My workplace uses a closed network, so all software tools have to be manually transferred. I've installed Subversive (version 0.7.9) successfully, and brought in the latest archive for the connectors from here: Polarion SVN Connector download site. I was able to install the connectors in Helios Eclipse by going to Help | Install New Software... | Add... | Archive..., and choosing the connectors zip file. The installation appeared to complete successfully, then it asked me to restart Eclipse. Now, when Eclipse starts up, it pops up the discovery dialog, but then pops up an error dialog with 'Unexpected exception'. When I close that, it pops up another dialog that says something like 'Could not find any connectors. Check your internet connection and try again.'. When I look at the error in the error log, the stack trace starts out like this:
java.lang.IllegalStateException
at org.eclipse.team.svn.core.discovery.model.DiscoveryRegistryStrategy.processBundles(DiscoveryRegistryStrategy.java:89)...
After I close the dialog, Subversive acts as though I have no connectors installed (the connector drop-down is blank in the SVN preferences), even though by inspecting the installed software list and plugins directory, it looks like they're all present. It seems as though the discovery module insists upon trying to find the connectors on the internet, and won't recognize local update sites.
Any help is very much appreciated!

According to this (original german, translated), the Helios version is not compatible with the Polarion connectors you're using. Try using the ones from the update site. Watch out that your javaHL matches your JAVA/machine architecture (32/64 bit) if you use it, otherwise will cause serious issues.

I installed both m2e.subversive and Subclipse onto eclipse, but when I tried to paste in an svn URL it gives me the error below. I've looked around the net but can't seem to find a solution.
SVN: 'Checkout As' operation finished with error
Selected resource is not cCheckhecked out.
Selected SVN connector library is not available or cannot be loaded.
If you selected native JavaHL connector, please check if binaries are available or install and select pure Java Subversion connector from the plug-in connectors update site.
If connectors already installed then you can change the selected one at: Window->Preferences->Team->SVN->SVN Connector.
If you have already installed a connector, this sounds like Eclipse bug 518033. See comment 7 for a workaround.
I just downloaded a fresh Eclipse JEE Neon.1a Release (4.6.1) on my Windows 10 machine.
I went to the marketplace to get the latest Subversive SVN Team Provider 4.0.2.
Trying to install results in the Message: The following solutions are not available: SVN Team Provider 4.0.2.
I chose to continue anyways, and it seemed to work.
After the restart, i chose the SVNKit 1.8.14 Subversive SVN Connector and installed without any issues.
Now I was able to do basic SVN operations, all seemed fine.
Except to share a new project. I created a new Project called "test" and tried to share as a new project.
That results in the Message:
Share project was failed.
Can't overwrite cause with org.tmatesoft.svn.core.SVNException: svn: E160013: URL 'http://sol:3380/svn/repo/test' non-existent in that revision.
I tried to share a new project to another SVN Server, same error message.
I repeated the whole process on different machines, same message.
I Installed SVN Team Provider directly from the Update Site instead of the Marketplace. Same Issue.
I went to the SVNKit website to try older Versions of SVNKit and installed via the archived Update Sites, but they wont even show up in the SVN Connector Chooser in Eclipse.
I really dont know what to do anymore, can anyone help me to get it work?
I hope this solution will help you as it helped me. I think your problem is related to an unmatched client/server version. Neon subversive version is 4 and related svn connector is 1.8. But you probably need an svn connector 1.7 as it was in my case. Try the next steps and let me know if it works. Otherwise let me know the point in which you get in trouble.
go to help > installation details > filter by "svn" > uninstall everything related to subversive, subclipse and svn connectors
restart eclipse
to to help > install new software > work with > use the previous major subversive version from this URL: http://download.eclipse.org/technology/subversive/3.0/update-site/
install at least the plug-in and the integrations
restart eclipse
it will probably not ask you for a connector to be installed because you have already installed one previously, so go to window > preferences > team > svn > svn connector tab > get connectors > 1.7! (you can install all of them, the important thing is the one you choose in the combo box, it must be 1.7)
try the svn check-out process again

Bug was fixed yesterday. So just update.
I uninstalled the SVNKit 1.8.14, and it worked for me.
I recently installed Eclipse Mars 4.5.1 (for Java Developers) using the Oomph installer. It is installed in my User directory in Windows 7. I was able to start it up, create a hello world app, and it all ran fine.
So far so good....
Then, I go to the "install software" feature under Help and download the C/C++ developer plugin. It downloads and installs fine. When I restart, I am able to build and run C++ binaries.
Again, no problem, yet....
Then, I wanted to install another plugin, PHP Developer. However, when I have Eclipse search the available sites for the package, it cannot find any sites. I tried to do a software update, and it claims it cannot find any of the hosts.
When I try to check my network preferences, I get a "null pointer exception" error report when I try to look at the Network preferences. The error report details indicate this has something to do with ".ssh\known_hosts" file not being found. Therefore, I cannot see what proxies it is using, and the list of known hosts is blank.
Bottom line: after updating itself fine for the first plugin, it appears to be unable to get to any repository for further updates. This happens regardless of what I choose as the first plugin to get.
I manually installed Eclipse Juno Java EE on my Ubuntu 12.04, inside the /usr/lib folder, then proceeded creating a link to the eclipse executable under /usr/bin and finally successfully started the program.
After installing the Subversive plugin, a prompt asked me to restart Eclipse, that I did since I know it's important to immediately install the connectors. However, with this setup I didn't get the Subversion Connection Discovery window on startup, nor any error in the error log view.
Now I have the Subversive plugin correctly installed, but no connector set up, and I seem not to be able to find a way for the Connection Discovery window to show up.
I would like not to use backup solutions (i.e. manually installing connectors from repositories) but solve this issue and get the normal procedure, since this is an installation I'll have to deal with for a while, and I feel this problem is a symptom of something wrong in my setup.
Create a dummy project, use Team -> Share, select SVN. The dialog should come up automatically now.
Alternatively install the connectors without the discovery dialog as described in several other SO question like: Subversive SVN Connectors does not appear in eclipse juno. You have to make sure that the update site matches your version of eclipse.
At least in my Eclipse (4.5), there is a button "Get Connectors" in the "Connectors" tab, if I visit Window/Preferences/Team/SVN. That button did the trick for me.

Trying to install Subversive and am choking on the concept of Subversive Connectors, and how to install them.
(1) What are Subversive Connectors? My only guess is that they help tie the Subversive plug-in to the local instance of svn. Yes? No?!?!
(2) I found an article explaining the difference between JavaHL and SVN Kit connectors (although it didn't explain what either of them were, or what they did!), and it looks like I want SVN Kit 1.3.2 for a number of reasons. But when I try to install them from the Subversive Connector Discovery dialog, it gives me an error, tells me to check an ambiguous "error log" (Eclipse error log, SVN error log, Subversive error log, ?!?!) and refuses to install it. I came across an article stating that this was a defect from a December 2009 release, but that it had been fixed. What is going on here? I am using Helios on 64-bit Ubuntu, anybody else ever have this problem? Any suggestions for how to fix or circumvent?
(3) It looks like the Subversive Connector Discovery dialog is configured to launch the first time you try to open Subversive from inside Eclipse (after installing and restarting). But since I wasn't able to install SVNKit 1.3.2, I canceled that dialog, closed Eclipse and walked away for a day. Now, I can't seem to get it to launch, and it has next to no online documentation that is helping me. Anybody know how to launch this dialog second and subsequent times?
Thanks to anyone who can provide even the tiniest of help. I will wash the gutters, mow the lawn and perform a full spring cleanup for anyone who can answer these!!!
Usually this works out pretty well, you install Subversive, and if you havn't installed a Connector, you get the dialog when Subversive needs it.
What's going on is a sad bug in the latest Eclipse/Subversive version.
Here's what worked for me.
Uninstall anything subversive related that you've installed.(Help->About Installation Details)
Go to http://www.eclipse.org/subversive/downloads.php#early_access . Download the zip file, currently this one.
Install that file you downloaded (Help->Install New Software , hit the Add button, chose Archive).
A restart later, you'll be asked for an SVN connector, choose SVNKit with the biggest version number, you should be good to go.

In regards to part 3. You can install the connectors directly from Polarion's update site. From what I understand, this is what the Subversive Connector Discovery does under the covers. The links to their update site are found here and look something like http://community.polarion.com/projects/subversive/download/eclipse/4.0/luna-site/. In Eclipse, click Help->Install New Software and paste the link into the "Work With" box. That should give you the list of connectors you can install.
