Prompt to continue in the app after specific link was clicked - swift

I'm working on the app that has an email confirmation for new users. The task I need to complete is that if user clicks on the activation link from the mail application it should show a prompt to continue activation the the app if one is installed. It's a similar behavior to the universal links but I need the redirection only for that specific case. All the other links should be opened normally in the browser. Does anyone has an idea how can I achieve this?
P.S. attached picture represent an expected behavior.

What you are looking for is Universal Links. Some reading material:

Actions on Google: Alpha Tester

I read the guide on Actions on Google, concerning the publication of an alpha version
3 days ago, I have filled out the form
However, when I share the test link, this error appears:
At the moment it is not possible to find what you are looking for. Try later.
I'm pretty sure this is a Google bug
I did a further test:
I opened the link on an Android device
In this case I display a form to publish my review,
but anyway I can not test the application
Can you help me ?
You should not open this in the browser, instead choose the Google Assistant app on your mobile and open this page from mobile device. Then scroll down to the middle of the directory page/opt-in link you have been given and enable yourself as an Alpha Tester (you will see this button only if you have been whitelisted by the app owner/developer) and continue testing your app on mobile device.
You'll get this page for several hours after enabling alpha testing. After some time it switched to showing me the action directory listing for our app.
Once the page is active and you can see the directory listing you'll need to open the link on your mobile phone! This is mentioned in really small and un-emphasized copy under the link. Also, it's not immediately obvious as the opt in link will most likely be below the bottom edge of your phone screen. You'll have to scroll down to opt-in to alpha testing. Once you enable alpha-testing you should immediately have access to the action.
even i faced the issue , but you can alpha test by switching your account like in google assistant change your default account like the account you used for development.
this might help , thank you

How to send my app for review to Facebook?

I have written a desktop application and on the main interface there is a button to launch a Facebook status update form (it is a different program). In order for the status update to work, I need the publish_actions permission and for that I need to submit my app for review.
When I try to do that, it asks me to add a platform but when it comes to windows, it only accepts Windows 8 apps.
What can I do? Any help would be appreciated.
Hello I had the same problem and found the solution.
What you have to do is submit it as Website and state you are submitting a Desktop Application. I submitted as Website following a suggestion from the Facebook Team in a Bug Report.
However, at first they rejected my review submission with the standard message "Your Website does not support Facebook Login". I submitted again explaining I have a Desktop Application and I was choosing the Platform Website following their suggestion from that link, and then they read my step-to-step screenshot instructions, approved some of the items and gave me feedback on the others.
Good luck!

Can an application be rejected if on 1st launch user is asked to Activate app via Safari?

possibly a simple question, but I couldn't find definitive answer (see below for excerpt from HIG) myself that would state below scenario as 'unacceptable' and will result in app being rejected:
On 1st application launch after installation user will see an alert
asking to activate the app.
Tapping "Activate" will open Safari and display a web page with
"Activate" button.
Tapping it will launch my app via URL-scheme, pass some server
generated data and allow user to enter main UI.
The application will be locked until user activates.
If you need more context on why and how, please see this answer.
Mobile HIG (as of 2011-10-12):
"If possible, avoid requiring users to indicate their agreement to your EULA when they first start your application. Without an agreement displayed, users can enjoy your application without delay. However, even though this is the preferred user experience, it might not be feasible in all cases. If you must display a license agreement within your application, do so in a way that harmonizes with your user interface and causes the least inconvenience to users."
Well there's similar cases where an app is almost useless until the user registers to some service, take Instagram as an example.
I'd suggest however that you solve this by not forcing the user to leave your app. Instead, present the user with a web view within your app where you politely describe why it is necessary for the user to go through the activation process.
We've done something similar before (EULA presented modally within a web view on first launch, which could only be dismissed by accepting it) and it was approved right away.

How can I add a link to an iPhone native app from website IF POSSIBLE

I have a link to a Facebook page from a website. I know I can use the URL scheme href="fb://" to open up the Facebook application from within an iPhone, but if the iPhone user does not have the native application installed, an ugly error message pops up. I would rather just send this user to the Facebook website.
There's gotta be a way to do this, but everything I've tried has had some short-coming:
Can't make a HEAD request to a different server
Can't run a try catch javascript function since the event leaves the client page
Can't seem to access information about the user's applications... or can I? I've read a bit about a cookie called "appInstalled" but can't find any real documentation about it.
Any ideas out there? Thanks a ton in advance.
Denis
Can a website determine if a device [iPhone] has certain applications installed ? I'm pretty sure that's a big NO because of privacy and security concerns.
Not a really technical answer, but you could change the user interface to give the user an option. For example, having:
Click here if you have the facebook application installed on your iPhone.
If you do not, click here to go through to the site.
Sorry that I cannot offer a "proper" solution, I'm not really that familiar with iPhone development.

starting iChat session in iPhone from web app

This is really just a "what-if" type question, so forgive me if it is either ridiculous or ridiculously easy...
I have a client whose site offers a "chat with a consultant" option that you see on many sales and support sites. We were wondering if there was a way that iPhone users (or any user, in theory, but mostly iPhone) could click this option and after giving the basic form info (name, question, etc) the actual chat itself could open up in the chat client.
Is this as simple as the "click here to send me an AIM message" syntax?
The XMPP (jabber) server is Openfire and the webchat uses the Fastpath plugin. Would this feature need to be enabled deeper than the page's HTML/PHP? Does the server/plugin need to modified as well?
Would this threaten the security of the XMPP server (which is behind a firewall and can only be accessed externally via the above plugin)?
Does this even sound like something that iPhone users would appreciate, or would it simply be confusing/obtrusive?
Sorry for the objective last question, but I'd hate to spend time on this only irritate users.
Referrals to resources and documentation welcome. I'm not looking for someone to walk me through the whole thing, I just want to get an idea of it can be done and where to start reading.
I'm a little confused by what you want to do - the user fills out a form on a web site and then they are put into a "chat room" on their iPhone?
This is possible. However all of them require that the user has already installed your app, so it may be a hurdle to what you are trying to do.
However if it's using a pre-existing chat service (such as AIM), you may already be OK if the user already has a chat client installed on their iPhone. You could launch the app using custom urls or push notifications - however, this is assuming that the app developer has enabled such hooks, and if so if they are published.
If you want to go with your own client, if the user is filling out the form on the iPhone, then on submission you could redirect them to a custom url for your application. From mobile Safari, this will directly launch your app. Note that the user must already have the app installed for this to work, or else they'll see an error, and it won't be a particularly user-friendly one.
Another way, if the user is filling out the form on their computer, is via push notification. Again, they must first have the app installed. They would receive a notification that, on acceptance, launches your app.
The final way, if the user is filling out the form on their computer, is that they would have to download your app first and run it, so that it could communicate with a desktop client of yours via network services.
