The fb:live-stream tag won't work in Chrome when I add it to my facebook application. It works fine in Firefox.
<div class="content">
<fb:live-stream event_app_id="1234" width="519" height="625"/>
</div>
Anyone already had this problem?
works for me? in both.
what does it display instead?
one idea:
your developer has to visit the stream to activate it, i.e. your facebook api_key is assosciated with a number of developers. every new stream only gets created once a developer accesses it.

I am trying to implement Facebook Register Plugin on my website for landing pages.
I am following this guide:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/registration/v2.0
I've written following code:
<div id="registration">
<iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/registration?client_id=660604224016242&redirect_uri=http://automaton.in/store_user_data.php?&fields=[{"name":"name"},{"name":"email"},{"name":"password"},{"name":"gender"},{"name":"birthday"}]">
</iframe>
</div>
But nothing is showing up instead of a box with border.
I've also created my facebook app with app-id 660604224016242.
Also, I am running my site locally without a local server! Do I need to run this on a server?
Please help me, I really need to implement this plugin!
For my selfhosted Wordpress blog, i wish to add Feedburner email subscription form.
Embed code from feedburner site:
<form action="http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify" method="post" target="popupwindow" onsubmit="window.open('http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=[BLOGNAME]', 'popupwindow', 'scrollbars=yes,width=550,height=520');return true">
My issue is, i dont want the popup window to show up. That thing is so 80's stuff.
Instead, is it possible to show the popup contents inline? Using JS or PHP or something?
Check out how div contents change over click here using JS: http://www.willmaster.com/library/web-development/replace-div-content.php
Would be great if something similar could be worked out.
I guess this is easy to do but i have limited knowledge on web designs and php/js/forms.
Thanks in advance.
PS: Please do not suggest plugins. I hate installing plugins unless absolutely necessary.
You can change target="popupwindow" to target="_self" or target="_blank", it can load in current page or go to a new page.
I am using fb comment plugin with angularjs and html5. it opens in a modal window on a link click. all works fine but when someone else comments on it, it doesnt appear automatically on my window. it needs to be refreshed. I want it to be dynamic
Code used is:
<div class="fb-comments"
data-href="http://pingle.in?postId={{postresult.id}}" data-width="550px" data-numposts="5"
data-colorscheme="light"></div>
I have a fairly simple jQuery mobile app, which works fine as a web app (tested in browsers on desktops/smartphones) but when porting it to android using phonegap, I have one major issue. It occurs both on a real phone and in an AVD.
there's a form in the app, like:
<div data-theme="a" data-role="dialog" id="a-form">
<div data-role="content">
<h3>...</h3>
<form action="http://a-live-site.com/a-form.php" method="post">
...
<div data-role="fieldcontain">
<button type="submit">Submit</button>
</div>
</form>
</div>
</div>
Its response content loads perfectly in the browser (the action is a relative link there), but within phonegap I just get a white screen and the hardware back button exits the app instead of the usual step back in history. The puzzling thing is that the request actually gets through. The server side code triggers an email, so I know the server is getting the request. I have added the appropriate <access /> rules in the phonegap.xml file, but I'm not sure that's enough.
EDIT: the form is in static content so, in phonegap, it's loaded by file:// and shouldn't have cross-domain issues.
The problem was due to data-role="dialog" in the result. Using page fixed it. It only broke in phonegap and phonegap's logs made it look like it was something else. A real PITA.
The fbml below generates an invite form using a multi-friend-selector. Everything works, except the Skip button. No matter what url I place in the action attribute, the action in the rendered form is always blank. This of course causes the Skip button to 404.
<div class="invite">
<fb:serverFbml width="626">
<script type="text/fbml">
<fb:request-form
action="default.asp"
target="_top"
method="POST"
invite="true"
type="My Application"
content="<fb:req-choice url='facebook.com/somepage' label='Authorize my Application'/>">
<fb:multi-friend-selector showborder="true" email_invite="false" cols="4" rows="1" actiontext="Invite your friends to use My Application!">
</fb:multi-friend-selector>
</fb:request-form>
</script>
</fb:serverFbml>
</div>
Edit: On closer inspection, it looks like the 404 it goes to is http://www.facebook.com/plugins/serverfbml.php?. Found this as the only 404 response when tracking in Fiddler.
had the same problem and it was driving me crazy but i managed to fix it.
Try this : <fb:req-choice url='facebook.com/somepage' '
just add another ' right after that, make sure you use space between them. It's funny how I spent 2 hours trying to figure that out. If you wish I'll just copy and paste the whole code. Hope this helps, I'm pretty sure it will since I had the exact same issue. Cheers.
I had the same issue!!!
The fix was the following in my case:
action="http://YOURDOMAINNAME/APP/welcome.htm?${query_string}"
YOURDOMAINNAME must be the same as in your Canvas URL!
Update
Official response from Facebook on my bug report; they've closed it. Only took five months :).
Thanks for the report.
As we are in the process of
deprecating FBML/FBJS, we will not be
adding additional features or fixing
current bugs. If you are creating an
application on facebook.com, please
implement your application using our
supported APIs, SDKs and Social
Plugins. Using these you can embed
many of the same social features
available in FBML.
