You need to install PHP on your system.

Eclipse cannot install glassfish tools. under Oracle folder of server there is only options for Webllogic and cloud, The glassfish option appears only ONE time whe I first tried to install it. an after it no longer shows up

Go to Help > Install New Software...
Add the GlassFish Tools Update Site

as repository (or add the URL under Work with: directly) and install the tools via the wizard.
It is a bug in the new eclips. Try eclipse neon instead of your current eclipse and it will work
this will work for Eclips lastest version up to this point:

2-Install Eclipse Sapphire: https://download.eclipse.org/sapphire/9.1.1/repository/

5-open your eclips : go to help > install new software
6-paste the link that you copied in "Work with" text field and then press ENTER
7-then click on next and follow installation.( your need to restart your eclips after finishing installation )

Eclipse GlassFish Tools is archived. The project become inactive and you can not use for new version of Eclipse IDE. You can you Payara Tools instead:

As per the JSystem documentation it's stated that the installer of JSystem has a little checkbox which install the eclipse plugin, but the screenshot on the manual it's for Windows XP(http://www.jsystemtest.org/sites/default/files/help/Chapter%203%20Getting%20Started%20with.htm#_Toc206753837) and right now I'm using ubuntu 12.04 with Eclipse Juno. I just installed JSystem here and can't find that little checkbox.
Also the documentation is sparse and short. Does anybody know how to install the JSystem plugin for Eclipse?

Actually, the Eclipse plugin is no longer part of the JSystem installation.
If you still want to use it, you can grab one of the older installation packages from SourceForge
(Version 5.7.02 would do the trick).
If are having problems with the Linux installation, you can install it on windows and copy manually the com.ignis.eclipse.plugin_5.7.02 jar from the jsystem/runner/Eclipse folder to the Eclipse plugins folder.
After restarting the Eclipse, you would be able to create a new JSystem project using the plugin.
One of the main reasons that the plugin is no longer provided and supported is that JSystem is now using Maven and most of the plugin functionality is now done via Maven archetypes.

I have installed cdt-master-6.0.2.zip (link) to my Eclipse by extracting it to the Eclipse installation dir. I'm using Eclipse 3.5 in Windows 7 x86 machine. But the plugin doesn't show up when I start Eclipse (I can't create a new cpp project). Yet cdt shows up in Help > About Eclipse SDK > About Eclipse SDK Features. What am I missing here?
To install plug-ins into Eclipse you should always prefer using the user interface through Help > Install new software menu.
Anyway if you really want to install plug-ins manually into your Eclipse installation, you have to place them into the dropins folder.
BUT this way you will have to resolve plug-in dependencies by yourself. If all dependencies are not satifsied, the concerned plug-ins will fail to start silently. This is why you should REALLY prefer to use the standard plug-in installation method to avoid any problem.
I have a major problem with installing plugins in eclipse. I'm using ubuntu 10.04 64 bit and I installed:
Eclipse SDK
Version: 3.6.0
Build id: I20100608-0911
(Not by using the apt-get, via apt-get I get galileo, but that version didn't work as well)
The Plugin I want to install is: http://sourceforge.net/projects/jbpm/files/jBPM%203/jbpm-jpdl-3.2.7/ I have to use this plugin because its compatible with alresco (dms)
I tried to install the plugin via dropin and the normal way:
Help->Install new Software-> Add -> Archive -> select the downloaded *.jar.
When I hit OK, I get the following error message:
"Could not find jar:file:/home/xyxyx/jbpm.jar"
I tried to solve it by extracting the jar but no success. Putting the jar into the plugins folder and changing permissions won't help! I also tried different versions of eclipse on several systems. No success!
I have been looking for a solution all day! I tried some advice I found on stackoverflow. I don't use a proxy. I changed the update system to classic! Now I don't know what to do anymore.

I installed Eclipse using Synaptic Package Manager (Ubuntu 9.10).
However, my Eclipse does not have any HTML template (in New dialog) or JSP template.
How can I fix it so that I will have some HTML and JSP templates overthere?
Fetch Eclipse plugin from http://download.eclipse.org/releases/galileo and select Web Developments stuffs solve the problem.
I do not recommend to install Eclipse from the ubuntu repository but to install it manually instead (and grab Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers). Just be sure to check this answer to fix the "click problem" due to a bug with Eclipse 3.5 and GTK+ 2.8.
Update: The reasons to prefer a manual install are explained in EclipseIDE. First, there is no guarantee to find the most recent of Eclipse in the repository (in Ubuntu 9.04, the packaged version of Eclipse was totally outdated). Second, even if you find an up-to-date version (like for Ubuntu 9.10), you'll need to run Eclipse as root to install plugins not available in Package Manager - why did they start to package plugin, this is just crazy - which is not a good idea. User mode installation solves this problem.
You can install eclipse-wtp-webtools package for static html files. I can't find one for jsp though.
