Here's something I don't know if it's possible, but here's my question:
My jQuery application has dynamically added entry fields. For example, a button "Add New Customer" adds a new entry form after the current one. So far, so good!
However, I find myself needing to add the mask functions I want to every newly created field, like this:
$("#customer_zipcode\\["+customerCount+"\\]).zipcodeMask(....);
zipcodeMask(...) is just an example function that checks to make sure the user's entered a correct zip code. Other similar masks for phone numbers, credit cards, etc. This part works great, but I have to set it for every newly created element I want to have a zip code mask.
I thought it would be awesome if there was something like .live() that could do the .zipcodeMask() call for every future instance of the zip code field.
I thought I'd make a class, such as "UseZipCodeMask", and do something like class="UseZipCodeMask" in every input field that needs a zip code mask.
When I do this:
$(".UseZipCodeMask").zipcodeMask(....);
This works fine - for every existing element that has this class. If I create a new field with this class, it's doesn't have the .zipcodeMask(...) function working.
Is there a way to make my zip code fields get .zipcodeMask(...) automatically set for it? It would clean up the code a bit, there's a lot of code that adds .zipcodeMask() and other related functions every time some new input fields are created.
Thanks very much!
What jquery version are you using?
You can use .delegate which means you would not have to "add the plugin" to newly created elements.

I want to know how to change/replace the user/contact form in Sulu i.e. https://sulu.rocks/admin/#/contacts/1/details.
I want to remove the fields for Addresses, Bank accounts, etc.
I tried to copy the vendor/sulu/sulu/src/Sulu/Bundle/ContactBundle/Resources/config/forms/account_details.xml into config/forms and removed the unnecessary fields. But that not working.
I can't find something to this in the documentation or it's hidden :D
If you add a form with the exact same key as the form you want to override, the contents of both forms are merged. In your case, the key would be contact_details. Now you can add completely new properties to the form or override existing ones by just creating a property with the same name. If you want to hide a property, you have to override it and set visibleCondition="false".
You can also have a look at this example pull request.
I need to make a page in SuiteCRM (v7.9 -- based loosely on Sugar 6.5 CE) that has a list of objects (of a custom module), with checkboxes in front of each one. So far, so good: that's a standard ListView.
The catch is that only some records should be in the list (filtering on whether there is an associated row in a related custom module/object).
This page needs to be distinct from the "regular" list for this module, which should indeed list all records.
It seems to me it makes sense to use a custom "action" to access this page view, and I can get my custom action code to fire with the right URL.
But I don't see how to hook in the filtering. At first, it looked like the process_record logic hook might be helpful here, but it just gives the bean for every record to be displayed. Unless there's a flag "display this record" that I'm not seeing, that's not so helpful.
Ideally, of course, I'd like to be able to inject a different WHERE clause in my custom controller action before calling
parent::action_listview();
to display the page, but I'm not seeing doc to indicate how that might work. I would include source code, but so far, the line above is everything (but boilerplate) that's in the controller.php file.
Create a copy of listview in custom folder and then override the listview's listViewProcess() method and insert your query there:
function listViewProcess() // generating listview
{
$this->processSearchForm();
if($this->where==''){
$this->where.="leads.status='Converted'";
}
$this->lv->searchColumns = $this->searchForm->searchColumns;
if(!$this->headers)
return;
$this->lv->setup($this->seed, 'custom/modules/Leads/ListView/ListViewGeneric.tpl', $this->where, $this->params);
echo $this->lv->display();
}

Another tested working example can be found here:
How to hard code the where condition in list view ,basic search,advance search in sugar CE
P.S: I'm not so sure about "v7.9 -- based loosely on Sugar 6.5 CE" I'd say it's 95% identical apart from API stuff
for custom modules in SuiteCRM.
You may change in function create_new_list_query.
I'm working with Symfony2 to set up a form, where a Shelf-Entity can be edited.
A shelf contains a collection of Readable-Entities (e.g. Book, Magazine, etc. - all inherit from Readable).
The user has the possibility to add more Readable-Entities (the form is extended via JavaScript) and from a dropdown he can select the type of Readable he wants to add. Depending on the selected dropdown-value, different form fields are rendered. So far so good.
Now, when the form is submitted to the server, depending on the Readable-Type the user selected in the form, a different entity-type should be instantiated.
If I don't do anything, Symfony just instantiates the base class Readable (and not Book, Magazine, etc.).
How can I tell Symfony to instantiate the correct type of Readable depending on the selected value from the dropdown?
I tried with FormEvent-Listeners, but:
in PRE_SUBMIT I only get an array containing the "raw" form data with $event->getData(), i.e. no entities have been instatiated so far. However, at this stage, I still have access to value of the dropdown.
in SUBMIT the form data was already assigned to the appropriate entities. Also the new Readable was already instatiated with the base Readable-Class. But now, I cannot access anymore the value from the dropdown.
What is the correct way to do this?
EDIT
Added a minimal Code-Example for the Shelf FormType:

Code for infinite_form_polycollection:

Have you tried looking at this part of the doc? As "embedding a form" seems to fit your needs.
It seems that there was something wrong with the PHP-Files of the PolyCollection in the vendor-directory, because after removing everything related to the Infinite Form Bundle from the vendor-dir and reinstalling it with composer, everything is working now. But thanks for your efforts YoannCh
I have been attempting to create a form where a user can simply press a button and the form will add a new field for the user to use. I have 2 of these dynamically added field types.
Firstly a field where a user can upload files, by pressing the add button another field is pasted underneath the current field and is ready for use.
I have followed an old guide on how to get this done with a bit of ajax and jQuery.
This guide to be exact: http://www.jeremykendall.net/2009/01/19/dynamically-adding-elements-to-zend-form/
As you can see it's from 2009 and a bit outdated yet it still works under the current Zend Framework version 1.11.11
The problem however arises now that i want an edit / update version of the form. I need to populate it's fields but first of all i need to create enough fields for the data to be stored in. So when there's 3 files that have been uploaded it should create 2 additional fields and place the 3 file names in these fields ready to be edited and updated. Simply using $form->populate($stuff) is not going to work
I just have no idea how to accomplish this and the tutorial on dynamically added fields only goes as far as the addAction and not how to create the editAction under these conditions.
Is there any tutorial out there on how to create and manage forms such as these? I'm sure i am not the only one who's had the idea to builds these kind of forms?
I can add my code if there's a request for it but it's the same as the example from the guide, just a different set of elements in the form.
Adding a small example of it's use.
A user adds an item with 3 files, these files are uploaded along with a filename so in the database it appears like this : File_Id : '1' , File_Name : 'SomeFile' , File_location : 'somewhere/on/my/pc/SomeFile.txt'.
Now the user realizes he forgot a file or wants to delete a file from that list, he goes to the edit page and here i want the form to display the previously added filenames. So if there's 3 files it shows 3 and when there's 2 it shows 2 etc. How do i build a form to dynamically add fields based on the number of uploaded files and then populate them?
Any advice on how to handle this is well appreciated :)
You can make use of the semi-magic setXxx() methods of the form.
Inside the form:
public function setFiles($files) {
foreach ($files as $file) {
$this->addElement(/* add a file element */);
//do other stuff, like decorators to show the file name, etc.
}
}
In your controller:
$files = $model->getFiles();
$form = new Form_EditFiles(array('files' => $files));
By passing an array with key files you will make the form try to call the method named setFiles(), which you have conveniently provided above.
This should push you in the right direction, or so I hope at least.
If I understand you correctly you want to populate file upload fields, which is not possible because of security reasons.
Edit:
You can add Elements inside of the Controller via $form->addElement() (basicly just like the $this->addElement() statements in the Tutorial)
I have a window with a search form at the top and grid at the bottom.
User can enter values in the search form and click button - Get Records.
At the click of this button, I load the store of the grid by passing the values in form fields as parameters in following way:
store.load({
params:{
key1:Ext.getCmp('field1').getValue();
}
});
I tried giving parameters in the store proxy itself, but it unfortunately always takes up initial values (values when the form is rendered) and not the latest one entered by the users in the form fields. Following is the method I used for assigning values to params while creating the store:
extraParams:{
key1:Ext.getCmp('field1').getValue();
}
I wanted to seek guidance at two things:
a. While defining a store, can I ensure that store takes latest/current values from the form fields before querying server, so that I don't have to provide these values while calling load function?
This becomes more necessary as I have a paging toolbar at the bottom which carries a refresh button (along with next, last, previous, first icons for navigation).
Now, whenever user clicks at refresh (or any navigation icon), the store gets loaded without the query parameters.
Thus the second thing is:
b. If the answer of 'a' is that - Pass the latest values to parameters manually when calling load function - then how can I write the handler for 'refresh' button and navigation icons (that is, next, last, previous and first) in the paging toolbar, so that I can pass the latest form values to load function.
Thanks for any help in advance.
PS: I am using ExtJS 4.
yourStore.on('beforeload',function(store, operation,eOpts){
operation.params={
status:cmbStatus.getValue(),
value:txtBuscarPor.getValue(),
empresa:'saasd',
app:'dsads'
};
},this);
Related to your question (b) (and because you especially asked for this in the comments section):
I see only one standard way to hook into the PagingToolbar button handlers which is very limited.
Ext.toolbar.Paging fires a 'beforechange' event before it actually changes the current page. See API docs. A listener that returns false will stop the page change.
All other methods require extending Ext classes which wouldn't be a problem if the ComboBox would make it easier to use your own implementation of BoundList (which is the class that renders the dropdown) or pass through config parameters to BoundList resp. the paging toolbar.
I tried to bring this lack of flexibility up on the Ext message board once but was pretty much ignored.
A possible solution for this is to use 'beforeload' event of the store and provide the list of parameters in it. This way, whenever the store is loaded, then its beforeload event is fired and the values picked up are always the latest. Hope this helps someone looking for something similar.
