I am trying to implement editable cell in tableview, just like what is available in new contact screen in iphone and ipod
Right now I have two labels in a cell, one of which will remain same all the time and the other one will be editable. Do I need to change this label to textfield.
one more thing I also want that when i click one such cell it should pop a picker view and and set the picerview value.

Yes you should add a UITextField to the cell if you want to editable. but
from your question i understand that you want to set a piker value to the cell label.
in this case you don't need to change the cell.
you should add the pop the picker in the didSelectRow method, and change the cell label to its result.

Yeah, you will need to change it to a textfield. UILabel is non-editable by design.

i have a UITableView where i want one cell(database row) needs to be default,
So I am thinking of two options
in TableView upon clicking a cell, change accessoryType to mark just like ringtone selection in settings app
when user enters data, add an option (like radio button or segmented control) to make that cell (database row) as default one
I feel first option is good but we can implement code for that only in didSelectRowAtIndexPath but i need to jump to another view when user click on a cell.
So please give me an idea how to accomplish this
One idea iam thinking is adding an edit button but don't know whether its possible or not.

Not sure if i understand your question correctly , but according to what i understand you want a table view in which many values will be there , and you want one value to be default which can be changed later.
According to me these ways would be pretty good,
Changing the accessorytype of the tableViewCell. (Most common way)
Changing the Highlighted property of the cell on loading the tableView.
Adding some image then setting the image as the background view of the selected cell.
Adding custom image view (such as tick or something and adding to the cell).
this code can be put in the viewDidload so your default selected value appears.

Don't know what you mean by default. I'm assuming you mean already selected. You might just want to set the accessoryType to the checkbox. That would be Apple's way of doing it.
How can I add an UIView as a subview in a cells contentView when the user has tapped the cell, and remove the same UIView when the user taps that cell again?
I am trying to make a list of photos in a UITableView with expand/collapse button. The UIView that I want to add is the container of photo's information. Instagram accomplished it, but I cant figure out how to do it

I don't think you want to add a subview to the cell, but you want to add another cell to the already existing table. This way, you can achieve an "expand/collapse" feel to your table by using insertRowsAtIndexPaths:withRowAnimation:

Adding and removing the views in the cell should be easy enough inside didSelectRow, but you may need to keep track of which rows are in what state (big or small) by recording that in a mutable array. The bigger issue you will have is adjusting a cell's height, but look here for that.
So I have a UITableView (its in a UIPopOverController if that matters), and I want the user to be able to edit the content of the tableView. I added a UINaviagationController, the tableView also has a title and an edit button. Essentially what I'm asking is, when the user taps the edit button, how can I add like UITextViews to some of the tableViews and in one of the cells, a UISegmentControl and a UITextView.

just add them as subviews of the cell, set correct frame to make subviews inside the cell
In my app I have a set number of cells in a UITableView, 10, no more, no less, and the user can't change that.
However what I would like to have is so that if the user was to naturally in an iOS fashion, swipe a cell, or press an edit button, the cell text becomes editable with a simple tap on the cell bringing up a keyboard.
I was just wondering if there is a fairly simple method to do this, or take quite of custom building? What are you thoughts on how this could go together?

This should work if you just add a UITextField into the table cell's contentView I believe.
In my iPhone application I have used (UITableViewCellAccessoryCheckmark) to add the checkmarks in the cells, - it is added to the cell at the right side of the cell.
I want the checkmarks to display in the middle of the cell and after that a string should display. So that the user can set the cell item as checked or unchecked.
Please provide any solution or any code for adding the (UITableViewCellAccessoryCheckmark) in the middle of the cell.
There is no built in way to do this. You will have to create a cell, then in tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: you will need to either add a custom subview, or return a custom cell and tell it to display the custom checkmark you added based on the data state.
The accessory view of the cell is always on the right side, outside of the cell's content view (see the Table View Programming Guide for more on this). If you want to do something like this, you really need to create your own cell class, and draw the checks yourself.
Speaking as a user, this design seems sort of confusing, and definitely not what I'd expect. What's the string you're displaying to the right of the check? Maybe something like the UITableViewCellStyleValue1 style cell would work, instead? (See Standard Styles for Table-View Cells for more.)
