Use of sound in iPhone app - adding an action and grouping buttons - iphone

I have been checking video tutuorials on playing the use of a sound in an iPhone app. As I am building one and found a few tips, I am stuck with two questions regarding the Interface builder:
After bringing a new button in the View, I am looking at the button's View Identity, but there is no Class Actions item under the Class Identity (in the video tutorials there is). Is there something I needed to add or is just the newer version? Mine only has the Class Identity and Interface Builder Identity. How do I add an action in View Identity? In the videos there are + buttons that generate Class actions.
If i have a menu with 250 buttons (let's say a tips list menu) and I want the same sound generated every time the user touches any of the buttons, should I connect the sound file manually to each of the 250 buttons or is there a way of gathering all 250 in one place and connected only once? How do i gather them all together for that?

The answer to the first question is that - due to the newer changes - the Action class could be found under "Classes" tab in the library panel (select the object from the top half you wish to inspect and the lower half of the screen has tabs for Lineage, Definitions, Outlets and Actions.)

Function across multiple view controllers

I am trying to make a function so that I request a 'manager override' where it presents a screen for a manager to enter their password and press an approve button. How should I do this? Will it have to be in multiple functions? Is there a way that I can call one function and it present the information back? Would a completion work for what I need? I have no ideas where to start for this.
My set up is as follows:
A view controller asks for manager approval, then a screen slides up with text boxes and an approve button. I want the approve button to trigger authenticating and dismissing the screen
Assuming you don't want a Framework target (that sounds like overkill for what you want) simply mark the function as "public" and move it outside of any class. I just tried in a sample project and it works.
It looks important - remember to keep it in a file already in the project. (My sample project didn't work with menu option File|Add|New|File.)

Implement swipe gestures in apple watch using watchOS2.0

Hi I need to implement a functionality in my apple watch where when user swipes down will move from one module(InterfaceController1) to another module(InterfaceController2).And when user force touch menu should pop up and tapping on any button in the menu should present a model.
I am able to implement forceTouch menu option. But where as with swipe down to move to second module, i am not able to get any doc about this.
Please let me know if someone is aware of it.
Short Answer:
No, You can't.
Long Answer:
All WKInterface objects are proxy objects(aka Remote UI) that allows you to send queries to real UI Objects.
Reminds that the bundle that contains storyboard is separated with extension bundle. In sand-box concept, Your code that running on extension bundle can't access real UI Objects directly.
So there is no way to react against of user actions except that are available with interface builder(aka sentAction).

iPhone Beginner Question - Hooking Up Actions

I'm just starting out with iPhone development, and in my hello world application I'm having a hard time hooking up a view to a controller with actions. I followed the instructions in the book I'm reading (I believe), but depending on where I run the application the app behaves differently.
-When i command-r from the code, I see only the single button I have on the view taking up the whole window. When I click the button the action is triggered.
-when I command-r from the interface designer I see the button, label, and textbox lined up correctly. When I click the button nothing happens.
Anyone know why this is happening/how to fix it? Thanks.
Launching simulator from interface builder only simulates selected .xib file. You should only do that to test your view design.

you accidentally the whole view.
Seriously. You made one wrong connection. You connected the view outlet of the viewController (aka File's Owner) with the UIButton.
just delete this connection and connect the view outlet of the File Owner with the "Root"View.
And you should probably remove almost all connections that trigger btnClicked: too. TouchUpInside from the button is enough.
And you should follow the objective-c coding style (Part II) and start all Class names with a capital letter. chapter_2ViewController should be something like Chapter2ViewController.
To my knowledge you cannot run an app from interface builder, I may be mistaken.
You should make sure your interface builder file is saved and run the app from within xcode
just a guess, but is the window size in the simulator different than that in IB? You might check the control resizing masks and on the sizing tab in IB.

Create springboard like main view

Is there some sample code, or an easy way, to implement an application with as its first view something like Springboard?
What I am looking for is just a view with basic icons which after a tab on an icon tells the view-controller to push the view associated with the selected icon.
This in itself is not that difficult off-course (just putting images on a view), but is there an easy way to implement all the extra functionality as well (as e.g. moving the icons around (start 'vibrating' when when you push hold them), multiple pages etc.). The Facebook App seems to have this. It is probably not worth my while to write it myself, but it would be nice if there is something 'out of the box' to give the App a bit more of an iPhone feel.

Facebook uses the Three20 library for its UI. The specific view used for the SpringBoard-like interface is known as TTLauncherView.
This is not an endorsement (I have yet to really check this out, and I may be too entrenched in using Three20 at this point to even bother), but here is another project that implements the springboard functionality: myLauncher on Github

Iphone sdk - How to setup a 'template'

I've been working on a Cook Book App and I've been making each page individually which takes a really long time to do, I asked a question similar to this and it was brought to my attention that you can setup a way to automate the design process so all you need to do is input your data.
Can someone please explain in as much detail as possible how you setup your xcode files/code to automate such a process
So for example I would just enter the page text and it would automatically put my standard background picture in and add a scroll view and appropriate buttons etc.

You could make one master view that contains all the controls that you need: standard background picture, scroll view, appropriate buttons, etc, and make any subsequent views that you create inherit from this view, so that they all contain those controls.
You could also use just one view and work with multiple instances of it, one instance per page. Just make sure to have a Text property on it, or a constructor that takes in your text string, so that you could set it to a different text on each page.
Xcode project templates and file templates are pretty easy to make, with a few caveats.

It sounds to me like your putting your data into your views (pages). That's a big design error. You need to employ the Model-View-Controller design pattern and separate your data from your views. That will make it easy to create one view (template) that you can reload with data to display each individual recipe.
The first thing to do is to separate your data from the view. You need to have the recipes stored in an array, dictionary, Core Data etc and then wrap that data in a dedicated object. The second thing to do is to create a dedicated view to display all the recipes. As the user moves from recipe to recipe the app will simply remove and add information to the same view as needed.
I would recommend Cocoa Recipes for Mac OS X: The Vermont Recipes, Second Edition because it addresses these issues and it uses a recipe type app as its example. It's for Cocoa but the basic principles apply to iPhone apps as well.
