I’m trying to delete some items off my personal iPhone with xcode. Do I simply write the code and use my phone as the simulator?
Or is this not possible?

I want to publish an iPhone app to App Store. So, I tried to perform Archive for Publish an iPhone App by selecting at the top main menu bar:
Build > Archive for Publishing
I have already select a device from the drop down menu at the main top menu bar. But I still receive above error message. What should I do?
I don't have a physical real iPhone. All I use is the iPhone Simulator. Is it a must to use a real iPhone to sign the App and submit to App Store?

A physical iOS (iPhone) device is no more needed to archive and submit app to AppStore.
You need to plug in a real physical iPhone into the Mac Laptop.

For build device, select "Any iOS Device (arm64, armv7)" or Generic Device
The last option in the list of build devices is a Generic Device, under the heading Build Only Devices. This option works fine for those without a physical iPhone.
Dont know if this is still an issue, but I ran into that issue today: the problemn was that in the fourth column it didnt say "remote device". Click on in so it reads: Release, iPhone, APPNAM.ios, Remote device.

I have recently coded an IOS app on my windows PC using unity, I have exported it and set it to the right format, and I was just wondering wether there was a way to directly export it onto my IPhone without using the app store.
Assuming you have an .ipa file, with the correct provisioning profile for your device, you can open it with iTunes and then sync with your phone.

You do not need a device, and can archive when it's set to iOS Device. The best bet is to test on as many devices as you can, and archive when it's plugged in. Although when it says iOS Device, you can archive. The reason it's grayed out is probably an error in your provisioning profile or certificate. You may want to look under Organizer under profiles or under your build settings.
You need a development certificate for testing locally and distribution certificate for submission to the app store. You need to create a request in keychain then submit it using iTunes Connect, and then download the proper provisioning profiles and certs, and install it in XCode Organizer.
Best bet is to purchase a cheap device like an iPod Touch or iPhone, that can test most of your capabilities (iPod doesn't have most capabilities). You can compile for iPad with iPod or iPhone. So you just need an iOS device that can support your version 4.3+ or 5,6,7.

To create an archive
For iOS, tvOS, and watchOS apps, choose a generic device or your device name from the Scheme toolbar menu in the project editor.
You can’t create an archive of a simulator build. If a device is connected to your Mac, the device name appears in the Scheme toolbar menu. When you disconnect the device, the menu item changes to the generic device.
Choose Product > Archive.
The Archives organizer appears and displays the new archive.
So you don't need an iOS Device to create an archive and distribute it on the App Store or for beta/ad-hoc testing.

The error you have is most likely because of incorrect name of your application.
No you can not. Also if you are wanting to do a clean distribution you will need to get a distribution license so you can do the distribution directly from xcode. Here is a good tutorial.

You will need to have a device in order to submit:

You do not have to run the app on the device, but you must connect
it in order to archive it. That is why the menu is not

PS: Also , you do not want to submit an app wihtout testing it on a real

I made a simple application on XCode 4.2 and Sqllite.
It runs on Simulator smoothly. I made its build and run on Iphone 4S with iOS 5.
it Runs and crash without any error.
Guide me to detect the problem.
Try debugging on the device in your app delegate or if need be in your main.m file.
Also check the Console app on your Mac.
It contains device logs you might use to learn more.
make sure about ur version. and did you have the provisioning profile and certificate installed to push the kit in the device?
if you dont have any provisioning profile associated with the iphone it wont let you push or run the kit on your device..

If so, you may have changed the datamodel, which would cause the app to stop working.
You'll have to delete the app from the phone, then re run it.
Connect your device to Mac, Open Xcode, Open Organizer inside xcode. Than see Devices Section, you may get your device name.. Than see Device Logs. Now you run your app in device only not from xcode to device.. you will get same Console output see in Organizer Device Log
I am having a iphone and i have created an application using Xcode. Now i want to move this application into my iphone for my use. How can it be done?
I tried to copy my application to the iphone Applications folder using the phone view software, but i'm not able to open my application in the iphone. It shows the error
"Your Myapp.app cannot be open"
Is there any other way to install my application into the iphone? Please guide me regarding this.

You'll need to register as an iPhone developer to get the correct keys for signing and loading an application onto an iPhone. If you are writing an application that you plan to sell via the AppStore then this is $99 to register, if it's for internal use only then $199.
First did you use the real SDK or the simulator?
The simulator SDK only hides some OS X calls that don't exist on iPhone, but is otherwise the normal OS X SDK. So first make sure you link against the (ARM) iPhone SDK.
Then comes the licensing bit. Afaik in a non jailbroken iPhone you can only load signed apps (via the AppStore, or using a license obtained from Apple to sign your own)
Xcode will automatically install and run an application on your iphone if you use the correct project setting.
Project -> Set Active SDK -> iPhone Device 3.0
Note that you will need a provisioning key before this becomes possible.
