When i add flutter web support to a project, any other option like, for ex. launch app on android emulator dissapears(in vs code).
I have not found any sign of trace on official docs about it. It's a bug or there is a way to fix this?
Yes you need to disable web support again to start coding for android/ios. You can do that by this command in your cmd : flutter config --no-enable-web

I want to know that if it is possible to make flutter app for web without using HTML, css or javascript and only using flutter and dart
Yes, it is absolutely possible to create a web app using flutter and dart.
To add web support in the existing flutter project you can run the command flutter create . and to release it run the command flutter build web
For testing your app in chrome you can use command flutter run -d chrome
You can disable android support using command flutter config --no-enable-android and disable ios support using command flutter config --no-enable-ios
Yeah, it is not need to build web app with HTML,CSS & JS, your flutter code alone will work.
Note: try flutter upgrade bcs v-2.0.0 stable release for web got released
Yes, you can use Dart/Flutter exclusively to build web apps. You don't need to write any HTML/CSS/Javascript.
You can setup your project from the terminal (like previous comments suggests), or you can use an IDE such Android Studio, or you can use Visual Studio.
If you use Android Studio, you can create a new Flutter Project, and select the 'web' platform only, and de-select Android and IOS.
I am currently using Dart/Flutter to build web apps only. Android Studio builds the HTML/CSS/Javascript for you. Then you just have to publish it into a web server (online or local).
Yes you can use Flutter for web apps but though it is in early stage of development about how the web app will be stable or not
I just started-off with flutter web and I want to use brave browser to debug my flutter apps not chrome or edge.
When I use flutter devices command, it gives the following result.
No devices detected.
Run "flutter emulators" to list and start any available device emulators.
I'm using brave by using the link provided by web-server and it does not support hot reload.
So, how to configure browsers other than chrome or edge with flutter web for complete functionality.
I found this:
All you have to do, based on your Linux operating system (for Windows
and macOS the process is similar), is to modify your .bashrc file and
insert this line:
#Put your Brave installation location here
export CHROME_EXECUTABLE="/opt/brave.com/brave/brave-browser"
For MacOs,
export CHROME_EXECUTABLE="/Applications/Brave Browser.app/Contents/MacOS/Brave Browser"
You can use flutter run -d web-server to run your app like a server.
This means that you can just enter the URL on any browser of your choice to access your Flutter app !
Drawbacks:
Hot Restart/Reload from the terminal is not possible. You must refresh the page on your browser instead.
Advantages:
You can use any browser for developing flutter apps.
You can even use ngrok to forward your port to a HTTPS URL, and access your flutter app from anywhere (your phone, your desktop , someone else's device etc.)
PS: Credits to the Issue #77229 for helping me find this solution. I am aware that this workaround has already been suggested on this thread.
I just wanted to put out a simpler answer for the general viewer.
I've been diving in the same issue, it's known Brave it's Chromium-based, this will help u https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/77229
I tried creating a new flutter project in Visual Studio Code, but for whatever reason it now has a default device of Google Chrome every time I try to run it. I don't want to run Flutter in web environments whatsoever: is there any way I can disable this?
Run the following command to disable web completely.
flutter config --no-enable-web
Then restart your editor if necessary.
First, run your emulator from the AVD manager or connect your physical device while it's on debugging mode, if it's an android device, then choose the device you want to run from the flutter device selection option
I wanted to create flutter project targeted to only android and IOS. But my web support is enabled in flutter.
I don't want to go back to stable channel to do that. Anyone can help me out in doing this in beta channel itself
You can disable web support in flutter config. use flutter config --no-enable-web to disable and flutter config --enable-web to enable. There are several other options as well which you can explore by running flutter config.
Disable platforms in all projects
flutter config --no-enable-[platform-name], eg: flutter config --no-enable-web.
Disable platforms in a specific project
New project: flutter create --platform ios, android
Existing project: Edit the <project-root>/.metadata file, delete unwanted platforms under migration -> platforms. Only leave root and platforms you need. I can't find this documented anywhere so the method can stop working anytime, as of Feb. 2023 it worked for me.
I cannot install the Android Emulator in my working environment, therefore I wondered whether it is possible to code/learn Flutter without any mobile device (or emulator). For example, is it possible to run/test the code by using the browser?
There are two non-mobile options, both of which are currently in development stages but could be used for learning Flutter:
flutter-desktop-embedding, particularly the example which you can check out and flutter run with minimal setup, and then modify.
The Flutter for web technical preview.
