I have UITable which contains some UIButtons. I would like a way to use the label.
The problem I have is that I need two tag labels, one for retrieving the cell in tableviewCellWithReuseIdentifier and configureCell.
Until recently I have been using the UIButton.title to determine which row in the table I selected. The (invisible) text was the row number.
Now I need to use the title for some visible text. How can I still find which row was pressed?
When I press the area outside the button the usual didSelectRowAtIndexPath is called. The hard part is that I want to capture both the UIButton (which calls its own selector) and the row, which I had been finding out from the title. Now I need the title for something else.
I use something like this. This will get you the indexpath in the tableview.

CGPoint buttonOriginInTableView = [button convertPoint:CGPointZero toView:tableView];
NSIndexPath *indexPath = [tableView indexPathForRowAtPoint:buttonOriginInTableView];

You could subclass UITableViewCell or UIButton and add some properties.
You should implement the UITableViewDelegate protocol.
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
// Do something based on selected row (indexPath.row)
}
Implement the UITableViewDelegate protocol. It will help you and do what you need.
didSelectRowAtIndexPath is autmatically called whenever a row is selected in your table.
in your .m file the one with the table view controller if there isn't one there add this method:
-(void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
// NSInteger row = [indexPath row];
// or (indexPath.row)
// do whatever you like with this value which tells you which row is selected.
}

I have a UITableView for which I have created a custom UITableViewCell. Each row in tableview has a button. I want to know the section number on click of a button, so that I would know that from which section button has been clicked. I have already tried few things found on stack but nothing is working.
UIButton *b = sender;
NSIndexPath *path = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:b.tag inSection:0];
NSLog(#"Row %d - Section : %d", path.row, path.section);
Don't know what you've tried, but i might do something like this. Doing some pseudocode from memory, here.

// this converts the coordinate system of the origin from the button's superview to the table view's coordinate system.
CGPoint originInTableView = [self.tableView convertPoint:buttonOrigin fromView:[sender superview];

NSIndexPath rowIndexPath = [self.tableView indexPathForRowAtPoint:originInTableView];
NSInteger section = [rowIndexPath section];
}
If I'm thinking clearly, this gives you flexibility in case the button's not directly inside the UITableView cell. Say, if you've nested inside some intermediary view.
Sadly, there doesn't seem to be an iOS equivalent of NSTableView's rowForView:
Create a handler for button click and add it in tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: method

When you create your custom UITableViewCell in cellForRowAtIndexPath you should pass it its section as a parameter. It could look like:

MyCustomCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:#"MyIdentifier"];

Now your cell knows its section and you can use it when performing click method in MyCustomCell class
Try this,
First assign section as a tag to button also add target on button in cellForRowAtIndexPath method.

I have a table where 5 cells are there. In each cell there is a button. I need to change those buttons dynamically on some conditions. How to change the button dynamically in table view.
What you can do is Write a function which will change the values of the buttons and then you can call that function. After changing button values then use any one of the mentioned method below:
You can use either : [tableview reloadData]; to reload all the table data.
OR
You can reload particular rows using the following method :
[tableview reloadRowsAtIndexPaths: indexPath withRowAnimation:anyKindOfAnimation];
You can query your table view for all visible cells through -visibleCells, get the reference of your button (assuming you have a UITableViewCell subclass with a property for the button) and change them.
First you need to set tags for each buttons. This can be done by

//Your code
cell.Button.tag = indexPath.row;

Then you can get the button from this method

You can follow the same steps for - (IBAction)buttonClick2:(id)sender
Now you can track which button was clicked and change the method for that button.
And declare your cell and button strong.
I create tow or more custom cell
each cell has a switch inside
How can I know which switch in the row I click
ex.I click the switch in row 3,than It will return indexPath.row = 3
and also the switch status is on or off ?
which void I should put in ?
I know there is a way can get indexpath return by:

But I don't want to touch the row,just the switch ...

When you create the switch, set up a target and action for it:
[mySwitch addTarget:self action:#selector(switchToggled:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventValueChanged];
Here, the target self is your UITableViewController, in which you'll need to implement the method (void) switchToggled:(id)sender to handle the control event. The switch will automatically send itself to the switchToggled method as the sender when it is toggled. Like this (modified from the UIButton example you linked):

The cell in this iPhone TableView definitely has a Detail-Disclosure-Button.
When I tap it... shouldn't this code give me access to the button?

are you over-riding the cell accessory button in 'cellForRowAtIndexPath' by any chance?
accessoryView is provided for your own customization, to override accessoryType. The table view cell will internally handle whatever you assign to accessoryType without affecting accessoryView.
I want to add the content of the cell of tableview in other view when i click on the tableview cell , how can i pass the values of the cell to other view.
If you want use the text of a cellview for example you can do that in your UITableViewDelegate (or your UITableViewController):

In your table view delegate (by default, it's the table view controller) implement the following method:
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
Use indexPath as you did in -tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: to get the values you need. To avoid unexpected behavior you should extract the values from your model rather than the cell.
