I am trying to make a specific form of gantt-chart in Charticulator for display in Power BI. The diagram consists of:
X-axis: Start datetime for the assignment
Y-axis: group member
Width of mark: Number of minutes assignment is estimated for
Color of mark: Type of assignment

Here's the problem:
As soon as I tick off the "Allow Scroll" for X-axis, all data marks disappears, and the settings for the axis changes to seemingly only have data for one day. The glyph also becomes blank with the text "to edit this glyph please add a plot segment to it", even though I just had a plot segment before selecting "Add scroll". This is only a problem for data with datetime, not if I change it to a string, which unfortunately would create other issues.

Just add both values to label. After you compute the percent of total on SUM(Teus) hold down control to make a copy and drag it to Label to explicitly have it displayed. Then drag a new SUM(Teus) from the data pane onto Label as well. Now you will be able to see both values. You can then click on the Label button and then the [...] button if you want to customize how these values are displayed. Side note: you are getting those skinny bars because you have Year as a continuous dimension. Using it as a discrete dimension will give you the thick bars.
I have created a chart with 2 axes that acts as a panel chart (see image)
As a panel chart I only want to show the portions of the relevant y-axes to the chart next to them. For example, for the right-most y-axis I used a custom number format to exclude anything less than 0:

But for the left most y-axis, I'm stuck. I want to show -400 to positive 400. I've tried 2 different options, but neither is producing the desired effect.

I learned something new today (and a bit weird) regarding formats and chart axes
After some experimenting, this is what I ended up using:
[White][>500]_(#,##0_);(#,##0);0;
The odd part: When you change the Display Units of the axis (for me, millions), then the formatting no longer recognizes the original amount (500,000,000).
Once I figured that out, I was able to work out the solution.
So, I have a kind of "customized bar chart" here. Forgive my lack of drawing skills, I just slapped this together in MS Paint.
The idea is that we have a patient who is on a certain medication. The chart has the following attributes:
Each black line represents a visit date (so, the horizontal axis is a date series).
The chart should have a unique indicator for start date, end date, and when the patient paused and resumed taking the medication.
Each visit date (black line) should have a dosage amount attached to it. This does not have to be a symbol, it can be a value (e.g., 2400mg, 4800, etc).
It's sort of a cross between a Gantt chart and a bar chart, but is neither of the two specifically. There are start and end dates, with a bar-like representation across a time period, but there could be potential gaps between pause and resume dates as well.
Is a chart like this even possible in BIRT, or does it require advanced customization?

What you should be able to do is build a table for each medication, where the columns are the doses, and dynamically change the width of the columns. Some quick research indicates adjusting the column width in a table can be challenging but here is question about doing it to a crosstab
The easiest way might be to leave the column widths floating, and add characters (same color as background so they don't display). The characters are added based on time between visits and will cause the column widths to change accordingly. You can use highlights to change the background code based on JavaScript.
You may want to have a look at d3. It enables highly customizable chart.

currently i have the following chart:
It currently contains one column (blue one) and a range column (white one). But what i really need is a chart which looks like the following:
So the white column should be overlapped by the blue column. I tried to change the range column to a normal column and changed the "CustomAttribute" PointWidth but was not able to get my chart looking like the needed chart.
Does somebody knows how to do that? Thanks

ANGEFALLEN = blue column
EINGEPLANTV1 = white column
Problem is that the white column is now right to the blue column.
If i change the order of the chart data the blue column ins right to the white column. But i need the white column to be behind the blue column like shown in the second picture of the main post / question.

The chart should look like this:
I need to move 1/3 of the white column behind the blue column so that 2/3 of the white column is still visible. The blue column has to be in the foreground and the white column in the background.
Overlapping Series:
Change the "overlapping" series to a "Range Column" chart type. This will allow you to layer the two series on top of each other.
Once you do this, you will notice that the series will get two value drop-downs:
Set the "Low" drop down to an expression with the value of 0.
Set the "High" drop down to the value you would like to represent.
Offset Series Position:
I am actually not sure if this is possible in SSRS. However, you can play with the widths of the layered series to achieve a similar effect.
Set the PointWidth propety of the series (under CustomAttributes) either larger or smaller than the default .08, depending on your desired effect.
Here is a quick mockup I put together. It isn't exactly what you were looking for, but maybe it'll get your creative brain juices flowing.
You should be able to drag the values around in the values box or there will be a blue up or down arrow to alter the order your data is displayed. See below for an example of what you will see when you select the charts data.
How would I disable the axis labels for certain (not all) ticks?
For example, my x-axis corresponds to the start time of an event. The x-axis label shows the date of the start time. However, there may be multiple events in one day, and instead of multiple labels displaying the same date, I'd like for only the first occurrence of the date to be shown, and remaining labels with the same date hidden.

Looked around and found this can be done with labelExclusionRanges.
From Core Plot documentation:
CPTAxis: [read, write, retain]
An array of CPTPlotRange objects. Any tick marks and labels falling inside any of the ranges in the array will not be drawn.
