I want to create a crystal report in asp.net with c# use through parameterized query by coding (not by wizard).
Create Crystal Reports on the Fly using ASP.NET.
I will show you how to dynamically
create new looking reports by using an
existing report. I consider that
close to creating reports on the fly.

I'm looking for some simple editor to test out some formulas used in Crystal Reports.
I don't want to download the entire Crystal Reports application, I just need a small, simple application or an online editor that can parse functions Crystal Reports is using.
I just need to test a few functions used in the reports and calculate the values based on the parameters I provide.
Is there anything like that?
You can export the report to a report definition format.
3rd-party report inspection tools (see list here) provide more powerful options such as mass inspection.

I have a report where I am using an on-demand sub-report. But my user is viewing this report from a java application. So whenever he run the report he will view this report in PDF.
Report format:
country name location sales
<on-demand subreport>
Now once he run the report he will get all the above fields data in PDF format.
So now if clicked on location field data in PDF will he get the sub-report's data.
PDF isn't intended to generate dynamic content. As such, you'll need to find an approach that will render the desire content in a static manner.
I would suggest that you parameterize your report to display one of these options:
main only
main + subreport
The PDF will either contain the main report's content or the main and subreport's content.

If you are using BusinessObjects Enterprise (BOE), you could use the openDocument API to generate a new report instance or the most-recently-generated instance. I don't know if Crystal Reports Server supports this feature for certain.
If you are rendering reports in a Java application, then you will need to a way to intercept the hyperlinks--a server, most likely. By in large, you'd be reinventing Crystal Reports Server/BOE.
Basically I understand as you need two thing.
you need to generate a report and export/generate in pdf.
in you need to attach link or something like editable field pdf.
For First answer, you can easily hide/show of sub-report in crystal report side. but not after report generate in pdf.
So for second answer, you need to pdf professional or editable allow version. after you get that you simply use itextsharp.dll (to generate pdf from asp.net-see below link).
So finally I think, does not needed crystal report.
please check this link.

I have a large SSRS 2008 Server Report Project (more than 200 reports). Currently my company strategy has been changed and we want to convert these server reports to client reports.
All of the Server reports use stored procedures (or in some cases from the SQL functions)
All of them work properly andthere is no problem
Beause of project scale it is not a good idea to create all of server reports in client again.
So I want to check how to convert SSRS 2008 Server reports to SSRS 2008 Client reports (.rdl to .rdlc).
Note : I know that client reports use Dataset and I have to create Dataset. I'm also looking for a way to generate these dataset too. But for now I'm just looking for a way to convert .RDL files to .RDLC files.
If there are any application which can convert RDL XML to RDLC XML let me know.
Any help appreciated.
After a while I foud this Converting RDL and RDLC Files helpfull
1- Rename the .rdl file to use the .rdlc file extension.
2- In Visual Studio 2008, open the solution or project that will contain the report.
3- Create or add the dataset that defines the data you want to use to your projector solution. For more information, see Creating Data Sources for a Report.
4- On the Project menu, click Add Existing Item and then select the .rdlc file that you created in the first step.
5- In the project, open the form or Web page that will contain the report.
Is there an api that can be used to create a crystal report programmatically? I have reports written in Powerbuilder that we need to convert to Crystal and I would like to automate the conversion.
Crystal does have a report creation API, but I believe you have to have a license to their report server product to use it> I tried to find a link to this info on their site, but it is pretty well hidden.
Review the Crystal Reports SDK. There are COM, .Net, and Java 'flavors'.
For an example of converting an RPT file to XML, review this Google Code project: RptToXml
For .NET based languages, there's a Crystal Reports SDK available from Microsoft. They expose the object model and an SDK to create Crystal Report files.
Take a look at http://crystalreports.co.uk/developer-zone/ and select the appropriate platform (Java or .NET) and this will take you to a list of links into the SAP website.
The list is maintained by the one of the partners so should be up to date.
