I'm trying to convert a file to a list of image file. Ideally with an option to extract a frame every X milliseconds.
Do you know if it possible to do so with flutter using ffmpeg?
Been trying with export_video_frame plugin but it is very slow and not stable.
Try the below snippet:
String command = "-i ${videoFilePath} -r $imagesCount -f image2 ${outputPath}image-%3d.png"
FFmpegKit.execute(command).then((session) async {
final returnCode = await session.getReturnCode();
if (ReturnCode.isSuccess(returnCode)) {
print("Success!!!!");
} else {
print("Failed!!!!");
}
}
);
Replace videoFilePath with the input file path and outputPath with the directory path where you want to save the images. Also, the imagesCount with how many images you want per frame.

I am trying to load subtitle to a video using the flutter video player package it works good for short files but it stopped as the file get bigger
I trayed subtitle_wrapper package but it has many bugs
Future<ClosedCaptionFile> getSubtitle(String url) async {
final data = NetworkAssetBundle(Uri(path: url));
final newdata = await data.load(url);
String fileContents = getStringFromBytes(newdata);
return captionFile = SubRipCaptionFile(fileContents);
}
this is getStringFromBytes function
getStringFromBytes(ByteData data) { final buffer = data.buffer;
var list = buffer.asUint8List(data.offsetInBytes, data.lengthInBytes);
return utf8.decode(list); }
it wasn't the size after all I tested on some srt files that have a blank space for some duration and the flutter converter do a check on every element if the length is<3 it break on get out of the loop
I am using image picker to pick image from device(App) and after that stored that file in provider class like that.
File? _img;
get img=> _img;
void putbannerimg(File img) {
_img = img;
notifyListeners();
}
I found out that image picker does not compress png images, I tried compressing it with flutter_image_compress
compressFile() async {
final formservice = Provider.of<PostForm>(context, listen: false);
File file = formservice.bannerfile;
final result = await FlutterImageCompress.compressWithFile(
file.absolute.path,
quality: 54,
);
formservice.putbannerimg(File.fromRawPath(result!));
}
I tried this way And other multiple ways but getting different different errors I want to upload this file in firebase storage like this
var task = storageicon.putFile(formservice.iconfile);
please tell me where I am going wrong, without compress file all things are working fine
Edit: I found out that path should be a string how can I parse local code file in that
If you are using the "flutter_image_compress" package
You may have to use the compress function for files stored on the phone like this:
Future<File> testCompressAndGetFile(File file, String targetPath) async {
var result = await FlutterImageCompress.compressAndGetFile(
file.absolute.path, targetPath,
quality: 88,
rotate: 180,
);
print(file.lengthSync());
print(result.lengthSync());
return result;
}
"compressAndGetFile()" returns a file while "compressWithFile()" returns a Uint8List.
If i understand your last question right, you want to use an image built into your application by default.
For this, you have to open your "pubsepc.yaml", go to the "flutter:" mark and add "assets:" like so:
flutter:
assets:
- path
"path", in my example, describes a top level folder containing assets like pictures.
You can freely describe its name.
I have this page where the camera is initialized and ready with a button that will record and stop the video, so I tried this :
FlatButton(
onPressed: () => {
!isRecording
? {
setState(() {
isRecording = true;
}),
cameraController.prepareForVideoRecording(),
cameraController.startVideoRecording('assets/Videos/test.mp4')
}
: cameraController.stopVideoRecording(),
},
............
but throws this error : nhandled Exception: CameraException(videoRecordingFailed, assets/Videos/test.mp4: open failed: ENOENT (No such file or directory)).
I don't understand, I don't want to open this file I want to save it there, Is there sth wrong with my code ?
In the new version, static method startRecordingVideo doesn't take any string parameter.
When you want to start the recording just see whether a video is already getting recorded, if not start
if (!_controller.value.isRecordingVideo) {
_controller.startVideoRecording();
}
and when you want to finish the recording you can call the static method stopVideoRecording() and it will give you a object of the class XFile, it will have the path to your video.
if (_controller.value.isRecordingVideo) {
XFile videoFile = await _controller.stopVideoRecording();
print(videoFile.path);//and there is more in this XFile object
}
This thing has worked for me. I am new to flutter please improve my answer if you know more.
You are trying to save a video in your assets folder which is not possible ,
What you need to do is to save to device locally either common folders like downloads or app directory.
Here is an example of how to go about it
dependencies:
path_provider:
Flutter plugin for getting commonly used locations on host platform
file systems, such as the temp and app data directories.
We will be saving the video to app directory.
We need to get the path to the directory where the file is or will be. Usually a file is put in the application's document directory, in the application's cache directory, or in the external storage directory. To get the path easily and reduce the chance of type, we can use PathProvider
Future<String> _startVideoRecording() async {
if (!controller.value.isInitialized) {
return null;
}
// Do nothing if a recording is on progress
if (controller.value.isRecordingVideo) {
return null;
}
//get storage path
final Directory appDirectory = await getApplicationDocumentsDirectory();
final String videoDirectory = '${appDirectory.path}/Videos';
await Directory(videoDirectory).create(recursive: true);
final String currentTime = DateTime.now().millisecondsSinceEpoch.toString();
final String filePath = '$videoDirectory/${currentTime}.mp4';
try {
await controller.startVideoRecording(filePath);
videoPath = filePath;
} on CameraException catch (e) {
_showCameraException(e);
return null;
}
//gives you path of where the video was stored
return filePath;
}
I am following the following flutter package to take a screenshot of my one app page:
https://pub.dev/packages/screenshot
I have successfully implemented the example and I can see my screenshots in the gallery.
My issue is that I would like to be able to NAME those images when they are stored in the gallery using some sort of numbering system. e.g. INV_0001, INV_0002.
Is there a way to do this in code? I have the following code that successfully takes the screenshot, but does not rename the file.
CODE
_imageGallerySaver() async {
final directory = (await getApplicationDocumentsDirectory()).path; //from path_provide package
String fileName = "Bob";
String pathName = '$directory/$fileName.png';
//print(path);
screenshotController
.capture(
path: pathName,
).then((File image) async {
print("image: $image");
setState(() {
_imageFile = image;
});
print(pathName);
final result =
await ImageGallerySaver.saveImage(image.readAsBytesSync());
print("File Saved to Gallery. result: $result");
//print("path: $path");
}).catchError((onError) {
print(onError);
});
}
SNIPPET
print("File Saved to Gallery. result: $result");
results in the following output:
File Saved to Gallery. result: file:///storage/emulated/0/app_name/1581602261670.png
I would like to rename the "1581602261670" part, if possible. Thank you
In your code, you are passing that file name to construct the path, then why not change the name there itself.
Anyway, you can rename an existing file using
await file.rename (newPath
):
Can't rename files using this method. Need to use a package called Gallery Saver:
https://pub.dev/packages/gallery_saver
This package allows you to set your own file name and save to the gallery.
How can I convert a PDF file into an image with Flutter?
I want to print the image to an ESC/POS printer using esc_pos_printer. This package won't accept PDFImage, it needs to be a Flutter Image.
I see plenty of PHP plugins that do this but nothing for Flutter.
edit: There is an answer to another question here which shows some code to decode an image from "pdf64" but I can't figure out exactly what "pdf64" is.
I created a PDF from html using flutter_html_to_pdflike this:
Directory appDocDir = await getApplicationDocumentsDirectory();
var targetPath = appDocDir.path;
var generatedPdfFile = await FlutterHtmlToPdf.convertFromHtmlContent(
htmlContent, targetPath, targetFileName);
generatedPdfFilePath = generatedPdfFile.path;
Now I need to know how to create a Flutter Image from that PDF or the bytecode to send raw to the printer.
You can use https://pub.dev/packages/printing:
await for (var page in Printing.raster(document)) {
final image = page.asImage();
...
}
This plugin can also convert your Html to Pdf with this:
final pdf = await Printing.convertHtml(
format: PdfPageFormat.a4,
html: '<html><body><p>Hello!</p></body></html>',
));
