Problems compiling memcached_functions_mysql - memcached

I am trying to compile package memcached_functions_mysql-1.1.tag.gz I downloaded and installed libmemcached in /usr/lib/ on running
./configure --with-mysql=/home/y/bin/mysql_config --libdir=/home/y/lib/mysql/ --with-libmemcached=/usr/lib/memcached.so.2.0.0
in the memcached_functions_mysql directory I get error: message checking for libmemcached >= 0.17... configure: error: libmemcached not found
I have tried using both --with-libmemcached and also by changing /etc/ld.so.conf to include the library path where libmemcached is.
But still I am not able to compile.

I had the same problem and finally figured it out.
With libmemcached installed here:
/usr/local/lib/libmemcached.so
The config parameter needed to be:
--with-libmemcached=/usr/local/

I was able to compile by giving correct value to the variable --with-libmemcached.

Update from Qt 5.5.1 to Qt 5.6 leads to linking errors

I just try to update a project from Qt5.5.1 to Qt5.6 and now it fails during linking.

collect2.exe: error: ld returned 1 exit status
The programm compiled fine with QT5.5.1 using qbs.
Now I added the new QT Version and I get these errors.
I have no idea, why qbs adding two time the "lib" prefix, nor why qbs is trying to use it at all. This program should use the shared libraries of Qt.
Could someone give me a hint, how I can fix this? Or what the cause of the problem might be?
This issue was resolved in qbs 1.5.0.

why does ./regenerate-makefiles.sh gives error to compile irstlm

I've got a problem compiling irstlm. I've extracted it following the steps from moses and tried another way, but I always get this error:
bash: ./regenerate-makefiles.sh: No such file or directory
If you are using a version of IRSTLM later than 5.80.03, make sure you are in the "trunk" folder first.

Getting error while compiling Glib 2.36.3

I've given the required environment variable which are given below answer I'm compiling it with following code:
./configure --prefix="/home/qemu/support_libs/libs/glib"
export CFLAGS="-I`pwd`/../../support_libs/libs/gettext/include"
export LIBFFI_CFLAGS="-I`pwd`/../../support_libs/libs/libffi/lib/libffi-3.0.13/include"
export LIBFFI_LIBS="-L`pwd`/../../support_libs/libs/libffi/lib -lffi"
export ZLIB_CFLAGS="-I`pwd`/../../support_libs/libs/zlib/include"
export ZLIB_LIBS="-L`pwd`/../../support_libs/libs/zlib/lib -lz"
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="`pwd`/../../support_libs/libs/gettext/lib:`pwd`/../..
/support_libs/libs/zlib/lib"
LDFLAGS="-L`pwd`/../../support_libs/libs/gettext/lib"
I have taken care of necessary dependecy but I'm getting this error
You must have either have gettext support in your C library, or use the
*** GNU gettext library. (http://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/gettext.htm
Make sure libintl installed, and that glib can find it.
The macro to you need to satisfy is GLIB_GNU_GETTEXT, defined at https://git.gnome.org/browse/glib/tree/m4macros/glib-gettext.m4#n308
every thing is ok .. but the binary for which gettext is looking for(msgfmt) is in the bin directory of gettext(gettext/bin). so all we need to do is to add this bin path in PATH environment variable.
After this everything works fine.

Issues with g++ and Eclipse on Linux - unresolved symbols

I am running Ubuntu 64bit version, and downloaded the latest 64bit Eclipse.
Installed g++ along with build-essential. Tested g++ to make sure it works from terminal, and it works fine.
alex#ubuntu:~/Desktop$ g++ test.cpp -o test
alex#ubuntu:~/Desktop$ ./test
Hello World!alex#ubuntu:~/Desktop$
However, trying to build simple C++ Hello Word project(one of the default projects that comes with Eclipse), I am getting error.
Description Resource Path Location Type
Program "g++" not found in PATH Preferences, C++/Build/Settings/Discovery, [CDT GCC Builtin Compiler Settings] options C/C++ Scanner Discovery Problem
I have added Environment variable named g++ with value /usr/bin/g++ and the above error went away, however, now I am getting unresolved errors, though project compiles and in the Console shows !!!Hello World!!!
Description Resource Path Location Type
Symbol 'endl' could not be resolved test_hello.cpp /test_hello/src line 13 Semantic Error
Symbol 'cout' could not be resolved test_hello.cpp /test_hello/src line 13 Semantic Error
Symbol 'std' could not be resolved test_hello.cpp /test_hello/src line 10 Semantic Error
Have I correctly entered Environmental variable ?? How can I get fix the "unresolved" error ?? Thanks !
When compiling there are two important things to consider:
1.) Is my path up-to-date with executables?
2.) Is my library path correct?
It appears you satisfy 1.) but not 2.)
The unresolved symbol error means that Eclipse cannot find your library via LD_LIBRARY_PATH or some other medium. It's attempting to locate the standard compiled C++ library.
How did you install g++?
Kindly do this and post the results:
Project > Properties > C/C++ Build > Environment
If everything there appears nominal, you can try
/sbin/ldconfig
which should hopefully re-parse your system library paths and might update your environment.

However, if they have been installed in a non-standard location

*** Version Mismatch ***
You are attempt to build XML::Xerces-2.7.0-0 using Xerces-C-2.8.0,
this will most likely fail, so I am aborting.
You must use Xerces-C-2.7.0
Here's a general rule: any environment variable that is named something like "ROOT" is asking for a directory, not a file.
However, it does not appear that you have installed the Xerces library, which is necessary before you install the perl module. I'll quote some portions of the output you provided, as the hint you missed as to what to do next:
"...These instruct me how to locate the Xerces header files, and the Xerces dynamic library..."
"Without these I cannot find the config.status file that was used to
build your Xerces-C library"
So, did you install Xerces-C? You'll have much better results installing the Perl module after that.
Did you try using the PPM to install XML::Xerces?
