I want to display images of 10 people on my dashboard, when i hover the image dynamically it needs to display a wiki page to the side of each image related to that person, how do i achieve this in tableau?
Here are the steps after you have a dashboard with your people on one of the charts. My example uses the pesticide list from the most recent #makeovermonday.
In your dashboard, drag the web page object in.
Click the option dropdown of that new object and click Add URL Action.
In the popup place the main portion of your wikipedia url in the box and select your people field which will become the dynamic portion of the URL. Mine is pesticides.
Change Run action on to Hover
Now when you hover on your main chart it will update the web page object with the person hovered on. I just hovered on Atrazine in this image
You will probably have to update your people names to make sure they match wikipedia's url.
I have cart icon, which when clicked loads the cart of the user in a Modal. However, any link or HTML form items like input or buttons that are within this modal are unusable. It can never be brought to focus nor clicked. I tried playing with CSS property z-index with no success.
Check site here.
Add any product to cart and then click bag/cart icon on the top right to see the issue.
Changing the pointer-events value in CSS solved the issue. wrapping the content part in an element with class modal-content is also fixing the issue as suggested in comments.
We can able to create lot of fields and forms using remedy developer. i just wanted to know whether any options for giving tooltip to those fields so that users can better understand over the respective field.
For eg: If there is a field say price, say tooltip like decimal values accepted or something reasonable.
Try to edit fields' "Alternate Text" attribute for a small tool tip.
If you want a bigger one like in overview console table etc., run AL log and see which AL opens it.
Hover option is available for ARS 7.6 or later, and here are some info for you from BMC docs:
Using the message action to create tooltips
Tooltips are brief informational messages that are displayed in response to a user action with an object on the screen. Tooltips are commonly used to provide descriptions of menu items, toolbar buttons, or other objects.
In AR System, tooltips can be applied to tables, attachments, field labels, or field data.
A tooltip can be displayed either by hovering the mouse over an area in a form or by clicking an object such as a button. For table fields, a tooltip can be displayed by hovering over a row. The tooltip displays the values for the row being hovered over, even if that row is not the currently selected row.
When a tooltip appears by hovering, it is closed when the mouse is moved outside the tooltip's border. When a tooltip appears by clicking (for example, when a tooltip appears when you click a button), it is closed when you click anywhere outside the tooltip's border.
A tooltip also can be dismissed by pressing the Escape key.
Tooltips can include URL links, which can be added through a Set Fields action.
Implementing tooltips
Tooltips are implemented through two types of AR System features:
HOVER event
Active link Message action
The solution is probably not unique to Concrete5 CMS, but I need to build a page with a list of items. Each item would link to a detail page of that item showing a full text description.
Each item on the initial summary page would have the first few lines of the detail page description and a "more" link.
Does anyone know how I could go about doing this in C5?
This is a very common thing to do with Concrete5, and there is a built-in block to handle it -- it's called "Page List".
Note that out-of-the-box, this block doesn't show the first few lines of each page's content, but rather shows the "description" field as entered when creating the page (or editing the page's properties). But I have a free addon available in the marketplace called "Page List Teasers" -- http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/page-list-teasers -- which adds this functionality to the built-in Page List block.
You can also check out the blog views of the page list - they show how to display an area from another page with all the content blocks they contain, and how to display attributes. You could make a rich text attribute called description then display that as you loop through the list of pages.
I have a page that includes multiple news articles which can be shown or hidden by clicking on the news titles. You can also access specific articles directly by adding an id variable to the url, which auto opens the relevant article and scrolls the page to it. Each article has a Facebook like/send button at the bottom of it within a fixed sized div (400px by 30px). This works fine on Safari and Chrome but on IE or Firefox the Like/Send buttons for the url matching the page's og:url tag display correctly, but the other ones overlap and only show the top few pixels of the buttons. The ones that don't display are also in divs that are originally hidden so i'm wondering if this has something to do with it?
You can see what i mean at: http://bit.ly/qMPvM9 (on FF and IE none of them work, on Safari and Chrome all of them work).
If you visit http://bit.ly/n73V0s (which is the same page but it opens the specific news article and has the correct og tags in the header) then the open news article (the one with the matching og tags) works correctly on all browsers (but the others still don't work in FF and IE).
FYI i have put an orange background on the containing divs for the buttons to highlight the issue. If anyone could shed any light on why this might be happening i'd be very grateful.
