So in my view I have a UITextView and this toolbar created programmatically.
I want to change the label text each time I add a character to the UITextView.
Each time the UITextView text changes, I can display an alert each key pressed.
I can't figure out how to change the label text.

One way would be, assuming inserimentoToolbar is declared in your interface:
[(UILabel *)[[toolbar.items objectAtIndex:1] view] setText:#"sometext"];
This really only works assuming your toolbar doesn't change (in terms of objects).
OR
The more ideal solution would be to put lblTotCaratteri in your interface (in your header file). Like:

Then your included code would just like

Yo , This worked for me, I change the UIBarButtonItem title when I click on same UIBarButtonItem. Mean my need was kind of flipflop. If click first time it says "MyText1" then click again, title changes to "MyText2". Text toggles when user clicks on button.

NOTE: I have not created UIBarButtonItem programmatically. I created in Interface Builder and set reference of method "myBarButtonItem" to this button. So when UIBarButtonItem or say this type of button is pressed it calls method "myBarButtonItem" and sends reference of button as parameter which I further type cast to (UIBarButtonItem *) and use setTitle property to change it's text or say title.

And I want to adjust the position of this button into the NavigationBar, because my NavigationBar is taller than normal (is customized using Appeareance).
I'm using the method setBackgroundVerticalPositionAdjustment, as you can see in the code, to do that. But is not working at all with my UIBarButtonItem, no matter what offset I put there, the button always appear close to the bottom of the bar (snapshot).
BUT, if I use a normal UIBarButtonItem with a normal style (the one I called button) I DO can see how the position of the button will be altered the offset of -20. Very strange... Any ideas?

You need to put the button inside a blank view and position it within that blank view. Now make that view the custom view of the bar button item.
You really don't need a button here, since this is just an image and you are not using any of the button capabilities (you can attach a gesture recognizer to spot the tap). So here's a simple solution using an image view:

I have a UITableView with an Add cell... row and would like to have a keyboard pop up with a view above it like in the "Messages" application, where the user can type the name of the new cell.
I realize that there are several other ways to get user data, and several ways to implement the functionality that I am trying to achieve.
For example, the iPod application presents a popup when a new playlist should be created.
Right now, I have a hidden text field that is set to be the first responder when the Add cell... row is pressed, and I assign the view containing the input field and confirmation button as the inputAccessoryView for this hidden field. Alternatively, I could add this view as a subview of the table and position it using keyboard notifications.
I would just like to know if there is a cleaner way to accomplish what I am trying to do (such as setting the inputAccessoryView of the input textField to be displayed to be the textField's superview). I have tried several approaches, but I cannot seem to be able to dismiss the keyboard using resignFirstResponder when the view should close. I can get the inputAccessoryView to disappear, but the keyboard remains resolutely open, taking up necessary screen real estate. Also, when the nib's view is a UITableView with a UITableViewController as the File's Owner rather than a UIView with a UIViewController as the File's Owner, I get a very odd error: "setting the first responder view of the table but we don't know its type (cell/header/footer)"

You are on the right track with the setInputAccessoryView on the UITextView/UITextField classes' This method allows you to add any view you want to the top of a keyboard.
The view you create would then use a delegation method to tell the main view controller to resignFirstResponder.
So, to get you started:

It seems like self.navigationItem is only looked at by the UINavigationController (controller, not bar). The bar itself isn’t going to check that.
So you should either
1) Use a real UINavigationController which comes with its own navigationBar and will handle the navigationItems for you. The self.navigationItem code above will work in that case. (you should consider self.navigationItem.title = #"Status";)
If your UITableViewController is going to be pushing stuff on and off the navigation stack, this is the path you should take in any case.
2) Use the UINavigationBar’s own navigation item. Except it doesn’t seem to come with a navigation item, so you have to add your own:

Dealing with UINavigationController/UINavigationBar/UINavigationItem can be confusing, but luckily Apple has a decent explanation of how all these things work together at the top of its UINavigationController documentation.

UINavigationController has a toolbar already. If you were to enable that, you can just provide the buttons that should be on the toolbar from the viewControllers. Apple's Mail application uses this concept. A benefit of this that you do not see the toolbar leaving the screen during navigation stack animations which makes it seems like it is sitting on top of everything and button's on the toolbar changes according to the UIViewController that is currently on the screen.
I'm adding a couple of buttons to an already-existing NavigationController. The two buttons are added to a UIView, which is pushed onto the NavigationItem. The buttons stop and reload a UIWebView.
Problem is that there's a slight offset issue that is making it all look pretty ugly. I wish I could set the UIToolbar to transparent or clear background but that doesn't seem to be an option. Can't seem to use negative offsets either. I've got color matching, but if you look closely there's 1px or 2px of highlighting up top that's causing a visual mismatch and then a slight offset at the bottom.
Some relevant code below (based on this, inbound Googlers). What are my options to resolve this?

I've had this same exact issue before, and after some hacking around, I figured this out:
You need to set the height of the UIToolbar's frame to 44.01 for this to work.
EDIT: Re: highlighting mismatch -> You can try setting the backgroundColor to the colorForBar.

Instead of putting the buttons into a toolbar, you might just make them children views of a parent UIView. You can position a button directly through its frame or center property, without use of spacers, etc.
