I'm 2 levels down on a UINavigationContoller having already pushed a few views. Now I'm looking at an image inside one of the pushed view controllers and when I tap an info button in the navigation bar, I want the sub view to flip leaving the nav bar in place. How do I get just the subview (the view that was pushed) to flip? Right now the nav bar also flips and prevents me from navigating back up my stack.

In my application, I have navigation controller with two view controllers: MainController and DetailController.
In main view controller I have an image view and I want to push DetailController with animation like GarageBand menu when I tap on image view(look to 20 second of this video).
So, question is how to implement fade-in animation.

I can animate image fading out:

How about using paging with UIScrollView.
I think it is better than using UIView animation.
So various iterations of this question seems to have been asked on this site multiple times, but none of them seem to apply to my situation. So I've got a login screen that flips to a navigation controller upon successful login. When it flips to the navigation view, the navigation bar is all the way at the top, and then shifts down once the animation is complete. This does not create an odd white space above the navigation bar, because the navigation bar is starting embedded in the status bar during the animation. I have checked that both view controllers in question have the status bar enabled, so I'm not sure what I need to do to fix this strange problem.

Keep the following code in viewDidAppear and viewWillDisappear calls in the view controller you want to present as modal

You can keep an extra flag in viewcontroller class so that you can enable/disable the page curl as required.
I am working to force a view into landscape mode, and have picked up all kinds of cool tips to make this happen, but am stuck on one item that is left on the screen.
I have my XIB file laid out in landscape, and in my code I create the view controller normally:

So to the question, how do I get rid of the bar?
Edit: I am pretty sure this is the navigation bar that is not being hidden.
This is a duplicate of another post, with some modified code, the other question was being answered with the bug.
Remove the navigation bar from Interface Builder or see if its being left behind by one of your other controllers.
I lost a few days on a similar problem because I didn't realize that one of my navbars was not being removed when another controller with a nav bar was being pushed onto another controller with a navbar. ;)

I want to flip between two UIViews.
Somehow, when I flip away from the initial view, I just get the flipped view, without animation. When I flip back, the animation shows just fine.
The flips are triggered from buttons on the views themselves.

It's probably because you aren't using a container view as the transition view. Refer to the documentation on setAnimationTransition:forView:cache:
If you want to change the appearance of a view during a transition—for example, flip from one view to another—then use a container view, an instance of UIView, as follows:
Begin an animation block.
Set the transition on the container view.
Remove the subview from the container view.
Add the new subview to the container view.
Commit the animation block.
Try using self.view.superview in the animation transition view of the showMoreInfo:
The reason the showLessInfo: method works is you are using a container view.
Can you use your MainWindow (UIWindow) as the container view as UIWindow inherence from UIView?
Also iPhone 3.0 introduced the flip transaction via the presentModalViewController method:

As Jason mentioned, you'll need this to occur within a container view.
