facebook connect api "Cannot use string offset as an array in" error - facebook

Please help! I have been grappling with this error for days and I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I am using facebook connect and fetching a "contact_email" attribute using their api method users_getInfo.
The issue is that when I execute this PHP file, i get this error: "Cannot use string offset as an array in...". This error specifically refers to this line of code: $firstName=$user_details[0]['contact_email'];
I'm thinking this is because the user_getInfo method is not returning any results... However, the most ridiculous part about all this is that, I can execute the code below several dozens of times in a row SUCCESSFULLY without the above error, BUT THEN randomly without changing ANY code at all, I will suddenly encounter this error, in which case it will begin to give me an error several dozens of times, and then AGAIN without any code change, start executing successfully again.
This odd behavior occurs regardless of the attribute i am fetching.. (contact_email, first_name, last_name, etc.). I am running php 5.2.11. Is there something I'm missing??

Using the facebook php client API I was also receiving that error but my error was related to checking if the users are friends using the friends_areFriends php method.

I would get this error when I assigned the $result, "Cannot use string offset as an array" and aparently the friends_areFriends method above was failing alot. My solution was to create a for loop that ran that code and then check $answer to see if it was an array using php method is_array() and executing the method call again if it wasn't. My loop was for 10 tries before just letting it fail. In the end, this check was severely degrating the performance of my facebook application. Instead, I removed the friends_areFriends api call alltogather and my facebook app performance was nice and fast again.
You could probably implement a similar feature allowing the method to retry itself if the result is not an array. The problem I think is on facebook's side, sometimes they are flooded and the requests do not complete successfully. I caution you not to retry more than 5 tries though because if you do a forever loop, rest assured they will ban you from the using the Facebook API for flooding it, so be careful.

Line is breaking i.e customerStateName into customer,StateName because of this i'm getting Bad Request in Response,Please help.

Linkedin API oAuth 2.0 REST Query parameters

I'm running into a problem with adding a query to the callback URL. I'm getting an invalid URI scheme error attempting to authorize the following string:

I've read some conflicting information in forum posts here. Some say that it's possible to add query strings to callbacks, and others say that it results in error.
If I remove ?type=linkedin, I can authorize just fine and receive the token. It would make my life so much easier if I could use a query string on the callback url, as I need to do some additional processing in the callback.
In short, can I append a query string to the end of the callback url?
For fun, I tried encoding the callback url in the request (obviously this is a no-no according to their documentation):

And in the first request, it appears that I'm doing it correctly. Post #25 on this page - https://developer.linkedin.com/forum/error-while-getting-access-token indicates that you have to remove the query parameters to make it work
Anyone have experience with successfully passing additional query paramaters in the callback url for the linkedin API using oAuth2.0? If so, what am I doing wrong?
I couldn't wait around for the Linkedin rep's to respond. After much experimentation, I can only surmise that the use of additional query parameters in the callback is not allowed (thanks for making my application more complicated). As it's been suggested in post #25 from the question, I've tucked away the things I need in the "state=" parameter of the request so that it's returned to my callback.
In my situation, I'm processing multiple API's from my callback and requests from multiple users, so I need to know the type and user number. As a solution, I'm attaching a random string to a prefix, so that I can extract the query parameter in my callback and process it. Each state= will therefore be unique as well as giving me a unique key to cache/get object from cache..

Facebook Graph API event-id/comments?since=2014-02-01&until=2014-02-10 , Date filter has no effect

Could you please guide me about date filter on that particular query (point4) or if you have any other idea to use date filter on comments made for an event.
Comments use Cursor-based Pagination, so you cannot use since or until on the comments endpoint (these parameters would work f.ex. for the feed endpoint).
To get the comments in a time range you have to fetch all comments from NOW to the start of the time range, f.ex. with https://graph.facebook.com/1466384840257158/comments?filter=stream&limit=1000+paging (the filter=stream will order the result with the timestamp).
USING SINCE UNTIL FOR COMMENTS on GROUP
If you want to use since and until for comments, it is not possible directly for a group. So, First you can apply it for status(feed) and then get the comments for that feed.
This works for me:

Why don't you try first to filter by notifications?... notifications allows you to add parameters like since. For example (using Facebook pages):

Zend_Controller_Action_Exception not showing a 404 page

I'm trying to get Zend to throw a 404 error if an array contains less than 10 elements, but it is currently just sending me a generic "Error" page. I know the 404 exception is configured properly as they work elsewhere in the site so it must be a problem with my parameters or something...
I've tried formatting this several different ways and I've checked the Zend API to make sure the parameters I'm passing are OK and they seem to be correct, but I must be doing something wrong.
My code is currently as follows:

Check out the ErrorHandler plugin docs and how it works within the MVC. You'll notice that by default the errorHandler works as postDispatch() plugin. The activity you are trying describe as '404' is completely outside of the dispatch loop so it is handled as any other program error.
I don't have any code for you but I'm pretty sure you can find a usable answer in these 2 references.

Session Management (Zend Framework specific)

I'm trying to get the rememberMe() function to remember users and retain sessions for months at a time.
I've read that if you pass a value through rememberMe() it will not work if the session has already been started. From the session_set_cookie_params() documentation in the PHP manual, "you need to call session_set_cookie_params() for every request and before session_start() is called."
By I am calling Zend_session::start() in my bootstrap as i thought I was supposed to. My problem is that rememberMe() doesn't seem to be working.
When I call session_get_cookie_params(); I get:

Any thoughts?
I've solved the problem. sessions were being erased by another website on the same server which expires sessions every 24 minutes. To fix this I set the session.save_path to a new folder. I also set session.gc_maxlifetime and session.cookie_lifetime to be very large numbers.

Don't use the start() method. It should work fine if you are using MVC. The session_start must be called before any output is send and that's right before sending response (because of outputbuffering). The session is started automatically upon first Zend_Session_namespace usage.
