I'm importing my plain HTML/CSS website to MODX. I made all of the Elements static, so I can edit them from VS Code + SFTP plugin. But I still have to use MODX Manager to create or delete new Elements.
Is there a convenient way to manage Resources and Elements not switching to the web browser with MODX Manager opened?
It could be a MODX Extra or VS Code plugin watching /asset/template and automatically creating a MODX Template when a new *.template.tpl file detected.
You can try something like this (untested).
Fill in the full path to the modx directory and templates directory and run the script.
<?php
try {
$modxBasePath = '/full/path/to/modx';
$templatesPath = '/full/path/to/templates';
$templatesExtension = 'tpl';
require_once "$modxBasePath/config.core.php";
require_once MODX_CORE_PATH.'model/modx/modx.class.php';
$modx = new modX();
$modx->initialize('mgr');
if (!is_dir($templatesPath)) {
throw new Exception("Path $templatesPath is not a directory");
}
$files = glob("$templatesPath/*.$templatesExtension");
foreach ($files as $file) {
$templateName = basename($file, ".$templatesExtension");
$template = $modx->getObject('modTemplate', ['templatename' => $templateName]);
if (empty($template)) {
$template = $modx->newObject('modTemplate', ['templatename' => $templateName]);
}
$template->set('content', file_get_contents($file));
if (!$template->save()) {
throw new Exception("Failed to save template $templateName.");
}
}
$cm = $modx->getCacheManager();
$cm->refresh();
} catch (Throwable $ex) {
die($ex->getMessage());
}
Probably Gitify extra is what you need

I am unable to access zend session in included file via layout.
what i have done so far -
//bootstrap
public function _initSession()
{
Zend_Session::start();
$test = new Zend_Session_Namespace('test');
}
//controller
public function init(){
$test = new Zend_Session_Namespace('test');
$test->abc = 'defghi';
}
//layout include file
<?php include_once( APPLICATION_PATH . '/data/ga_test.php');?>
//ga_test.php
$test = new Zend_Session_Namespace('test');
echo 'this is ' . $test->abc;
I am not able to access the variable in ga_test file. I am getting an empty variable. But if I include ga_test end of each view file then it works. Obviously I don't want to go to every view file and include ga_test.php. Can I do this via layout.
I am sure, I am doing something wrong here. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks
I have a magento grid collection inside admin edit form tab.I need a export csv functionality for the grid.Its working fine with full grid list without search filters.How to export csv for the filtered collection as well?
Go to your module or extension folder then /Block/Adminhtml/Blog/Grid.php. Open this Grid.php file and search the function protected function _prepareCollection() and add the following code under this function before return parent::_prepareColumns();.
$this->addExportType('*/*/exportCsv', Mage::helper('blog')->__('CSV'));
$this->addExportType('*/*/exportXml', Mage::helper('blog')->__('XML'));
After add this code it may be looks like that:
Next, in this extension or module folder go to /controllers/Adminhtml/ and open the controller file and add the following code under the class (add the code bottom of the page before last '}')
public function exportCsvAction()
{
$fileName = 'blog.csv';
$content = $this->getLayout()->createBlock('[your-module-name]/adminhtml_[your-module-name]_grid')
->getCsv();
$this->_sendUploadResponse($fileName, $content);
}
public function exportXmlAction()
{
$fileName = 'blog.xml';
$content = $this->getLayout()->createBlock('[your-module-name]/adminhtml_[your-module-name]_grid')
->getXml();
$this->_sendUploadResponse($fileName, $content);
}
protected function _sendUploadResponse($fileName, $content, $contentType='application/octet-stream')
{
$response = $this->getResponse();
$response->setHeader('HTTP/1.1 200 OK','');
$response->setHeader('Pragma', 'public', true);
$response->setHeader('Cache-Control', 'must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0', true);
$response->setHeader('Content-Disposition', 'attachment; filename='.$fileName);
$response->setHeader('Last-Modified', date('r'));
$response->setHeader('Accept-Ranges', 'bytes');
$response->setHeader('Content-Length', strlen($content));
$response->setHeader('Content-type', $contentType);
$response->setBody($content);
$response->sendResponse();
die;
}
Now replace the [your-module-name] text with your extension or module name and save then check.

I use Zend Framework 1.12 for some file upload system. And using Zend_File_Transfer_Adapter_Http in a form, for upload of two files.
There are two form elements for those two files.
$file1 = new Zend_Form_Element_File('file1');
// other options like setLabel etc.
$this->addElement($file1, 'file1');
$file2 = new Zend_Form_Element_File('file2');
// other options like setLabel etc.
$this->addElement($file2, 'file2');
and I handle the upload process in my controller like this:
if ($request->isPost()) {
if ($form->isValid($request->getPost())) {
$adapter = new Zend_File_Transfer_Adapter_Http();
$adapter->setDestination($dirname);
$files = $adapter->getFileInfo();
foreach ($files as $file => $fileInfo) {
if (!$adapter->receive($file)) {
$messages = $adapter->getMessages();
echo implode("\n", $messages);
} else {
$location = $adapter->getFileName($file, true);
$filename = $adapter->getFileName($file, false);
// taking location and file names to save in database..
}
}
}
With these, I can manage upload of two files. But I don't know how to take location of files which is uploaded with the specific Zend_Form_Element_File. For example, i need to know which file is uploaded to $file1 (element in form) and I will save its location to a table in database, and which file is uploaded to $file2 and save its location to another table.
I do not like to use Zend_File_Transfer_Adapter_Http.
I prefer to use code like this:
in application.ini:
data_tmp = APPLICATION_PATH "/../data/tmp"
in Bootstrap:
$options = $this->getOptions();
define('DATA_TMP', $options['data_tmp']);
in form:
$elementFoo = new Zend_Form_Element_File('foo');
$elementFoo->setLabel('Upload File 1:')->setDestination(DATA_TMP);
$elementBar = new Zend_Form_Element_File('bar');
$elementBar->setLabel('Upload File 2:')->setDestination(DATA_TMP);
in controller:
if ($request->isPost()) {
if ($form->isValid($request->getPost())) {
$values = $form->getValues();
$filenameFoo = $values['foo'];
$filenameBar = $values['bar'];
//at this point you know the name of the individual filename
$filePathFoo = DATA_TMP . DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR . $filenameFoo;
$filePathBar = DATA_TMP . DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR . $filenameBar;
//now you have even the physical path of the files
// taking location and file names to save in database..
}
}
my 2 cent.
I made a download form in my project, but problem is when i download the file and im trying to open it, Zend renderer is adding to it my layout html code... I read that i have to disable renderer and layout. But the problem is tjat i have to do this in my own helper, not in controller file, cause i need to have download in that helper file.
My download function is something like this:
<?php
class Zend_View_Helper_EditArticles extends Zend_View_Helper_Abstract
{
public function EditArticles()
{
//some code here, getting data from db table
//and now the download
if (isset($_POST['downloadarticle' . $i])) {
//this is probably bad and its not working as it should
//(?)Zend_Controller_Action_HelperBroker::getStaticHelper('viewRenderer')->setNoRender(true);
//(?)Zend_Controller_Action_HelperBroker::getStaticHelper('layout')->disableLayout();
$targetPath = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . '/articles/';
$file = $articles->GetArticleToDownload($_POST['art_id' . $i]);
$name = $file['name'];
$path = $file['path'];
$getfile = str_replace('//', '/', $targetPath) . $path . '.pdf';
$size = $file['size'];
header('Content-Description: File Transfer');
header('Content-Type: application/octet-stream');
header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=$name.pdf");
header("Content-length: $size");
header('Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary');
readfile($getfile);
break;
}
}
echo $this->view->partial('/index/index.phtml','EditArticles');
And when I download the PDF, Adobe Reader can't open it (when I download other files they can't be opened either). I opened them with notepad and before the PDF content there was a lot of HTML layout code... What am I doing wrong?
In Adobe Reader I get this message:
Adobe Reader could not open 'filename.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
That code does not belong in a view helper. It belongs in the controller or maybe an action helper.
Something like this in your controller should work:
$this->_helper->layout()->disableLayout();
$this->_helper->viewRenderer->setNoRender(true);
// ...
$this->getResponse()
->setHeader('Content-Description', 'File Transfer', true)
->setHeader('Content-Type', 'application/pdf', true) // change to application/pdf
->setHeader('Content-Disposition', "attachment; filename={$name}.pdf", true)
->setHeader('Content-length', $size, true)
->setHeader('Content-Transfer-Encoding', 'binary', true)
->appendBody(readfile($getfile));
The following 2 lines of code should accomplish what you need and do it in a fashion that works from anywhere in your Zend application.
Zend_Layout::getMvcInstance()->disableLayout();
Zend_Controller_Front::getInstance()->setParam('noViewRenderer', true);
I am working on a purchase system in my assignment and trying to solve the problem by using a session to store data in the process.
Although I'm experiencing a problem in Mozilla Firefox, which cannot for some reason work with the session I have created. There's most likely no doubt that I must have made some kind of mistake.
The process is as follows:
User fills form -> Clicks submit -> [Validation process] -> User reviews confirm page
Here is the relevant code from the controller:
public function indexAction() {
$this->gatewayForm = new Payment_Form_Gateway;
$save = $this->validate();
$this->view->gatewayForm = $save['form'];
$this->view->alert = $save['alert'];
}
public function validate() {
# get form
$form = $this->gatewayForm;
if ($this->_request->isPost()) {
# get params
$data = $this->_request->getPost();
# check validate form
if ($form->isValid($data)) {
$session = new Zend_Session_Namespace('formData'); // name space creation
$session->data = $data;
$this->_helper->redirector('confirm', 'gateway', 'payment');
} else {
$alert = array('Pay failed');
}
$form->populate($data);
}
return array('form' => $form, 'alert' => empty($alert) ? null : $alert );
}
public function confirmAction() {
$this->_helper->viewRenderer->setNoRender(true); // disable std. view
$session = new Zend_Session_Namespace('formData');
$data = $session->data;
if(isset($data)) {
$this->_helper->viewRenderer->setNoRender(false);
} else {
$this->_helper->redirector('index', 'gateway', 'payment');
}
}
Things go wrong in the confirmAction in Firefox, the session namespace seems to be empty? Although this does not occur in Safari, Chrome, IE etc.
Thanks in advance.
I reinstalled Firefox and removed config and cache files which did the magic. Problems solved!
