adding page control to uiscrollview [duplicate] - iphone

i ve created a uiscrollview containing a page control which loads the images from resource bundle..everything works good.i m able to scroll through different images..the problem is if i m to click the corresponding pagecontrol(dot), i m not able to navigate to the corresponding image....could u guys help me out below is the code...the below code works perfectly fine
// Email.h
#interface Email : UIViewController<UIScrollViewDelegate>
{
UIPageControl *pageControl;
UIScrollView *scroller;
}
#property (nonatomic,retain)IBOutlet UIPageControl *pageControl;
#property (nonatomic,retain)IBOutlet UIScrollView *scroller;
-(IBAction)clickPageControl:(id)sender;
#end
// Email.m
#implementation Email
#synthesize pageControl,scroller;
-(IBAction)clickPageControl:(id)sender
{
int page=pageControl.currentPage;
CGRect frame=scroller.frame;
frame.origin.x=frame.size.width=page;
frame.origin.y=0;
[scroller scrollRectToVisible:frame animated:YES];
}
-(void)scrollViewDidEndDecelerating:(UIScrollView *)scrollView
{
int page = scrollView.contentOffset.x/scrollView.frame.size.width;
pageControl.currentPage=page;
}
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
self.title=#"Press Photos";
for (int i=1; i<10; i++)
{
UIImageView *images=[[UIImageView alloc]initWithImage:
[UIImage imageNamed:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d.jpg",i]]];
images.frame=CGRectMake((i-1)*320, 0, 320, 460);
[scroller addSubview:images];
[images release];
}
scroller.delegate=self;
scroller.contentSize=CGSizeMake(320*9, 460);
scroller.pagingEnabled=YES;
pageControl.numberOfPages=9;
pageControl.currentPage=0;
}

frame.origin.x=frame.size.width=page;
should be
frame.origin.x = frame.size.width * page;

iOS Multiple Images Paging and Zooming Issues

There are a few threads out there related to this issues, but could not find a solid solution. Any help would be appreciated. This code works great if you give it one image. Zooms in perfect. You give it two images it scrolls threws the images fine but when you go to zoom in it always zooms into the first image? Not sure why the viewForZoomingInScrollView method doesn't figure out which view you are on. Code posted below

Swiping Images with Page Control in Iphone

I am trying to make practice app where i can scroll images with page control. I am able to scroll images and able to include the page control. But the problem i face is i am not able to interlink the two. Meaning to say when I scroll the images, the page control is not affected and when i change the page control, the scrolling of the images is unaffected.
I have referred to this: http://www.iosdevnotes.com/2011/03/uiscrollview-paging/ for the scrolling with page control.
Viewcontroller.h
#import <UIKit/UIKit.h>
#interface ViewController : UIViewController <UIScrollViewDelegate>{
UIScrollView *scrollView;
UIPageControl *pageControl;
BOOL pageControlBeingUsed;
}
#property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIScrollView *scrollView;
#property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIPageControl *pageControl;
- (IBAction)changePage;
#end
Viewcontroller.m
#import "ViewController.h"
#interface ViewController ()
#end
#implementation ViewController
#synthesize scrollView,pageControl;
- (void)scrollViewDidScroll:(UIScrollView *)sender {
if (!pageControlBeingUsed) {
// Switch the indicator when more than 50% of the previous/next page is visible
CGFloat pageWidth = self.scrollView.frame.size.width;
int page = floor((self.scrollView.contentOffset.x - pageWidth / 2) / pageWidth) + 1;
self.pageControl.currentPage = page;
}
}
- (void)scrollViewWillBeginDragging:(UIScrollView *)scrollView {
pageControlBeingUsed = NO;
}
- (void)scrollViewDidEndDecelerating:(UIScrollView *)scrollView {
pageControlBeingUsed = NO;
}
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
NSArray *images = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:[UIImage imageNamed:#"1.jpeg"],[UIImage imageNamed:#"2.jpeg"],[UIImage imageNamed:#"3.jpeg" ], nil];
self.scrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(self.scrollView.frame.size.width * images.count, self.scrollView.frame.size.height);
for (int i = 0; i < images.count; i++) {
CGRect frame;
frame.origin.x = self.scrollView.frame.size.width * i;
frame.origin.y = 0;
frame.size = self.scrollView.frame.size;
UIImageView* imgView = [[UIImageView alloc] init];
imgView.image = [images objectAtIndex:i];
imgView.frame = frame;
[scrollView addSubview:imgView];
}
self.pageControl.currentPage = 0;
self.pageControl.numberOfPages = images.count;
}
- (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning
{
[super didReceiveMemoryWarning];
// Dispose of any resources that can be recreated.
}
- (void)viewDidUnload {
// Release any retained subviews of the main view.
// e.g. self.myOutlet = nil;
self.scrollView = nil;
self.pageControl = nil;
}
- (IBAction)changePage{
// update the scroll view to the appropriate page
CGRect frame;
frame.origin.x = self.scrollView.frame.size.width * self.pageControl.currentPage;
frame.origin.y = 0;
frame.size = self.scrollView.frame.size;
[self.scrollView scrollRectToVisible:frame animated:YES];
pageControlBeingUsed = YES;
}
#end
Need some guidance on this... Thanks..
I learned page control and scrollView from this tutorial, its very clearly written, hope it helps you http://www.raywenderlich.com/10518/how-to-use-uiscrollview-to-scroll-and-zoom-content
Check whether you have set the delegate of the scroll view to the ViewController
And you have just set the pageControlBeingUsed to YES or NO and you have not used it anywhere in the ViewController

Scrolling of images using UIScrollView in iphone

I am a newbie to iphone development and i am doing a simple app for practice. In that app,there is only one view that has an image on it. I want to be able to swipe left or right and have the first image go out of the view and the second image to come in. The images are different and I want it to look like they are connected. I need it to be able to change the image or restart after a series of swipes. I am doing this using ScrollView only.
I have tried something:
ViewController.h
#import <UIKit/UIKit.h>
#interface ViewController : UIViewController <UIScrollViewDelegate>
{
UIImageView *imgView;
UIScrollView *scrollView;
}
#property (nonatomic,retain)IBOutlet UIImageView *imgView;
#property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIScrollView *scrollView;
//- (id)initWithPageNumber:(int)page;
- (IBAction)changePage:(id)sender;
#end
ViewController.m
#import "ViewController.h"
#interface ViewController ()
#end
#implementation ViewController
#synthesize imgView,scrollView;
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
}
- (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning
{
[super didReceiveMemoryWarning];
// Dispose of any resources that can be recreated.
}
/*
- (id)initWithPageNumber:(int)page{
if (self = [super initWithNibName:#"MyView" bundle:nil])
{
pageNumber = page;
}
return self;
}
*/
- (void)scrollViewDidEndDecelerating:(UIScrollView *)scrollview
{
scrollView.contentOffset = CGPointMake(scrollview.bounds.size.width, 0);
}
- (IBAction)changePage:(id)sender
{
NSArray *images = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:#"1.jpeg",#"2.jpeg",#"3.jpeg", nil];
scrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:self.view.bounds];
[self.view addSubview:scrollView];
CGRect cRect = scrollView.bounds;
for (int i = 0; i < images.count; i++){
imgView = [images objectAtIndex:i];
imgView.frame = cRect;
[scrollView addSubview:imgView];
cRect.origin.x += cRect.size.width;
}
scrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(scrollView.frame.size.width * images.count, scrollView.bounds.size.height);
scrollView.contentOffset = CGPointMake(scrollView.bounds.size.width, 0);
}
#end
When i run the app, I am still not able to swipe across the images. Am i doing something wrong? Need some guidance on this. Thanks..
This error indicates that you have a connection in Interface Builder with an IBOutlet that does not exist in your view controller class.
Make sure your IBOutlets are named correctly and that you have removed all obsolete connections in IB.
scrollView.ContentSize = (scrollView.frame.size.width * images.count
,scrollView.frame.size.height)
do this after lopping it will swipe

iPhone Dev- Page Control - scrollViewDidScroll not firing

I'm new to iPhone development and am working on this tutorial: http://www.iosdevnotes.com/2011/03/uiscrollview-paging/#comment-25166 - but am doing it in XCode 4.3.2. The example is pretty simple and I understand the code, but for some reason the scrollViewDidScroll function isn't firing for me in my ViewController.m (this thus doesn't change the Page Control pagination icons and update it to the current page). I placed an NSLog() in this function so I can tell if it is ever activating - but in my debug console I never see this text
The code from my ViewController.h is:
#import <UIKit/UIKit.h>
#interface ViewController : UIViewController <UIScrollViewDelegate> {
UIScrollView* scrollView;
UIPageControl* pageControl;
}
#property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIScrollView* scrollView;
#property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIPageControl* pageControl;
#end
The code from my ViewController.m is:
#import "ViewController.h"
#implementation ViewController
#synthesize scrollView, pageControl;
// Implement viewDidLoad to do additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib.
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
NSArray *colors = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:[UIColor redColor], [UIColor greenColor], [UIColor blueColor], nil];
for (int i = 0; i < colors.count; i++) {
CGRect frame;
frame.origin.x = self.scrollView.frame.size.width * i;
frame.origin.y = 0;
frame.size = self.scrollView.frame.size;
UIView *subview = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:frame];
subview.backgroundColor = [colors objectAtIndex:i];
[self.scrollView addSubview:subview];
[subview release];
}
self.scrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(self.scrollView.frame.size.width * colors.count, self.scrollView.frame.size.height);
self.pageControl.currentPage = 0;
self.pageControl.numberOfPages = colors.count;
}
//!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
//THIS IS WHERE MY PROBLEM IS -- THIS CODE DOESN'T SEEM TO EVER GET RUN EVEN WHEN I SCROLL!!!!!
//!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- (void)scrollViewDidScroll:(UIScrollView *)sender {
NSLog(#"this just fired");
// Switch the indicator when more than 50% of the previous/next page is visible
CGFloat pageWidth = self.scrollView.frame.size.width;
int page = floor((self.scrollView.contentOffset.x - pageWidth / 2) / pageWidth) + 1;
self.pageControl.currentPage = page;
}
- (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning {
[super didReceiveMemoryWarning];
}
- (void)viewDidUnload {
self.scrollView = nil;
self.pageControl = nil;
}
- (void)dealloc {
[scrollView release];
[pageControl release];
[super dealloc];
}
#end
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been going back and forth from the downloadable file they have on the tutorial to my own over and over and over... I just feel like this thing should fire when I start scrolling and have no idea why it's not... Thanks in advance!
In Interface Builder you did not connect the scroll view’s “delegate” outlet to you view controller. But you can do it programmatically.
[self.scrollView setDelegate:self];
dianz is Right, Set your delegate.
[self.scrollView setDelegate:self];
OR
self.scrollView.delegate=self;
You forgot to set your delegate:
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
// This is what you forgot to do, set the delegate of the scrollView.
scrollView.delegate = self;
NSArray *colors = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:[UIColor redColor], [UIColor greenColor], [UIColor blueColor], nil];
for (int i = 0; i < colors.count; i++) {
CGRect frame;
frame.origin.x = self.scrollView.frame.size.width * i;
frame.origin.y = 0;
frame.size = self.scrollView.frame.size;
UIView *subview = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:frame];
subview.backgroundColor = [colors objectAtIndex:i];
[self.scrollView addSubview:subview];
[subview release];
}
Please make sure you have set the scrollview delegate to the viewcontroller you want.
You can also attach the delegate in the xib file, if the scrollview is added in the xib.
Also, don't forget to implement the scrollview delegate protocol UIScrollViewDelegate in the viewcontroller's header file.

UIScrollView addSubView: How do you prevent re-adding the same UILabel instance?

So apparently I'm adding the same label over and over. I have an IBOutlet for UILabel that I hooked up in IB. I did that because that's the position I want it in for my UIScrollView. I also want a new label on each page in my ScrollView but I can't figure out how to do it.
Any suggestions for how to accomplish this? Because I'm lost :-/
AnotherMadeUpViewController.h
#import <UIKit/UIKit.h>
#interface AnotherMadeUpViewController : UIViewController<UIScrollViewDelegate>
{
IBOutlet UIPageControl *pageControl;
IBOutlet UIScrollView *scroller;
IBOutlet UILabel *label;
}
#property (nonatomic,retain)IBOutlet UIPageControl *pageControl;
#property (nonatomic,retain)IBOutlet UIScrollView *scroller;
#property (nonatomic,retain)IBOutlet UILabel *label;
-(IBAction)clickPageControl:(id)sender;
#end
AnotherMadeUpViewController.m
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
scroller.delegate=self;
scroller.pagingEnabled=YES;
scroller.directionalLockEnabled=YES;
scroller.showsHorizontalScrollIndicator=NO;
scroller.showsVerticalScrollIndicator=NO;
scroller.contentSize=CGSizeMake(pageControl.numberOfPages*scroller.frame.size.width, scroller.frame.size.height);
CGFloat labelOriginX = label.frame.origin.x;
CGFloat labelOriginY = label.frame.origin.y;
CGFloat scrollWidth = 0;
int pageNumber = 0;
for (int i=0; i<3; i++)
{
CGRect rect = label.frame;
rect.size.height = label.frame.size.height;
rect.size.width = label.frame.size.width;
rect.origin.x = labelOriginX + scrollWidth;
rect.origin.y = labelOriginY;
label.frame = rect;
label.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"%d", pageNumber];
label.textColor = [UIColor redColor];
[scroller addSubview:label];
pageNumber++;
scrollWidth += scroller.frame.size.width;
}
pageControl.numberOfPages=3;
pageControl.currentPage=0;
[self.view addSubview:scroller];
}
You are re-adding the same UILabel instance over and over then, nothing happens other than changing the label's location (frame) in the scrollView's contentView. You'd have to add 8 copies of that label to the scrollView, each in a different frame. If you want to tile an image in the scrollView's background, try setting its backgroundColor to a pattern image created with +[UIColor colorWithPatternImage: ]
