draw linear-gradient line chart in highchart.js based on another series - charts

I want to plot a chart just like this photo.
but I don't know how to create gradient color on the price line according to days until halving.
this is a sample of my row data:

I think that you can use the colorAxis feature/module to achieve the wanted result.
Demo: https://jsfiddle.net/BlackLabel/gsu8xhob/
API: https://api.highcharts.com/highcharts/colorAxis
EDIT:
Oh, my mistake, it seems that the minColor and maxColor values must be a HEX or rgb.

Change Shape Fill based on Shape Data in Visio

Wondering if someone can help me with what I thought was a simple Shapesheet issue.
I'd like the fill colour of a shape to change based on one of the shape data values. I thought I could do this easily:
FillForeground: If(Prop.Colour="Blue",XXX,YYY)
But this doesn't work? (Visio 2021)
I've 5 list values for the data and would like a different fill colour for each? Weirdly, I can see that the value does change based on the data selection, but the actual colour seen in on the page doesn't.
Obviously, I'm not much of a coder, just an enthusiastic meddler.
I've stuck at:
=IF(Sheet.3780!Prop.StringSection="Firsts",THEMEGUARD(MSOTINT(THEME("LineColor"),40)),THEMEGUARD(MSOTINT(THEME("AccentColor"),40)))
(The shapes to colour are within a group)
Thanks
Steve
Steve !

For compare strings in ShapeSheet you must use STRSAME function
Use syntax like this:
IF(STRSAME(Prop.color,"blue"),4,3)

Draw a line and color it based on direction

Is it possible to draw a line similar to the example below and color it based on the previous value?
So to have the color red when the line is moving down and green when it goes up.
Can this be done with line type? Or does it need to be drawn with markLine or something else?
Any help is much appreciated!

I don't think it is possible with the line chart, as the whole line uses the same color for all points. I suggest you use a scatter type chart where each point can have a different color. By setting symbol size to a small value and drawing values close together you can emulate visual line.
Here is an example based on the regression sample from echarts site:

Matlab border around figure

In attached image the output looks boring to me. Is it possible to have the subplots enclosed in a border?
Note: This question is not specific to publishing only but in general, say for exported images also.
Thanks
Postscript: I actually need this:
You can add a box like in here
making your code:
close all
figure()
padd=0.04
axes('Position',[padd padd 1-padd*2 1-padd*2],'xtick',[],'ytick',[],'box','on','handlevisibility','off')
subplot(1,2,1)
imagesc(magic(2))
subplot(1,2,2)
imagesc(magic(3))
This yields
And you can change the padd to be bigger or smaller
I obtained this just by plotting lines of different thickness 1.
The text was added with Inkscape though.
If I understand correctly what you want to do, you can obtain borders inside a figure using uipanels http://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/uipanel.html like this:
Code is:
u=uipanel('Title','MainPanel')
u1=uipanel('Parent',u,'BorderType','line','HighlightColor','k','Title','Subpanel 1','Position',[0,0,0.5,1])
u2=uipanel('Parent',u,'BorderType','line','HighlightColor','k','Title','Subpanel 2','Position',[0.5,0,0.5,1])
axes1=axes('Parent',u1)
imagesc(magic(2))
axes2=axes('Parent',u2)
imagesc(magic(3))
Of course you can change border widths, colors, titles and such

Tableau - Conditional Background Color

I am trying to construct a conditional background, based on a categorical variable, in Tableau. For example, the fed funds chart; you can see there's a line chart with two background colors. You can see that the grey extends the entire height of the chart:
http://www.alhambrapartners.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/FED-FUNDS-Rate-1954-to-Present-010612.png
In my data, there are 3 colors. I can get close to it by using a dual axis chart, but I can't seem to get it just right. I tried assigning a static variable, and then using the categorical as a color also, however, that doesn't really have the necessary effect.
Does anyone have any ideas?

This is the Tableau workbook:

Figured it out...displayed using a count of the categorical, and then a percentage of total.

Sigmaplot: How to scale x-axis for correctly displaying boxplots

I want to display overlapping boxplots using Sigmaplot 12. When I choose the scale for the x-axis as linear then the boxes do indeed overlap but are much too thin. See figure below. Of course they should be much wider.
When I choose the scale of the x-axis to be "category", then the boxes have the right width, but are arranged along each single x-value.
I want the position as in figure 1 and the width as in figure 2. I tried to resize the box in figure 1 but when I choose 100% in "bar width" than it still looks like Figure 1.
many thanks!
okay, I found the answer myself. In Sigmaplot, there is often the need to prepare "style"-columns, for example if you want to color your barcharts, you need a column that holds the specific color names.
For my boxplot example I needed a column that has the values for "width". These had to be quite large (2000) in order to have an effect. Why ? I have no idea. First I thought it would be because of the latitude values and that the program interprets the point as "1.000"s, but when I changed to values without decimals, it didnĀ“t get better.
Well, here is the result in color.
Have fun !
