I have a Spring app that runs fine from the IDE with local mariadb using the mariadb 2.7.4 in the POM as below but I get the error second below running it on Ubuntu. I have removed the mysql connector and still the problem. Any help to why the discrepancy and soution?
<dependency>
<groupId>org.mariadb.jdbc</groupId>
<artifactId>mariadb-java-client</artifactId>

I needed to explicity include the driver in the war. In the IDE it was implicitlly included. Sorry for the trivial answer that should have been pre-discovered.

I'm trying to set up my Spring MVC app to send email, but i think i'm doing something wrong in the configuration
In My AppConfig i instantiate the Bean:
#Bean
public JavaMailSender mailSender() {
JavaMailSenderImpl mailSender = new JavaMailSenderImpl();
mailSender.setDefaultEncoding("UTF-8");
return mailSender;
}
Then in my application.properties I have:
mail.port= 465
mail.host= smtp.gmail.com
mail.username= username
mail.password= password
emailTo = info#beingsmart.it
emailSubject = ALERT - ePark Server
mail.smtp.auth = true
mail.smtp.starttls.enable = true
mail.properties.mail.smtp.socketFactory.class=javax.net.ssl.SSLSocketFactory
mail.properties.mail.smtp.socketFactory.fallback = false
When I try to send the email i'm getting

EDIT
I added javax mail to my pom
<dependency>
<groupId>javax.mail</groupId>
<artifactId>javax.mail-api</artifactId>
<version>1.5.6</version>
</dependency>
Now I have a different exception when trying to send the email
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/mail/util/MessageRemovedIOException
It looks like an authentication error, but i'm thinking that JavaMailSender does not takes the setting in my application.properties, could it be?
Thanks
It seems to be missing dependency rather than anything else. If using spring boot have dependency like:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-mail</artifactId>
</dependency>
If you don't I suggest you look inside that POM and figure out what are the missing pieces.
In your particular case it seems you need:
<dependency>
<groupId>com.sun.mail</groupId>
<artifactId>javax.mail</artifactId>
<version>1.5.5</version>
</dependency>
Generic advice:
ClassNotFoundException means class which you need is not on classpath. It's usually a missing dependency
Google to find which jar contains the missing class
Find the library it on maven central
Add to dependencies
Creating a web application using Spring Mvc 4.x and Hibernate 4.x. I have configured the below code in the servlet but, it is not taking the class file. Every time when I run the code it is giving ClassNotFoundException. As per the directory structure class is present in that location, but still it is showing ClassNotFoundException. I restarted eclipse, cleaned the project, redeployed the project and then tried again, but still no result. Please help. Below is the code that I have added. If I use the same code with same directory structure for a different project then everything is working fine. I have checked jars also, and all are in place.

Ok, so, I figured it out what the exact problem was. It was the build path. I had to delete the metadata of eclipse but still that was not solving the problem. Then finally I thought of adding the jars in the build path. The application was deployed this time and it worked.
After using the jhipster generator, I am able to successfully run the app on my local webserver with a local PostgresQL. I managed to deploy it to Heroku as well, but now when I try to run it locally in IntelliJ (as I have before deployment), (selecting 'dev profile', clicking on spring-boot:run) or running the Application main method,
I receive the following error (Heroku Database url is not configured):

Plz excuse my n00bness.. is this by design or am I missing some steps?
It is because of this error and it has been fixed in the latest version.
From the first line in your logs, the Heroku database URL is not configured
Caused by: org.springframework.context.ApplicationContextException: Heroku database URL is not configured, you must set --spring.datasource.heroku-url=$DATABASE_URL
Hopefully the following example will help:

I was following the tutorial for Accessing MongoDB Data with GORM but I am having a problem with the sample Groovy code. I copied the sample Groovy code into a file called app.groovy. When I run the code from the spring boot cli the code works fine. If I compile the code into a jar by running

Anyone have any idea how I fix this or what I am doing wrong?
Probably a bug: https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-boot/issues/686. Maybe a classloader thing, I'm not sure, but we'll look at it and update here when it's fixed. You should be able to use the Gradle or Maven build to create an executable JAR in the meantime.
Update: we might be able to fix this in Spring Boot and/or GORM, but in the meantime if you just declare a package in your app.groovy (e.g. package app) it should work.
Having a Scala project exported to a .jar with eclipse, the application started with java -jar app.jar dies with the error java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: scala.Predef$.

This seems to be caused because the Scala libraries are not contained in the jar. How do I fix this?
I have read about solutions with maven plugins but I would prefer a manual option.
Manually push the libs there in jar.. or you have good option to script it down
