enter image description here those are the settings for my arrival schedule. But when i try to start the simulation i always get this following error message:
enter image description here
i dont know how to fix the problem, can you help me to fix the error? Thanks
This is caused by how you setup your schedule. You chose the "Days/weeks" duration type and set it to 1 week. This requires that all entries must take exactly 1 week (i.e. from Monday 8am to Monday 8am).
For your case, switch to "Duration type: Week" as below and it will work. Check the help to understand the difference in more detail:

I would like to display the current time during my simulation so that I can simulate with full screen and also have the time. I tried the function getMinute(Date date) and a variable date. I didn't get an error but I also didn't get the time. Is it also possible to have a clock which displays the time?
You can do this:
String.format("%02d:%02d",getHourOfDay(), getMinute())
This will give you a string with the current time during the simulation
You can also use the clock object in the pictures palette to display time
you can use date() to know the date and time
I'm trying to create an agent statechart where a transition should happen every day at 4 pm (except weekends).
I have already tried:
1. a conditional transition (condition: getHourOfDay() == 16)
2: A timeout transition that will "reinsert" my agent into the chart every 1 s and check if time = 16.
My code is still not running, does anyone have any idea how to solve it?
This is my statechart view. Customer is a single resource that is supposed to "get" the products out of my stock everyday at 4pm. It is supposed to happen in the "Active" state.
I have set a timeout transition (from Active-Active) that runs every 1s.
Inside my "Active" state in the "entrance action" i wrote my code to check if it is 4 pm and run my action if so.
I thought since i set a timeout transition it would check my condition every 1s, but apparently it is not working.
Your agent does not enter the Active state via an internal transition.
Redraw the transition to actually go out of the Active state and then enter it again as below:
Don't use condition-based transitions, for performance reasons. In your case, it also never triggers because it is only evaluated when something happens in the model. Incidentally, that is not the case at 4pm.
re your timeout approach: Why would you "reinsert" your agent into its own statechart? Not sure I understand...
Why not set up a schedule or event with your recurrence requirement and make it send a message to the statechart: stateChart.fireEvent("trigger!");. In your statechart, add a message-based transition that waits for this message. This will work.
Be careful to understand the difference between the Statechart.fireEvent() and the Statechart.receiveMessage() functions, though.
PS: and agree with Felipe: please start using SOF the way it is meant, i.e. also mark replies as solved. It helps us but also future users to quickly find solutions :-) cheers
This question is best stated in an example:
It is currently 9:00am. User wants to do activity at 4:00pm the following day. They use UIDatePicker to select 4:00pm the next day, and then hit a button. I know firebase does times in milliseconds from 1970, so what I want to do is "add" the number of milliseconds from 9:00am to 4:00pm the following day to the ServerValue.timestamp(), like so:
activitiesRef.child(newActivity.id).setValue([
"id": newActivity.id,
"name": newActivity.name,
"isActive": newActivity.isActive,
"locString": newActivity.locationString,
"locLat": newActivity.locLat,
"locLong": newActivity.locLong,
"privacySetting": newActivity.privacySetting,
"targetTime": ServerValue.timestamp()]) // + some added value of time
//"targetTime": [".sv": "timestamp"]])
The reason for this is because I will be displaying a countdown timer elsewhere in the app until it reaches the targetTime. If I can push to firebase the targetTime, then the countdown timer will be a simple comparison of the current time on the user's phone to the targetTime itself.
The error I keep getting when trying to add a double value to the ServerValue.timestamp() is "Contextual type 'Any' cannot be used with dictionary literal"
If it is not possible to do so, what other options do I have? Thank you.
ServerValue.timestamp() is not a number that you can use to perform date arithmetic. It's a special placeholder value that the server side interprets with its sense of time.
The best you can do is write the timestamp, read it back out as a number, then perform math on it.
For example I want the Image named "Something" to be displayed from 9:00 till 11:00. Then, Image will be changed, and a new Image "Something else" will be displayed from 11:00 till 13:00 and so on.
I found some related solutions : here and here, but they have an old syntax and a bit different purpose.
Could You help me please.
Thank You in advance.
Found the solution, when You are using calendar date components and using the switch for hour and minutes.
I have a spreadsheet that logs incoming answered and missed calls in Google Drive.
It is currently set to send an email every hour between 10am and 7pm.
Ideally I would like it to not send the email during the weekend.
Setting up each hour Monday to Friday uses too many triggers.
Is there a way to construct a trigger that will send an email every hour (10am to 7pm) only Monday to Friday?
I've read the documentation at Google and a few (unrelated as it turns out) examples on here and I am stumped!
I tried putting a load of trigger conditions together:
function autoSendHourly() {
ScriptApp.newTrigger("hourlyUpdate()")
.timeBased()
.onWeekDay(ScriptApp.WeekDay.MONDAY)
.onWeekDay(ScriptApp.WeekDay.TUESDAY)
.onWeekDay(ScriptApp.WeekDay.WEDNESDAY)
.onWeekDay(ScriptApp.WeekDay.THURSDAY)
.onWeekDay(ScriptApp.WeekDay.FRIDAY)
.atHour(10)
.atHour(11)
.atHour(12)
.atHour(13)
.atHour(14)
.atHour(15)
.atHour(16)
.atHour(17)
.atHour(18)
.atHour(19)
.create();
}
I wasn't entirely surprised that it didn't work, but I was mildly surprised that it threw up no errors.
Any help (including "you're mad it can't be done") would be greatly appreciated.
The simplest thing to do is use the create trigger like you did but for every hour every day and then in you handler function add a small piece of code that will return if day and time don't meet specific conditions like explained in this (old) post.
the code may look like something like this :
function officeHours(){
var nowH=new Date().getHours();
var nowD=new Date().getDay();
Logger.log('day : '+nowD+' Hours : '+nowH)
if(nowH>17||nowH<8||nowD==6||nowD==0){return}
Browser.msgBox('time to work !');//normally your real function should begin here...
}
I haven't messed around with java in awhile but this article might help.
Android: how to get the current day of the week (Monday, etc...) in the user's language?
If it was me, I would get the day of the week and check it in a switch. Then if it matches a week day call a function to check the time between 10am and 7pm.
Best of luck.
