How to install Oracle SQL Developer on Linux (Pop!_OS) - oracle-sqldeveloper

I am trying to install SQL Developer on my laptop. I've download the file from Oracle and follow the instruction, I have RPM installed, but when I run rpm -Uhv sqldeveloper-21.4.3-063.0100.noarch.rpm, I encountered the following:
rpm: RPM should not be used directly install RPM packages, use Alien instead!
rpm: However assuming you know what you are doing...

What can I try next?

It looks like you are trying to run a package made for redhat based systems, but PopOS is debian based.
To proceed with the installation you must first install rpm2cpio, then you can extract it by running the command "# rpm2cpio datamodeler-21.4.2.059.0838-1.noarch.rpm", then you can access the extracted directory.
Then you can use the command "# ./sqldeveloper.sh" to run the application.
But, ensure you have a JDK installed You will be prompted to enter a jdk path. (ie usr/java/jdk1.8.0_181) SQL Developer will automatically launch once jdk location is provided

gtkplugin.h: no such file or directory [centos 8]?

I am trying to use make to install plugin for pidgin on centos 8 we have seen the above error.
Even after installing gtk,gtk2/3 devel packages we couldn't get the headfile.
The problem is with centos 8 distribution since there is no pidgin-devel package by default yum installation. So with the use of dnf command and enabling powertools we can install it by using the below command:
dnf --enablerepo=powertools install pidgin-devel

How install Nuget Microsoft.ML.OnnxRuntime.Gpu for ONNX Runtime in Ubuntu 18?

I'm trying to use ONNX runtime for Ubuntu: https://onnxruntime.ai/
I selected Linux, C++, x64, then CUDA. It says "Install Nuget package Microsoft.ML.OnnxRuntime.Gpu
Refer to docs for requirements."
When I click on "Microsoft.ML.OnnxRuntime.Gpu", I'm taken to https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.ML.OnnxRuntime.Gpu
There, it just says "Install-Package Microsoft.ML.OnnxRuntime.Gpu -Version 1.8.1". Now what am I supposed to do?
They expect you to install nuget in linux with
sudo apt-get install -y nuget
And then run the following with the version you want installed.
nuget install Microsoft.ML.OnnxRuntime.Gpu -Version 1.12.0
That's the expected approach. Personally, for me that didn't work. I kept getting some error saying "'Microsoft.ML.OnnxRuntime.Managed' already has a dependency defined for 'System.Memory'." So I did it a different way. I just went to https://github.com/microsoft/onnxruntime/releases/tag/v1.12.0. And then at the bottom under assets it lists pre-built .tgz packages for the different setups. You can just download one and unpack it.

The db2prereqcheck utility could not find the library file libnuma.so.1. on ubi7/ubi:latest docker image

i have a problem to install numactl-libs (or libnuma.so.1) on a ubi7/ubi:latest Docker image to run the db2 installation.
I have built a Docker image for db2 and wanted to test whether the DB2 installation runs successfully.
However, I get the following error message:
Requirement not matched for DB2 database "Server" . Version: "11.1.4.6".
Summary of prerequisites that are not met on the current system:
DBT3609E The db2prereqcheck utility could not find the library file libnuma.so.1.
The image has ubi7/ubi:latest as base image and the following libraries are also installed as follows:
RUN yum install -y libaio numactl-libs libpam.so.0 binutils gcc gcc-c++ ksh numactl && yum clean all
All libraries are successfully installed except numactl-libs (or libnuma.so.1?).
Note: a manual installation of numactl-libs worked without problems and thus the DB2 installation was successful:
ADD http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/os/x86_64/Packages/numactl-libs-2.0.12-5.el7.x86_64.rpm numactl.rpm
RUN rpm -i numactl.rpm
However, I would like the installation of numactl-libs to be done automatically with e.g. the command yum install -y numactl-libs or another equivalent command.
Unfortunately, an attempt with the command yum install -y libnuma.so.1 or yum install -y libnuma.so.* did not change anything and the same error message was displayed.
Can you please help me? I would be very grateful
Note: in my case a 64-bit version is used.

Unfortunately even trying to install libnuma-dev and libnuma1 has not changed anything and the error message is still the same .
The output of yum provides libnuma.so.1 is:

It seems that the problem is that numactl-libs cannot be installed:

Solution:
The problem was fixed and numactl-libs could finally be installed:
After I created a Red Hat user account and registered and subscribed to a system for the Red Hat Customer Portal with Red Hat Subscription Manager, numactl-libs installed without any problems.

I added the following line in my Dockerfile before the command yum install numactl-libs:
subscription-manager register --username=[USER_NAME] --password=[PASSWORD] --auto-attach
After these steps the DB2 installation ran without problems.

Not able to install python3 on Redhat 8 offline mode

I created an offline repo for RHEL 8:
downloaded all needed packages with dnf download
create repodata with createrepo command
I'm able to install most of the packages in offline mode but python3 can't be installed
The error I'm receiving is:
No available modular metadata for modular package 'python36-3.6.8-2.module+el8.1.0+3334+5cb623d7.x86_64', it cannot be installed on the system
Error: No available modular metadata for modular package
What can I do to fix this?

Perl DBD::Oracle Module installation

Could someone guide me how to install the Perl DBD::Oracle module?
Here is what I have done so far:
Platform: RHEL 5.8 64 bit
Installed Perl DBI package
Installed Oracle Instant client for Linux 64 bit (basi + sdk + sqlplus component for the instant client
Have set the correct $ORACLE_HOME and $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
Then when I do perl Makefile.pl it fails with the following error:

Install Perl DBI module ($ yum install perl-DBI)
Manually install below three RPMs for Oracle instant client (from Instant Client Downloads for Linux x86-64. The example is for v11.2.0.3.0-1: adapt the commands below to the actual version.)
oracle-instantclient11.2-basic-11.2.0.3.0-1
oracle-instantclient11.2-devel-11.2.0.3.0-1
oracle-instantclient11.2-sqlplus-11.2.0.3.0-1
I am using 64 bit Linux box, so select your RPM filenames accordingly. Something like sudo yum -y install oracle-instantclient*rpm should do)
set below variables:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client64/lib
export ORACLE_HOME=/usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client64
MacOS users will need:
DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client64/
Also add ORACLE_HOME to your PATH variable.
download DBD::Oracle from CPAN
untar the module and run below commands in given sequence:
perl Makefile.PL
make
sudo make install
In case you get complaints about missing gcc you can (temporarily) install it and then remove it.

Issues I had faced were due to the wrong LD_LIBRARY_PATH. I had set it to /usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client64 whereas the correct value is /usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client64/lib.
Certainly, this was a great learning for a newbie like me.

Here's what I did on CentOS 7.2 using yum packages and CPAN. This assumes you're using Oracle version 12.1 but I would imagine most versions will work this way.
Install Oracle Instant Client
yum install oracle-instantclient12.1-basic-12.1.0.2.0-1 oracle-instantclient12.1-devel-12.1.0.2.0-1 oracle-instantclient12.1-sqlplus-12.1.0.2.0-1
Copy demo make files
The install expects the *.mk file to be in /usr/share/oracle/12.1/client64 but the yum package install puts them in /usr/share/oracle/12.1/client64/demo.
sudo cp /usr/share/oracle/12.1/client64/demo/* /usr/share/oracle/12.1/client64
Modify .bashrc
Add the following lines to your ~/.bashrc
export ORACLE_HOME=/usr/lib/oracle/12.1/client64
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/oracle/12.1/client64/lib
export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME:$PATH
Now source the file
source ~/.bashrc
Update CPAN and DBI
Update CPAN and DBI to the latest
cpan> install CPAN
cpan> reload cpan
cpan> install DBI
Install DBD::Oracle
cpan> install DBD::Oracle
A little addition to slayedbylucifer answer. I had the same problem like mentioned in the question. I've done all the steps described by slayedbylucifer. But still I got the problem like mentioned here:
/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.3/../../../../x86_64-suse-linux/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /opt/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/client_1/lib//libclntsh.so when searching for -lclntsh
/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.3/../../../../x86_64-suse-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lclntsh
So I created the following symbolic link:
ln -s /opt/oracle/app/oracle/product/<YOUR_ORACLE_VERSION>/client_1/lib/libclntsh.so $ORACLE_HOME/libclntsh.so*
After that step the error from above (cannot find -lclntsh) was fixed. The execution of the make command was without any errors.
The only problem I still have is that I don't understand why this symbolic link is necessary.
