Any solution to this:
Assembly 'DomainModel, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' uses 'System.Web.Mvc, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' which has a higher version than referenced assembly 'System.Web.Mvc, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'
DomainModel\bin\Debug\DomainModel.dll
I have re-added the reference that points to mvc2, and whatmore is required ? Still this error.
ThankYou!
You need to add an assembly binding redirection section to your web.config file:
<runtime>
<assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1">
<dependentAssembly>
<assemblyIdentity name="System.Web.Mvc" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" />
<bindingRedirect oldVersion="1.0.0.0" newVersion="2.0.0.0" />
</dependentAssembly>
</assemblyBinding>
</runtime>

I have a old module in DotNetNuke. I used EF 5 in my project:
I added module to DotNetNuke and it worked properly. But when I add new module that requierd to EF 6 my module gives me an error:
Could not load file or assembly 'EntityFramework, Version=5.0.0.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its
dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not
match the assembly reference.
When installing this new module EntityFramework 6 dll file will be replaced with old version (Version=5.0.0.0) file and this causes old module doesn't work.
I read many post for solving this problem but I can't find a way for this issue.
It would be very helpful if someone could explain solution for this problem.
You can add this to your web.config
<configuration>
<runtime>
<dependentAssembly>
<assemblyIdentity name="EntityFramework" publicKeyToken="b77a5c561934e089" culture="neutral" />
<codeBase version="6.0.0.0" href="bin/EntityFramework-6.1.3/EntityFramework.dll" />
</dependentAssembly>
<dependentAssembly>
<assemblyIdentity name="EntityFramework.SqlServer" publicKeyToken="b77a5c561934e089" culture="neutral" />
<codeBase version="6.0.0.0" href="bin/EntityFramework-6.1.3/EntityFramework.SqlServer.dll" />
</dependentAssembly>
</runtime>
</configuration>
You have to add a folder called EntityFramework-6.1.3 into bin folder then add two follow dll to that
1-EntityFramework.dll
2-EntityFramework.SqlServer.dll
You can add this to web.config
<configuration>
<runtime>
<assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1">
<dependentAssembly>
<assemblyIdentity name="EntityFramework" publicKeyToken="b77a5c561934e089" culture="neutral" />
<bindingRedirect oldVersion="0.0.0.0-6.1.3.0" newVersion="6.1.3.0" />
</dependentAssembly>
</assemblyBinding>
</runtime>
</configuration>
Installed VS 2015 latest update and all packages are up-to-date. Then I encountered following error almost every time while re-generating data model using code first from database (I used T4 with a bit customization). Never had this error before. Sometimes I can solve this error by restarting VS 2015 or rebooting my workstation, but not always. Anybody has the same issue. Thanks for your help.
An error occurred generating the Code First model. The error occurred generating the contents of DbCtx.cs.

It seems you add both Entity Framework V.6 and V.4 as reference to your project. remove one of them.
I have a class library. within this project I have a folder named 'models' with a few class models. I have all the references I need.
app.config:

solved.
the app.config does not suppose to have <connectionStrings>. the Web.config do.
then in the MyDbContext.cs:
public MyDbContext():base("connectionString"){}
I get this error :

And I installed :

But I still get this error.
I just had the same problem. The cause of my issue is that whilst I was running the application via IIS (as an application under the Default Web Site), there was a Web.config in the root that also had the <entityFramework> section defined.
Removed the Web.config from the root, and problem was solved.
Add this to web.config file
<entityFramework xdt:Transform="RemoveAll" />
If you have this problem while testing in IIS Express, look for a conflict in the higher-level "web.config" used by IIS Express. I found that I had a problem in C:\Users\yourUserIDHere\Documents\IISExpress\config**applicationhost.config**.
applicationhost.config is a sort of higher-level web.config for IIS Express.
My site was defined in there with a left over folder location on my C: drive where I had run an older copy of my project in the past.
Add this to web.release.config file
<entityFramework xdt:Transform="RemoveAll" />
so that when you deploy the web application entityFramework will not be on the web app's config file
Am taking a Silverlight / WCF RIA Service project from EF4 to EF5. Target is .NET4.5
Here is a spike - am using a DB First approach. ie create edmx, then use the Domain Services Classes Wizard
So looking good so far as have
EntityFramework (5.0.0.0)
Microsoft.ServiceModel.DomainServices.EntityFramework (4.0.0.0) DbDomainService in here
System.Data.Entity (4.0.0.0)
as opposed to old way of:
EntityFramework (5.0.0.0)
System.Data.Entity (4.0.0.0)
System.ServiceModel.DomainServices.EntityFramework (4.0.0.0) LinqToEntitiesDomainService in here
then have put a simple UI on to access the 2 table db and it worked
Problem: This web.config isn't what I expected:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<configuration>
<configSections>
<sectionGroup name="system.serviceModel">

I was expecting to have to put in:

Got these bits of config from the following. Perhaps they are all codefirst specific.
https://github.com/jeffhandley/riabooks
http://jeffhandley.com/archive/2012/12/10/RIA-Services-NuGet-Package-Updates-ndash-Including-Support-for-EntityFramework.aspx
http://mcasamento.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/entity-framework-5-code-first-and-wcf.html
The RIA Services dll is compiled against EF 4, not EF5, so the binding Redirect is used to make everything work. If/when RIA Services is open sourced there will be a new release of RiaServices.EntityFramework that will be compiled against EF 5 and EF 6. One of the benefits of open source will be the ability to put out as many NuGet packages as I want to support all combinations.
