I have the paypal hosted fields working on my sandbox business accounts. When trying to go live, it does not allow me to make an app that supports advanced debit card processing. In the sandbox they give you the option of making a platform app, but this option is not available to me in the live environment. It seems that only the platform apps have the "advanced debit card and credit card processing" feature in them.
Of course I am using a paypal business account to make these apps, so how do I get the ability to make a platform app for a live environment? I need to do hosted field credit card processing.
In the guide for integrating Advanced, the "Next Steps" section has a link to complete production onboarding with a live account. This is required.

I implemented paypal sandbox in my application and after hours of headaches with their documentation, I managed to implement a working app that uses their RestAPI. Now I want to go live with the application.
In their documentation the steps to go live with the app are as follows:
1. Ensure your application adheres to the PayPal Application Policies and Guidelines.
2. Update the Sandbox API credentials in your PayPal calls to those assigned to a live PayPal account.
3. Update your PayPal endpoints from the Sandbox to the PayPal production servers.
4. Register your application with PayPal.
5. If your application makes use of Adaptive operations, obtain a live AppID.
6. Go Live!
I don't understand how can I register my application with PayPal (point 4). In the documentation, it says that my app needs to be approved by PayPal and that's it. How do I do that ? How do I submit my app for reviewing ?
If I understand correctly, point 1, 2 and 3 affect only my code, registering the new credentials, right ?
Finally, I need an appID, but I guess that comes as soon as the app has been approved by PayPal to go live.
The full documentation I followed is here.
Thank you.
As Per Paypal Documentation : Registering your application with PayPal :
Submitting your application
To submit your website or mobile application to PayPal:
Log into the PayPal Developer website using the credentials of the
PayPal account registered to the application owner.
Note: The PayPal account associated with the application must be a
verified Premier or verified Business account. Click Dashboard at the
top of the page to open the My Apps & Credentials page. (Alternately,
you can go directly to the My Applications page by navigating to the
My Apps & Credentials page on the Developer website.)
Registering a REST API app
In the REST API apps section, click Create app. See creating an app
for more information. Registering an NVP/SOAP API app
Click Dashboard at the top of the page to open the My Apps &
Credentials page. Click the Create and manage NVP/SOAP API apps link
at the bottom of the page. Click New App on the left nav bar to access
the App Information form. Complete the form and click the Submit App
button. To ensure the fastest possible application review, supply as
much information as possible when completing the submittal form. Tip:
When filling out the application, be sure to provide the e-mail
address that corresponds to the PayPal account that is used make API
calls. The type of API operations used in your application dictates
the review process applied to your application. PayPal divides
applications into three distinct review categories:
Merchant APIs include Express Checkout, Website Payments Pro, Button
Manager, Mass Pay, Recurring Payments, and all of the Informational
APIs. Adaptive APIs include Adaptive Payments, Adaptive Accounts, the
Permissions Service, and the Invoicing Service. Calls to these APIs
require an AppID value. Mass Pay includes only the MassPay operation
As per 2020
PayPal developer guideline, you just have to mail them all the required things that they want to register your app.
Login to http://developer.paypal.com.
Click on the Dashboard menu item at the top.
Under the REST API Apps section, click the Create App button.
Proceed with the steps to create the app.
I am working on a software product that will support credit card processing via PayPal. The issue I am running into when setting up the PayPal Developer Account, is it appears to be structured to be set up only by the person processing payments. How should I set this account up? Do I set it up as if I were processing the payments directly and then just swap out the credentials for each user?
Thanks for the help.
So you're trying to make calls on behalf of 3rd party account holders? If that's right then yes, you could have them enter their own API credentials into your app settings and then swap them out accordingly, or you could use the Permissions API.
Accept PayPal and allow direct credit card processing Non U.S. developers, please note that direct credit card processing is not offered to you when using REST APIs. Your live credentials are inoperable for direct credit card processing but your test credentials are enabled for sandbox testing.
What I understand of this is that a Non U.S. account could no process Direct Credicard payments, but they don't say anything about others payment capabilities.
So I made my application, use the REST API in Sandbox and everything works great.
No I was setting the live application and I couldn't. After reading again the Documentation I found this:
Do I need a U.S. PayPal account to sign up? To accept payments using the new REST APIs and PayPal Mobile SDK, we currently require a U.S. PayPal Business account. But stay tuned for more country support. Note that most countries can use our Classic APIs.
When I was setting the paypal application I see this note:
Important: Live credentials are disabled for some capabilities. We
require additional information from you for these capabilities as
noted below.
And this:

Some is very confuse the message, Am I or Am I not able to use an UK business account to process payments (with for example paypal balance) with the REST API?
The REST API is currently only available to US merchants. UK merchants cannot yet use the feature - sorry.

I am a student doing a dissertation on GWT. I want to include google checkout in my application. Do i need to have bank account or similar issues to include, how can i proceed??
For demonstration and/or testing purposes you can use the Google Checkout "sandbox environment".
The sandbox simulates transactions using "test" credit card numbers and offers the exact same functionality as the production Google Checkout system, except no money is involved. No bank account is required as these are not transactions involving real charges.
