How can I enter RGB or Hex color values for backgrounds in Interface Builder? I can select predefined colors but I would like to manually enter in RGB values. Where can I do this?
Click on the color slider icon, and then choose "RGB Sliders" from the drop-down list.
You can also use the magnifying-glass as a color picker to pick up an exact color from anywhere on the screen; also see #ken's excellent comment below clarifying how colorspaces work with the magnifying glass.
Although Tyler's response answers the question, you may encounter issues using the picker because it uses the display's colorspace (as clarified by Ken).
If you want to match RGB values between Photoshop and Xcode exactly (without conversion between colorspaces) then you need to save your images in generic RGB and enter any dropper values using the generic RGB colorspace.
When you choose "Save for Web & Devices" from Photoshop, uncheck the "Convert to sRGB" box.
In Xcode, click the colorspace popup in the color picker and choose "Generic RGB", then enter the red, green and blue values from Photoshop, NOT THE HEX VALUE as this reverts back to the sRGB colorspace for some reason (be careful not to tab to the hex field either, as that also changes the colorspace to sRGB).
More info here, including how to match screenshots.
It sounds like you're unfamiliar with the Mac OS X color panel. Click the tabs along the top of the color panel window to choose other pickers. Pickers are also plugins, so it's possible to add new UI for color selection. See, for example, developer color picker.
I know this is an old question, but I needed to find out the answer to this very same question today and it got me on the right track. The color picker from panic.com did install correctly but the hexadecimal option from the drop down menu in the color picker always sets it to RGB. So no good. Instead I found this:
http://wafflesoftware.net/hexpicker/
That shows the hexadecimal value and it works fully on Xcode 5.0.1 and Mavericks.
Check the above snap, in that go to Colors Tray, select the second button(RGB sliders(rectangle image) - which is placed next to circle on the top of the tray). In that you can enter RGB values.

Unfortunately this is a long-time open bug in VS Code:

I am looking for changing colors of an illustration svg in flutter. I tried flutter_svg package but it support applying only one color to the svg and if I do that svg will be displayed as a single color svg, individual colors are lost. Is there any way to change colors at runtime in flutter for a multi color svg?
Do you mean something like this? I call it SVG colorization.
I'll try to squeeze the concept into a short summary. In an SVG file, you need to play around with the fill property as it defines the hex color code.
In terms of programming, you would:
Extract the SVG file data as a String variable svgCode.
Assign the previous hex color code in previousColor & the currently selected hex color code in newColor.
Apply the String.replaceAll method on svgCode to replace the colors.
Update the value of the previousColor.
A more brief elaboration would be
/// Initially without any color selection.
SVGPicture.string('''<svg code with fill #f7ebcb>''');
/// After the user selects the red color.
SVGPicture.string('''<svg code with fill #FF0000>''');
This tutorial can help to solve your issue. Not only does this app changes the color on runtime, but it also allows the user to download the manipulated SVG code.
In my application the users can create a list of names associated with icons and colours. I've got the data stored in a GtkListStore and displayed using a GtkTreeView. The colour column is a GtkCellRendererText with the background-rgba property holding an opaque colour selected by the user. It looks like this.
However as you can see the selection bar hides the currently selected colour. The colour definition I've used in the CSS is alpha(#cce8ff, 0.5) and I know that the alpha is working because the colour fades out when I decrease the alpha value.
What I want is for the background colour in the cell to be visible through the selection highlight, although I could also live with the background colour blocking the selection highlight in that cell as long as the selected row was still clearly identified.
Is there some incantation I can use to achieve this? Or is this a bug in GTK3?
I'm using GTK 3.24.1 on Fedora 29. The application is written in Haskell using the gi-gtk binding.
Seems like a trival question but I'm stuck finding out how to change to text color for an operation(method) in Enterprise Architect 13.5.
The class name text color I can change through "Default Appearance" via Right mouse button. But I can NOT find a way to change the text color of one or more operation(s).
The reason I want this is because my class/object background color is dark(er) so I want a Light(er) text color for both my class name and operations so that they still are readable.
Thanks for helping!
You cannot change the color of individual operations.
You can only change the general default color using the general preferences.
Is it possible to change the color of text in a Facebook like button? Besides selecting a different color scheme, I don't see a way to adjust the font...
Facebook retains control over their button and only allows you to set predefined options for skinning it. As font color goes, you can choose the light colorscheme to go with light backgrounds, or the dark colorscheme to go with dark backgrounds.
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box/
YES
It can be done
NO
It's probably not allowed by Facebook's brand guidelines.
Demonstration
I created a demo page that lets you pick the colors using a slider or palette, or that lets you manipulate the filter directly.
Background information
The technique basically works by applying a hue-rotate filter to the element containing the i-frame. Hue-rotate sort-of rotates a color wheel. As such we can't give the button any color we want. We are limited to the 360 degrees of rotation we can apply to the default button. But there are some greens, browns, reds, pink and even purple we can play with. Try it out for yourself.
