I am looking for a way to plot a cumulative flow diagram that includes trend-lines on Azure Devops Dashboard. Are there any default / extension widgets that will allow this?
Thank you.
Out of the box, the trend-line feature you're looking for is not available. The Analytics Widgets provided with Azure DevOps can handle the majority of use cases but the Cumulative Flow Diagram doesn't understand the concept of end-date which is what is required to create an ideal trend.
There are other options:
Excel. There is an Office integration for Azure DevOps and if you can get the raw data you want from a basic Query, you can play with the data in Excel
Power BI. By far a better option than Excel because it leverages the analytics views and you can build some pretty amazing views.

Limitations of adding a trendline to stacked-chart visuals is described as:
The following visuals can use only a constant line from the Analytics pane:
Stacked area chart
Stacked bar chart
Stacked column chart
Waterfall chart
100% Stacked bar chart
100% Stacked column chart
The following visuals can use a trend line if there's time data:
Area chart
Clustered column chart
Line chart
Line and clustered column chart
Scatter chart
One power-user has suggested that you could create a line chart with the same synchronized axis and overlay it on top. I don't fully understand how you can have a trend-line for stacked data, so this approach would only work if the trendline is for the bottom unstacked column.

I have been trying to visualise a sequence chart(flow) in tableau using sankey chart. is there any workaround for sankey? if there is an workaround suggest a good visualisation.
You can use heatmaps with source/ target in rows and columns and the flow value be represented in the cell.
Alternatively, you can stick with tableau for sankeys. I have done that and it adds immense value to develop overall storyline.
I'm having trouble creating a chart that combines a line chart with a stacked area chart in Tableau Public. I can create the line chart in Tableau, but after that, I don't know how to proceed. Attached is the chart I created in Excel that I am trying to recreate in Tableau.
Line + Stacked Area Chart
Thanks.
Make your chart a duel axis chart - to do this you must have at least 2 measures on your shelf - click on the right most measure a select 'Duel axis'. Once you've done this, you'll see that each measure has it's own tab on the Marks shelf, which means you can set different mark types on each - for example one measure can be a bar chart and the second can be a line graph.
Hope that helps,
Ben
I am currently working on a dashboard to analyze the job market in Singapore. I made a stacked bar chart for job functions vs career level. My supervisor asked me to create a proportional stacked bar chart to see the clear difference in ratios of the career levels.
The dimensions I used was Job Function (jobs of specific industry such as accounting, admin etc) and Career level (jobs of career level such as entry middle and senior) and
The expressions I used was Count(Job Function). The issue is I can't make a proportional chart as the count of jobs varies for each career level for every job function.
Without seeing a sample of the data and exactly how you are displaying it I cannot give you an example.
From what I understand you want the min and max values in the chart (on y axis) to not change based on your selections?
You would have to create a variable and get the max value for said chart, and use set analysis to ignore selections. You would then use this variable in your Properties->Axes->Scale on the object/chart.
I built a gantt waterfall chart in tableau to represent sales difference over time. I want to add columns in the beginning and end, to show the total sales before and after the sales difference occurs.

You could do a dual axis to get this, with the ending total value on the second axis... *might need an LOD calc to exclude the slicing dimension for the bar on the one axis.
Or, you could create two sheets and align them side by side on a dashboard to do this.
Is there a way to sort a drill-down chart of a Dynamics CRM?
For example, I have two custom fields (X and Y) on a lead entity. I've already made a chart that use X and Y as the axis and already have them custom sorted.
However, there is a case when I want to drill-down chart X using Y field. If I do that I will get a drill-down Y chart that is not custom sorted.
Is there a way for me to sort the drill-down Y chart?
This is presumably not the answer you were hoping for: No, drill-down charts cannot really be customized.
I would suggest the following alternative solution:
Make a system chart showing the same values that is shown in the specific drill-down chart.
Apply custom sorting to this system chart, which you are aware is possible.
Have your users use this system chart instead of doing drill down. In this case they would first apply filtering to the view to show only the specific X values they are interested in. By then selecting your system chart, they will actually see the same data they would have by drilling down - only the data is sorted as intended.
