Regarding Eclispe EMF Command Frame WorK - eclipse

Can any one tell me how to use AddCommand rather than `SetCommand" to do the following.
I have a class like this:
class Profile {
List achievements;
List grades;
List extracurrics;
}
Now, suppose I need to add a grade object to this Profile object,how can I achieve this by using AddCommand only

SetCommand is basically used to set values in EMF model, and AddCommand is used to modify collection values inside EMF model, so in general it should not be a problem to use AddCommand.
You can create new AddCommand using static creation function in AddCommand:
AddCommand.create(EditingDomain domain, EObject owner, EStructuralFeature feature, java.lang.Object value)
Explanation of given values:
domain: the editing domain your model lives in
owner: element you are doing the modifications to
feature: feature in model, that should be given to you by the EPackage of your model.
So this case is the Grades list feature
value: the new object you add to the list
There are many different create helpers in add command, so if you need to define index to list, it is also doable.
I don't have EMF running here, so I cannot provide any direct sources, but let me know if that didn't do the trick.

It should look something like this:
Profile p = ...;
Grade g = ...;
Command add = AddCommand.create(domain,p, YourProfilePackage.Literals.PROFILE__GRADES, Collections.singleton(g));
where YourProfilePackage should be in the code generated automatically from your EMF model.

Access related model fields from ModelAdmin actions for exporting to excel

I am desperately waiting for someone attention to get my question answered.... please help..
ModelAdmin model has to export to Excel action method.
I need to access related model fields in action method. That means I can not pass any arguments therefore I tried relatedmodel_set but ModelAdmin action method shows memory location and fails when I try to access values through attributes:
<django.db.models.fields.related_descriptors.create_reverse_many_to_one_manager..RelatedManager object at 0x7f8eea904ac0>
model.py
class EnrolStudent(models.Model):
def get_trn_activity(self):
return self.studenttraininactivities_set
class StudentTraininActivities(models.Model):
trainin_activities = models.ForeignKey(EnrolStudent,
on_delete=CASCADE, null=True )
<other fields...>
admin.py
#admin.register(EnrolStudent)
class EnrolAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin):
form = CityInlineForm
inlines = [CohortTraininActivitiesInline]
...
actions = [export_as_txt_action_0120("File NAT00120 data Export"
, fields=['information_no', 'get_trn_activity',
'student_enrol__student_code'])]
I need to access related model fields to export to excel.
I can not pass parameter to get_trn_activity as you have noticed.
Therefore selected rows only data from Django admin change_list page will only need bit of work using its queryset in actions method used in separate actions.py file that I can do!
Please help me with this issue. I am new to Python / Django.
I also tried property decorator in related model then access in a method in main model then call it inside action but same problem with memory address not the direct value and then how to get data of memory location here .... I don't know.
If I can access the related fields then I can do it no issue.
Another question:
I had same situation with model/related model before, but they were connected through OneToOneField relationship and I was able to use dundor to access related model fields but in this case of ForiegnKey relationship I can not see related model in queryset.
In other case this is what I can do easily; here cohortdetails is related model and when I debug I saw it was listed in queryset that was great.
actions = [export_as_txt_action_0080("File NAT00080 txt Export",
fields=['rto_student_code', 'first_name', 'family_name'
,'cohortdetails__highest_school__highestschool_levelcode',
'cohortdetails__cohort_gender'
, 'cohortdetails__student_dob' ])]

Apache Isis: How to implement your custom submit form or page properly?

I'm new at Apache Isis and I'm stuck.
I want to create my own submit form with editable parameters for search some entities and a grid with search results below.
Firstly, I created #DomainObject(nature=Nature.VIEW_MODEL) with search results collection, parameters for search and #Action for search.
After deeper research, I found out strict implementations for actions (For exapmle ActionParametersFormPanel). Can I use #Action and edit #DomainObject properties(my search parameters for action) without prompts?
Can I implement it by layout.xml?
Then I tried to change a component as described here: 6.2 Replacing page elements, but I was confused which ComponentType and IModel should I use, maybe ComponentType.PARAMETERS and ActionModel or implement my own IModel for my case.
Should I implement my own Wicket page for search and register it by PageClassList interface, as described here: 6.3 Custom pages
As I understood I need to replace page class for one of PageType, but which one should I change?
So, the question is how to implement such issues properly? Which way should I choose?
Thank you!
===================== UPDATE ===================
I've implemented HomePageViewModel in this way:
#DomainObject(
nature = Nature.VIEW_MODEL,
objectType = "homepage.HomePageViewModel"
)
#Setter #Getter
public class HomePageViewModel {
private String id;
private String type;
public TranslatableString title() {
return TranslatableString.tr("My custom search");
}
public List<SimpleObject> getObjects() {
return simpleObjectRepository.listAll();
}
#Action
public HomePageViewModel search(
#ParameterLayout(named = "Id")
String id,
#ParameterLayout(named = "Type")
String type
){
setId(id);
setType(type);
// finding objects by entered parameters is not implemented yet
return this;
}
#javax.inject.Inject
SimpleObjectRepository simpleObjectRepository;
}
And it works in this way:
I want to implement a built-in-ViewModel action with parameters without any dialog windows, smth like this:
1) Is it possible to create smth like ActionParametersFormPanel based on ComponentType.PARAMETERS and ActionModel and use this component as #Action in my ViewModel?
2) Or I should use, as you said, ComponentType.COLLECTION_CONTENTS? As I inderstand my search result grid and my search input panel will be like ONE my stub component?
Thank you.
We have a JIRA ticket in our JIRA to implement a filterable/searchable component, but it hasn't yet made it to the top of the list for implementation.
As an alternative, you could have a view model that provides the parameters you want to filter on as properties, with a table underneath. (I see you asked another question here on SO re properties on view models, so perhaps you are moving in that direction also... I've answered that question).
If you do want to have a stab at implementing that ticket, then the ComponentTYpe to use is COLLECTION_CONTENTS. If you take a look at the isisaddons, eg for excel or gmap3 then it might help get you started.
======= UPDATE TO ANSWER (based on update made to query) ==========
I have some good news for you. v1.15.0-SNAPSHOT, which should be released in the couple of weeks, has support for "inline prompts". You should find these give a user experience very similar to what you are after, with no further work needed on your part.
To try it out, check out the current trunk, and then load the simpleapp (in examples/application/simpleapp). You should see that editing properties and invoking actions uses the new inline prompt style.

Generate code from Metamodel via XTend

I have an Ecore model in an existing EMF project and want to print the name of all containing classes into a text file via XTend. How do you achieve this? The XTend examples don't show how to use a model and get Information out of it.
If you only need the EClasses of your Meta-Model then you can get them from your Model Package:
YourEMFModelPackage.eINSTANCE.getEClassifiers() which returns a EList<EClassifier>. Since an EClass is an EClassifier you get all your EClass implementations org.eclipse.emf.ecore.impl.EClassImpl.
For type-safety concerns you probably check if this List only contains EClasses, since all your EDataTypes are also EClassifier.
So this should to the Trick:
EcoreUtil.getObjectsByType(YourEMFModelPackage.eINSTANCE.getEClassifiers(), EcorePackage.eINSTANCE.getEClass())
or:
List<EClass> allEClasses = YourEMFModelPackage.eINSTANCE.getEClassifiers().stream().filter(p -> EClass.class.isInstance(p)).map(m -> EClass.class.cast(m)).collect(Collectors.toList());
Update:
If you don't have your Model-Code generated you're still able to do this, you only need to load your Ecore into a Resource:
ResourceSet resourceSet = new ResourceSetImpl();
resourceSet.getResourceFactoryRegistry().getExtensionToFactoryMap().put("ecore",
new EcoreResourceFactoryImpl());
Resource resource = resourceSet.getResource(
URI.createFileURI(
"../path/to/your/Ecore.ecore"),
true);
EPackage model = (EPackage) resource.getContents().get(0);
If you have the EPackage then you get your EClass like mentioned above

Zend Framework / Form Element is rendering as a text box rather than a dropdown box

I have the following in a config.ini file: (Zend_Form_Element)
site_status.name = "site_status"
site_status.type = "select"
site_status.label = "Status"
site_status.options.multiOptions.active.key = "Active"
site_status.options.multiOptions.active.value = "Active"
site_status.options.multiOptions.active.key = "Inactive"
site_status.options.multiOptions.active.value = "Inactive"
As you can see this is supposed to be a dropdown (select) box, however it is being rendered as a standard text box. What am I doing wrong?
--> Edit
Rather than tying the elements to a form, I am trying to tie them to a database: In my code it would look something like this:
[{tablename}] // the table name would represent a section in the ini
{column}.name = "{column_name/form_field_id}";
{column}.type = "{form_element_type}"
{column}.label = "{form_element_label}"
...
From there I would pull in the database table(s) that the form would represent data for (one or more tables as necessary). As far as the reasoning for this approach is that (down the road), I want to define (either by ini or some other storage method), a configuration file that would be a list of fields/elements that belong to a specific form (that a non-programmer type could easily edit), that the 'generic' form class would read, pull in the element info, and create the form on the fly.
I do realize however this poses another problem which I haven't yet figured out, and that is how to use table lookups for select elements (without coding the database retrieval of the lookup into the form, so that a non-user could easily just define it without any programming, purely configuration, but that is a whole other topic not part of my question here. (and I think I have viable ideas/solutions to that part of the problem anyhow) -- extra config entries and a generic routine pretty much.
I hope that clarifies my thought process and reason why I am doing it the way I am in the example above.
I have not yet played with using a Zend_Config to construct an instance of Zend_Form.
But a look at the code suggests that Zend_Form::addElement() doesn't directly take a Zend_Config instance as a param. Rather, it looks like you need pass your Zend_Config instance to the form constructor. It also seems that the config format needs to be a little deeper in order to map config keys to setXXX() calls.
In path/to/config/myForm.ini:
[myForm]
myForm.elements.site_status.name = "site_status"
myForm.elements.site_status.type = "select"
myForm.elements.site_status.label = "Status"
myForm.elements.site_status.options.multiOptions.active.key = "Active"
myForm.elements.site_status.options.multiOptions.active.value = "Active"
myForm.elements.site_status.options.multiOptions.inactive.key = "Inactive"
myForm.elements.site_status.options.multiOptions.inactive.value = "Inactive"
Then instantiating:
$formConfig = new Zend_Config_Ini('path/to/config/myForm.ini', 'myForm');
$form = new Zend_Form($formConfig);
Not tested, but looking at this example:
Using Zend_Form with Zend_Config - Andrew Vayanis
it feels like it should go something like the above.
Update
In view of the comments/feedback from #Aaron, two more approaches.
We could extend Zend_Form, implementing a method called something like addElementByConfig in which we would pass the shallow Zend_Config instance that describes the element itself. In fact, we could even just override addElement(), taking a recursive approach: if the first param is an instance of Zend_Config, then call addElement() using the component data.
If the atomicity and re-usability are the primary benefits we seek in using Zend_Config to describe an element, then perhaps we just make a custom element extending Zend_Form_Element. Then we could use these elements in any forms we wish.

Symfony form gets messy when calling getObject() in form configuration

I have a Strain model that has a belongsTo relationship with a Sample model, i. e. a strain belongs to a sample.
I am configuring a hidden field in the StrainForm configure() method this way:
$defaultId = (int)$this->getObject()->getSample()->getTable()->getDefaultSampleId();
$this->setWidget('sample_id', new sfWidgetFormInputHidden(array('default' => $defaultId)));
Whenever I create a new Strain, the $form->save() fails. The debug toolbar revealed that it tries to save a Sample object first and I do not know why.
However, if I retrieve the default sample ID using the table it works like a charm:
$defaultId = (int)Doctrine_Core::getTable('Sample')->getDefaultSampleId();
$this->setWidget('sample_id', new sfWidgetFormInputHidden(array('default' => $defaultId)));
My question here is what can be happening with the getObject()->getSample()... sequence of methods that causes the StrainForm to think it has to save a Sample object instead of Strain.
I tried to debug with xdebug but I cannot came up with a clear conclusion.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!!
When you call getSample its creating a Sample instance. This is automatically attached to the Strain object, thus when you save you also save the Sample.
An altenrative to calling getSample would be to chain through Strain object to the Sample table since i assume youre only doing this so your not hardcodeing the Sample's name in related form:
// note Sample is the alias not necessarily the Model name
$defaultId = Doctrine_Core::getTable($this->getObject()->getTable()->getRelation('Sample')->getModel())->getDefaultId();
Your solution probably falls over because you can't use getObject() on a new form (as at that stage the object simply doesn't exist).
Edit: Why don't you pass the default Sample in via the options array and then access it from within the form class via $this->getOption('Sample') (if I remember correctly)?
