Is it possible to merge two sprites in Unity? - unity3d

I am making a 2d customizable character. I want to go with sprite based animations. So I have created different parts that can be customized. For example eyes can be swapped by different types of eyes by just changing the sprites of sprite renderer. This works fine with still images but does not with animations. I want to merge the sprite of base player with the sprite of an eye to make a single sprite. So I have two sprites and I want to make one sprite out of that and then let the sprite renderer render that sprite. Is it even possible? If so, how?

how can I make a player hidden by terrain always visible?

I am making a 3D isometric game, in my game, there is a lot of holes and the player can go into them, but the problem is when he goes into one of them he becomes invisible, I can,t move the camera it will change the concept I tried using shader like the one in this video but it makes the entire terrain transparent and glitchy (I am using unity terrain) so I am stuck and I need Idea how to make the layer visible inside the hole
What you're asking can be achieved in multiple ways, depending on your render pipeline and requirements.
If you're working with the Universal Render Pipeline (URP), you could create a Forward Renderer asset and create a custom render pass whenever your player is occluded by terrain.
You could assign a new Layer to the player, such as "Player", then select or deselect said mask from the Filters > Layer Mask properties of the Forward Render Data. Then assign the same or a custom material for when the player is occluded by terrain.
Alternatively, you could create either a cutout or a dither shader using Shader Graph, on which there are many tutorials
Camera GameObjects give you the option to select what layer you want them to "see" (render) using the culling mask. Think of layers as grouping GameObjects and giving that group a name.
You can have multiple cameras at the same time each one with a different name and different layer to render, or even change the viewing layer of a single camera depending on changes happening in the game.
Assign a layer tag in each of the terrain elements in your scene and have the camera render them accordingly and "cull" the rest.

How to align sprites of smaller sizes to a moving gameobject sprite?

I used to have a game object used as a sword with sprites with a specific size, despite including quite a bit of transparent space, to ensure these are aligned properly with the player game object:
This ensures the sword follows the player as he jumps by making use of the hero transition like this transform.position = hero.transform.position; , and though there may be issues with sprite changes I would address these later.
However, since I want to have several different equipment, and other sprites of this same sword might need a bigger dimension to look good (such as a sword attack while standing on the ground), I could either make even bigger sprites which would eventually affect performance due to transparent pixels loading, or I thought of making sprites with specific sizes:
(if this works I'd make sure to draw and put them close together instead of being separate)

I'm assuming something else has to be changed frame by frame, but what could it be? Is there a way to align or anchor a smaller sprite to follow the pivot of a bigger sprite?
All rotation or changing of sprites is done relative to the sprite's Pivot Point.
When you currently swap your sprites, your sword looks like it is rotating on it's blade rather than the handle.
Change the Pivot point to the handle, and it will do most of the work.
The rest is just making sure the handle of the sword follows the character's hands.

Can I have multiple sprites on one game object in Unity?

So I'm making a 2d top down game and one of my enemies is supposed to be a tank. I have two separate sprites for this tank, one for the tracks/body and one and for the turret. I want to have one game object contain both of these sprites. I would just combine them into one sprite but I want to have the turret rotate itself to face the player using a script I wrote while keeping the tracks pointed in the direction the tank is moving. Is this possible? I'm new to Unity but, I cant think of another way to accomplish this goal.
A good way to do this would be have a parent game object A with two children game objects B and C. B can have a sprite for base and C can have a sprite for the top. You can then rotate each game object individually and can still use gameObject.GetComponent(). To move the tank move the parent.

Specify walkable area in Unity 2D

I want to limit the area where my player can walk. In this case only on red segments.
And I want to use 2D sprites as background images not 3D models. But my main player would be in 3D
Can I use NavMesh here? Or should it be done with Tilemap? Or should I place some 3D objects above it?

Breaking up a sprite in cocos2d

I'm making a 2D plane fighting game for the iPhone in cocos2d. I'm trying to make it so when you shoot an enemy plane, it breaks into a couple of separated pieces that will fall out of sight. What is generally the best practice for breaking one sprite up into many? should I create new images for each separate piece, or treat the initial image like a sprite sheet, and make a new sprite from segments?

It makes a grid of points then moves the internal (not-edge) ones around randomly a bit so it's not all perfect triangles. Then each update it moves/rotates the triangles separately--then draws them all at once.
You treat the whole thing as a sprite, so can run any of the usual actions on it. This example uses CCMoveBy to move the whole group down off the bottom.
