Change iPhone Grouped TableView's Width - iphone

I wonder if it's possible to adjust the width of a grouped tableview.
I want to have a wider table.
Is this possible? and how?

Sorry to be blunt Mike but you're wrong. The table's width is not already set to the maximum. creator7 hit the nail on the head, you can resize tables, including grouped tables, in Interface Builder. If you need it larger than the screen (can't imagine why you would want this...), you might need to do further sizing programmatically. If the table has been added in IB, then best to do this programmatic resizing in the viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated method.

The width on tables is already set to the maximum.

you have to increase the width of the table using interface builder manually for scroll upto its width add the tableview as subview of a scrollview.

What is purpose of giving estimatedRowHeight a specify value?

I know that to enable self-sizing we need to set to estimatedRowHeight a specific value but I can't get the purpose of doing it. For example, what if I set the property to 600 but my actual cell size is only 40 ?
In my projects, I always set a random value to it and it works well.
Please explain to me, I'm very curious. Thank a lot.
It is used to estimate the height of the content view (not the table view's size itself). Table view needs to know the height of its content to allow scrolling smoothly without actually loading all the cells. If your estimatedRowHeight is quite different from the real cell's height, then when you try to scroll you may see the scroll indicator flickers. Or when you try to reload table view, the high possibility that you may see the cells appears in a weird way and with unexpected animations.
It helps auto layout prepare an initial value for the display until the actual height is being calculated by the constraints you set to the elements inside the cell from top to bottom

Uitableview horizontal as well as vertical scrolling.

I want horizontal as well as vertical scrolling whole table not particular cells.
Is it possible.?
Or should I implement simple view and reload again table.
Any Help?
There may be a way to do this however the Apple documentation states...
A table view has only one column and allows vertical scrolling only.
you can use collection-view for the purpose

how to create a sectioned TableView for profile in iPhone

I saw this picture on Internet:
the section with the add Photo Frame and two rows (First, Last)...
How do you achieve a design like that!!!
I only know how to make rows (static and dynamic) in xCode using the full width of the screen but not in a single section but not making such a división and adding a frame out of the other two rows
my designs are like this
Any help I'll appreciate
thanks in advance
It's not really clear that the example you've given is actually embedding the first, last part into a table view. It could just as easily be a single cell that has embedded views with borders to look like rows. Here are a few ways I see to accomplish the view you've given.
Have them be actual rows - but use a custom cell layout that offsets the 'First' and 'Last' labels to be further to the right. Then create a UIImageView for the profile that sits on top of the UITableView cells, but inside of it. Basically insert it as the first subview of the UITableView. It should cover the top left of those top two cells. You can do this since those cells have a static known hight and you've set the left offset. Another option would be just inserting it into your top cell, but having it overflow the bounds and setting clipsToBounds = NO.
Make the entire top view a custom UIView that uses CALayers or CoreGraphics to manually draw the lines and layout such that it looks like part of the table view. Set that as the TableView header, or the first section Header.
There are a lot more things you can do like changing frame layout as well.
you can achieve this with the use of xib read carefully and if you don't understand anything you can ask me again it's bit tricky
in you xib create a UIView and design for your photo and firstname, lastname cells with the use of textfields image views and all and then take a UITableView.
now drag your UIView and drop it on your UITableView so that it will be considered as your table header and your first section now will be as you designed like photo with firstname and lastname fields.
i've done this in manier projects of mine so hope this way you can also do this thing and ask me if you need any help.

how to set the content size of a scrollView Dynamically

I have a scrollView and on that scrollView, i have many labels and textView along with one tableView. scrollView is working perfectly fine when the no. of rows are less in tablView but if tableView have more number of rows then i am not able to full content and even i am loosing lots of information in tableView because the tableView isn't scrollable. i have added all the lables, textView and tableView as a subview of scrollview. Can anyone help me in that so i can get full tableView and make it proper scrollable.
Here is my code to set the content size of scrollView.
float maxHeight = 0;
for(UIView *v in [self.scrollView subviews]){
if(v.frame.origin.x + v.frame.size.height > maxHeight)
maxHeight = v.frame.origin.x + v.frame.size.height;
}
self.scrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(_scrollView.frame.size.width, maxHeight+100);
First you'll need to resize your table, so that it fits all the rows (since as you said, it's not scrollable). I believe that doing so will make all your rows to not be reusable, so if it's a big table you may get performance issues. Also be aware of #David H's answer, so if you really want to do this, you might be better of using another UIScrollView instead of the UITableView (it won't bring much benefit either way).
Second, you'll need to move all the views beneath the tableview, so that they won't overlap. An easy way to do this is to have those views put together in a different view, so that you only need to move one view instead (in this case however, you'll also need to resize that view accordingly).
Finally, instead of looping through all the scrollview's subviews, it should be easy enough to keep track of the view that is closest to the bottom (this depends on how you generate and add the views to the scroll view).
A tableview is a scroll view subclass, and generally Apple says adding it to another scroll view will cause problems. That said there are ways to make it work. Search here or on google for terms like "how to put a uitableview in a uiscrollview".
EDIT: to make it not scrollable you could put a transparent view over the table view that stops or eats touch events.
self.scrollingView.contentSize=CGSizeMake(320,372);
Try this.

Automatically reposition views after UITextview resizes - iOS

For a simple example lets say I have a UITextView with a Button underneath it. These two controls are siblings both embedded in a parent UIView.
I now change the text within the UITextView and resize it accordingly. Is there a way to make the button automatically move to have the same relative distance to the bottom of the UITextView? This may seem trivial for this case, but I will have a longer hierarchy with multiple UITextViews that change and it would be nice not to have to calculate the height of every object manually.
One way to approach this would be with a table view: if you place each of your text views within its own table view cell, the table view will automatically calculate its total height from individual calls to its delegate’s -tableView:heightForRowAtIndexPath: method and lay itself out accordingly. Whenever the height of one of your text views needs to change, you can call -reloadData on the table view to make it lay itself out again. A disadvantage of this approach is that it’s really difficult to animate the height changes; if that’s essential to the effect you’re going for, I’m afraid you’re stuck with doing the entire layout manually.
Try the autoresizingMask property of UIView.
