)
.userprofile dl dt {
padding-left: 0;
font-weight: bold;
display: inline-block;
padding-right: 2%;
min-width: 100px;
width: 15%;
clear: both;
}
So edit this file in your theme
/theme/yourthemename/style/core.css
And add this to override the default min-width.
.userprofile dl dt {
min-width: 120px;
}
Refresh the profile page and it should display okay. 120px seems to be minimum for "Endereço de email" to be displayed in full.
Don't forget to remove this or set it to false after you have finished - config.php
$CFG->themedesignermode = false;
I 've tried to give css to scrollpanel in GWT. But its not working.
The problem is I want to change the foregroung and background colors and also the width of scrollers.
Is it possible? can any1 suggest?
Generally it is based on the browser user agent.
For example : For Chrome You need to do something like,
::-webkit-scrollbar { width: 3px; height: 3px;}
::-webkit-scrollbar-button { background-color: #666; }
::-webkit-scrollbar-track { background-color: #999;}
::-webkit-scrollbar-track-piece { background-color: #ffffff;}
::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb { height: 50px; background-color: #666; border-radius: 3px;}
::-webkit-scrollbar-corner { background-color: #999;}}
::-webkit-resizer { background-color: #666;}

GWT scrollbars are simply html ones, so you can style them in the same way you would do with plain html: using css.
Add a class to your ScrollPanel and set the styles in your .css files, or set styles to it using java methods.
But you have to be aware that styling scroll-bars is not a standard thing, webkit supports it via vendor-css-properties and the same with IE, but unfortunately you will not be able to style FF.
UPDATE:
As #Andrea suggest in the comment below, if you can change in your app ScrollPanel by CustomScrollPanel you have much more options to customize bars.
In this case you have to provide your own bars because by default it uses browser native ones. This response can help you.
I am in learning phase of GWT GXT,
I my project some of the css are working fine , but some are showing me a strange behavior .
for login button.
logonBtn = new TextButton("Connect");
logonBtn.setIconAlign(IconAlign.RIGHT);
logonBtn.setIcon(Resources.INSTANCE.login());
logonBtn.setStyleName("Project-Button");
Css
.Project-Button {
color: Black;
border: thin outset #FF6600;
font-family: Courier New, Century Gothic, Times New Roman, Verdana, Arial;
vertical-align: middle;
background-position: left center;
background-color: White;
cursor: pointer;
}
But when i run the project , this css is not showing any effect on connect button.
In my Project i have i have 6 or 7 TextButton.
But this css is showing effect in only one of these buttons
I tried to use Firebug to see the problem. I see there is no Project-Button css attached with this textButton.
Attached is the Image of fireBug.
If somebody understand this , please explain and give the solution.
Thanks in Advance.
If tou change GXT Text button style you have to write your ButtonCellAppereance. GXT button styles too complex as other gxt widgets. example link about appereance
1: http://www.slideshare.net/senchainc/ext-gwt-30-theming-and-appearances i started a project on gwt projects as theme project link
but i have no more time to develop. good hacking...
I'm trying to style a select input on iOS. The first option or initial state should have smaller font-size but not the rest of the options.
I have the following html structure:
<select class="dropdown">
<option selected="" value="Navigation">Navigation</option>
<option value="some-link">Whatever</option>
<option value="some-link">Another option</option>
<option value="some-link">Why</option>
<option value="some-link">What</option>
</select>
My CSS for it looks like this:
select {
-webkit-appearance: none;
font-family: 'Custom-Font', sans-serif;
font-size:.5em
line-height:1.8em; // optical center
background-color: #ccc;
color: #333;
border: none;
padding: 6px 10px 4px 10px;
}
.dropdown {
background-image: url(img/assets.svg);
background-position: right 2px;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
width: 100%;
display:block;
margin-bottom:-1.5em;
option:not(:first-of-type) {
font-size:1.5em;
}
}
The <select> menu looks exactly like I want it to look. It says "Navigation" inside a light-gray box with a rather small font-size.
However when clicking/tapping the select on my iphone the native UI view of iOS shows all options also in a very small font-size.
How can I just make the selected option (or the box itself) use the custom formatting but not the options. I want my options to have a "normal" readable font-size.
Any ideas on that? I tried with option:not(:first-of-type) and increase the font-size but no effect!
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to do it. iOS Safari takes full control of styling select lists' internal contents. Here's a reference for verification: little link.
One way to achieve this this would be to simulate the dropdown/select menu using JavaScript.
It's not very preferable, but if you absolutely require to change the default styling, then I'm afraid it's the only way to go; here's a demo that should give you an idea on how to do the simulation: another little link.
Try this 100% worked for me
select {
-webkit-appearance: none;
-moz-appearance: none;
appearance: none;
}
For what it's worth - I had a transparent <select> dropdown with a border radius when closed. On iOS (I'm not sure about android, I didn't test it) the default grey box for the <select> would appear inside of my custom border which was unappealing and unwanted.
To get rid of the inner grey box I used the following CSS:
-webkit-appearance: none;
And further more - pertaining to this OP's topic. Bootstrap offers a convenient solution with great documentation to enable custom dropdowns with Javascript. Check it out here.
