There's also a great WordPress plugin called WPtouch which I've seen a lot of blogs use. That is, if most of your company's site is a WordPress blog...

Have a look at http://www.jqtouch.com/ or http://code.google.com/p/iui/ or one of the similar toolkits available for doing iPhone web applications.
The actual detection of an iPhone browser depends on your backend framework. A bit more information can be found in this question

problem regarding iphone Web App

I need to create a web app on iphone. How to go about it?
there you are: http://gigaom.com/apple/how-to-create-an-iphone-web-app/
A search on Google for 'Webapp Tutorial' can do magical things.
Edit:

Look at the Wink Toolkit. Very useful for developing Mobile WebApps.

iPhone + Android App to view Blog

What would be the best way to write an app for the iPhone OS and the Android OS that allows access to a web blog (posted on blogspot.com)? Are there ways to manipulate the incoming data from the website to fit the UI of the phones, or will I have to re-do a lot of the blogs?
Any help would be nice! And thank you in advance!
The easiest way in both would be to integrate the browser in the web app but perhaps restrict it to the blog.
For example, your app would open and have its own UI, but displaying the actual blog content would be done in an integrated browser (such as a WebView in Android).
Doing it this way isn't the best as it wouldn't be the best experience for the user, but it has the added benefit of keeping all the blog's design and extras, as well as javascript functionality.
"Manipulating incoming data from the website" (otherwise known as scraping) would be tricky for modern blogs since they usually contain so much customised content and are nowadays more like websites with blogs than just regular blogs.
I guess your best bet is to use Phonegap open source framework.
Since it basically creates local webapps and both platforms have very similar browser capabilities this should be a good fit for your intended application.

Iphone web application

I am developing a iphone web application. I already have a website designed using php and mysql. how I can convert this website to compatile for iphone.
pls share your thoughts.
Thanks
If it's specifically designed for the iPhone, then you can simply load it up onto one and develop accordingly. If your site is primarily desktop oriented, then you could:
Do nothing. The iPhone is designed for non-iPhone-aware web sites, and so your's will probably work just like that. In practice a little tweaking will probably make things much better.
Build a parallel site, custom-made for the iPhone, and use browser-detection to redirect to that site when an iPhone comes knocking.

iPhone friendly websites with ASP.NET MVC

Are there any resources or guidance out there on how to make iPhone friendly web applications?
In my case specifically, I'd like to use ASP.NET MVC, but since that all runs on the server, I know it'll boil down to just markup/css/javascript considerations.
edit: as I find other resources not mentioned here, I will update the question text :-)
CSS-Tricks ScreenCast on Designing for the iPhone
There’s an iPhone article on Sitepoint (which usefully shows you how to target stylesheets at just the iPhone, whilst hiding them from Internet Explorer—Apple's documentation doesn't).
Craig Hockenberry wrote Put Your Content In My Pocket at A List Apart.
A Flickr developer posted some lessons learned: http://code.flickr.com/blog/2008/10/27/lessons-learned-while-building-an-iphone-site/
+1 for Apple’s documentation as mentioned by Boot To The Head—horses’ mouth and all that: they have pretty comprehensive stuff on neat CSS properties that are only really supported by Safari, like CSS animations and CSS Transitions.
Scot Hanselman had a great presentation at Mix 09. Click here link.
Also look at the Mobile Device Browser File=>LINK. It is open source at codeplex.
"What is the Mobile Device Browser Definition File?
The Mobile Device Browser Definition File contains capability definitions for individual mobile devices and browsers. At run time, ASP.NET uses this .browser file, along with the information in the HTTP request header, to determine what type of device/browser has made the request and what the capabilities of that device are. This information is exposed to the developer through the Request.Browser property and allows them to tailor the presentation of their web page to suit the capabilities of the target device." - Codeplex
The definitive resource is Apple's Safari Dev Center.

iPhone-SDK: How to make iPhone format website?

Is it possible to make my own website as iPhone friendly format when user launches my website in an iPhone browser?
Currently if i launch my website in iPhone, it doesn't look more readable and i need to zoom it to see clearly. If i want to provide my website link will be more clear and readable with bold fonts and buttons ( moreover it is like iPhone friendly format) in the first launch itself in iPhone browser, how to make it success? I could able to see some third party websites like http://tringapps.com and all provide the same logic. How to achieve this and what should i do for that? Where to code?

You'll need to make a separate version, or at the very least an extreme re-CSSing of your existing site.
Apple has some good tips on getting started here.
There are several toolkits to assist in developing the web apps as well, like this and even this.
There is a good book to get started. Building Applications for Mobile Safari
There are many PDFs available from Apple.
